Breeze:
Within visible range, only the lantern shines brightly enhanced in your darkvision as it lays upon the ground. In the distance, you can hear something large wading the through the growth away from you. At the same time, you can hear something smaller quickly approaching the area beneath you.

Aurin:
Throwing caution to the wind and rain, you opt to push through full speed and not gamble your nephew's life on stealth. You spot something up ahead in your darkvision but can't discern it, likely unable to until right on top of it.

Aurin begins moving as stealthily as possible, on guard and ready to fight.

Using his limited knowledge of tracking Breeze quickly surveys the area for tracks to see if he can determine which way whatever is making the noise went and maybe determine what it could be.

Breeze:

The only fresh tracks in the immediate area beneath you is a set of small footprints. It leads off in the same direction as the sound the large thing moving away.

From the foliage, you spot a light source up ahead. You stealthily edge towards it, seeing it to be a hooded lantern dropped upon the ground.

Aurin calms his breathing and takes in the surrounding moment, looking for any sign of person or creature.

Perception Roll is (17) + 20 = 37!

Aurin's natural skill and magic combine to enhance his per perception of the current setting.


Aurin::

The only fresh tracks in the immediate area is a set of small footprints imprinted into the mud. The rain had quickly washed away any obvious tracks or direction for you to follow.

DC is 11, unattainable for your lack of Survival/Tracking skill

Breeze::

You see a male aasimar, wearing simple peasant garbs and sandals, emerge from the forest shadows to inspect the area around the lantern. After a moment he appears to see the same signs of passage as you do, but seems to not know the direction of the tracks.

Breeze moves down and quickly darts just above the ground foliage making sure to create some noise and shake some branches while staying invisible saying. "This way" Following the path the footprints went.

Aurin quickly hides in the branches of some trees.

Stealth roll is (13) + 15 = 28.

Once safely hidden, Aurin yells out, "XUNGIS!!!"

He then waits...

Aurin: Making sure you are aware you are being spoken to.

Breeze stops and sighs "I watched you hide so I know where you are besides if I wanted to harm you I would not have spoken first. I just do not want to waste my resources and cast again."

Still maintaining his invisibility Breeze cast a minor cantrip

and inscribes an arrow pointing in the direction the footprints went on a tree trunk.

"The footprints went this way"

And starts moving in that direction again but quicker to make up for lost time.

Not one to mistrust the fortune of Mt. Celestia, Aurin runs in the direction Indicated by the arrow, and makes sure to keep the magic user in sight!

"My thanks friend!" Aurin yells with gratitude in his tone.

"I am in search of a young boy named Xungis!"

Breeze continues to search for the object of the loud noise ahead while remaining INVISIBLE!

Aurin silently thanks the unseen helper and follows the arrow directing him.

The sound of movement in the distance that Breeze is following abruptly ceases, although the fresh tracks of small feet still remain. Aurin rushes after his invisible guide, whose location is occasionally revealed by the movement of branches and leaves. Suddenly, a brilliant green and white light comes welling and streaking out through the trees like sunlight through window panes. The source appears to be nearby. Breeze had mapped this area well enough over the past weeks to be certain there is nothing more than verdant growth.

Cautiously, you approach the source of the light - a shimmering curtain of light between two realities. On one side, you and the deep forest; on the other, the wandering site Yóuyuán Xìngjiāo.

Breeze stops just in front of the portal and lets his invisibility fade starring with wonder at the object of weeks of hard work, forgetting in the meanwhile that he still is in the shape of a small air elemental.

"It....It is true....It is true and I have found it."

Turning as the stranger he was trying to help comes into view Breeze motions twords the portal and says with no small amount of pride.

" Yóuyuán Xìngjiāo."

Knowledge History roll is (14) + 4 = 18.

The Aasimar moves quickly through the thick foliage making his way towards the clearing. He makes it through with more than a few scrapes and bruises and moves to stand beside the form of the Elemental.

Aurin turns to the being of air and says, "Youyuan Xingjiao. What is this place friend?"

"It is an extremely rare event. It is called a wondering site. It moves you see. If you friend went into the portal and does not come out before it moves he could be trapped there and i have no idea how long the portal will stay open."

With that says Breeze steps into the portal into Yóuyuán Xìngjiāo saying over his shoulder.

"The name is Breeze by the way and if your coming you should probably hurry but I can not say for sure that your friend went this way."

Aurin takes a moment to listen for Xungis. After a few moments pass, the Monk trusts the Path set before him, and steps through the Portal.

As Breeze moves to the other side of the portal he begins poking about looking for signs of passage.

"So what brings you and your friend out into the forest at so late an....crud I forgot about Guo. I do hope he is alright."

All is silent... no birds, no insects, no wind... You make out the overgrown edges of ascending steps to the northeast. The tracks abruptly stops where you stand.

"What brings me here, friend Breeze, are these footprints." Aurin bends down to inspect the print. "My surrogate nephew wandered into the foliage to engage a beast in my name."


Throughout the game, make skill rolls as you see fit; GM does not always prompt for them. Also if you are not moving, indicate so, out-of-character, so I know you are done with your actions. And if you do move your icon, be sure to describe when necessary for GM to understand, ie. 5' step, double move, stealth at half speed, 20' backkwards, etc

"Well as far as I can tell the tracks end here so unless he can fly or perhaps teleport of some kind I have not the slightest clue what happened. but then again I am no skilled tracker I only dabble."

hows the canopy of trees on this side is it tall trees or low shrubs

"The boy was in search of some kind of beast," Aurin says as he stretches out his senses.

Perception roll is (12) + 20 = 32.

"Do you know of any creatures that inhabit a place like this Breeze?"


Aurin can sense they are both being watched, even more so he can hear the breathing of whatever it is. Then as if answering his question to Breeze as to the site's mythical inhabitants, something stirs in the canopy, then leaping down with a fearsome roar! Two four-armed, ape-like creatures, covered with matted white fur, roars in rage as it rears up to its full towering height.

Eight arms thumping chests with ferocious roars that you can feel in your loins. Clearly, they are warning you to leave, holding their ground.

Intimidate, DC25 Breeze, DC26 Aurin: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
You are both Shaken for 1 rd. I'm going to get you guys to learn the system, so look up Shaken and apply its effects to your actions/rolls. "Feel terror cloud your senses. Feel its power to distort."

Hazzakk swallows his cud and reviews his surroundings.

Realizing that fear has crept into his soul, Aurin breathes in an attempt to calm himself and sets into a defensive stance. He quietly recites the mantra learned early on in his training.

"Never move from Fear. Fear is a soul's unwillingness to accept what is. I accept all that is given with a willingness to deepen my soul through all experience." Aurin rolls his shoulders shaking the nervousness out of his body. "Come creatures, if battle is what you seek, Aurin Saa will oblige."

Aurin is in Total Defense for this round.

Breeze realizing he is at a disadvantage takes to the air trying to stay out of the reach of the beasts at recites an arcane incantation.

Aurin stands ready with his right leg back, calming his body as much as he is able. His palms up and head down as a show of submission.

Now we know why he's called Breeze - as in gone like a breeze.

Uncertain of Aurin's supplicating behavior, the beasts step forward and roars their threats again, which seem less intimidating than before.

Aurin, the Shaken condition removed.

"Are these the kind of creatures that can be peaceably dealt with?" Aurin calls out trusting that his new found friend is still there.

Aurin moves 5m towards the trees, keeps his Defensive Stance, and continues to hold his non aggressive position.

From somewhere above Breeze says quietly "Not very friendly thats for sure. They are called Girallon and are highly aggressive"

With that said Breeze quietly says a PRAYER to his God.

prayer spell = +1 att,dam,saves,skills,for allies and -1 for foes for all those for 8 rounds. Making sure Aurin is in range.


Just then, you here faintly at first, "Masta, masta, I'm coming!", then breaking clear into the opening, Guo calls out your name, "Masta!" Upon seeing the colossal beasts, wide-eyed Guo whimpers, "...masta?..."

The garilons notices another threat to its territory in addition to the one already not backup. They both charge with fist and teeth! The second one moving towards Guo!

Upon seeing Guo in danger Breeze lets loose a barrage of force bolts.

magic missile has the meta magic feat toppling spell which gives me a free trip attack

Breeze saves Guo for the moment as he send the beast to its knees. Guo darts off into the woods as the giralon gets up and looks up to see the source of the attack.

Aurin's many attacks all hit the large and slow moving beast but only one did any penetration. With the monk within grasp, it unleashes an equal flurry of fists and bite but only thrashes about the dodgy monk.

Aurin lets his calm take hold and parries, dodges, and kicks away the great beasts incoming attacks!

He lets his energy flow, knowing that he moves with a righteous fury!

Burn 1 Ki Point for one extra attack at highest attack bonus!

Without losing a beat, the Monk keeps the pressure on the beast with a flurry of hand and kick attacks!

Breeze, knowing he still has a slight advantage, will let loose with another salvo of magical bolts and move so as not to give away his position.

magic missile: 3d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) + 4 + 1 = 13 on the one he hit before

trip: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 on the 1 he hit before

I thought there was something I was missing, Breeze's CMB should be 8, not 13, but listed as 3. Clarify?

caster lvl 8, int mod 5,and 1 for prayer so is actually 14 for that feet. it is different when I use that feet otherwise it would be 3
