I wasn't majorly concerned about things, but was waiting on the end of Solstice Scar to bring Kaya into gameplay. It just wrapped up so I'll get an intro up today. No major changes to the character (info above is correct) and most of those will be updated soon (mainly spells prepared and such).

For some reason I thought the opening description said Kreighton Shaine not Aram Zey as it is clearly written. Glad i put my snarky comment behind spoilers at least.

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

Hi guys, please don't forget to go to the Part 1: Bloodcove Disguise map and place your icon and information.

![]() |

Got it. Thanks for the reminder.
Disclaimer: (normally do this earlier - forgot) Durvak is not bright and I enjoy playing him as such. If his speak and mannerisms become too much, just let me know and I'll adjust it.

![]() |

Disclaimer: Kaya now knows Draconic so... we will never face anyone who speaks that language again. Just saying.
Forewarned (Su): You can always act in the surprise round even if you fail to make a Perception roll to notice a foe, but you are still considered flat-footed until you take an action.
She treats it like a danger sense, when her neck tingles to give her a heads up that shit is about to go down she usually uses her action to cast Shield on herself.

In addition to the wayfinder, Ahmande will sell his cloak of resistance +1 for 500 gp, then purchase the muleback cords of resistance +1 from the last chronicle for 2500 gp. All are noted on my ITS as happening on this chronicle sheet.

So, before we get too much further, the APL is 2.6 as the party is made up.
So do you want to play the 1-2 Tier or the 3-4 Tier. There does not seem to be a '4-player adjustment' written into the scenario if you decide to play up.
Up to you guys, but to play up it needs to be unanimous for both Ren and Sathor. Sorry for not catching this earlier.

![]() |

I am willing to go for the upper tier if the rest of you are down for that. If I survive I will be 3rd for part 2. :)

![]() |

Actually, I don't think we have a choice:
Divide the total number of character levels by the number of characters in the party, rounding to the nearest whole number. If the result of the Average Party Level calculation ends with 0.5, the players should decide whether to round up or down.
...
Scenarios in Seasons 0 through 3 were designed for four characters. For these scenarios, if the APL is between subtiers, a party of six or seven characters must play the higher subtier. Parties with four or five characters must play the lower subtier. (emphasis added)
Either way you look at it, I think we have to play up: 2.6 rounds up to 3 without our input, and we're a 6 player party in a Season 2 scenario.

![]() |

Don’t we only have 5?
Either way I’m fine with playing up, though even if it is an option it isn’t up to me.

![]() |

It sure looks like it. I guess I was assuming we were a standard size table, but we are indeed only 5.
Which then seems like we are forced to play both up and down. Which rule trumps the other?

I read it that the second rule doesn't apply since we aren't between subtiers. The first rule would end the debate since we are rounding up to 3 with a 2.6?

Ahmandé wrote:"Actually, I believe our employer already made arrangement with your for a shipment of supplies."Aram Zey wrote:They need two tons of food and clean water, five crates of arrows and crossbow bolts, and clean dressings for wounds. House Cartahegn is your best choice as the Society works with them occasionally. We already arranged payment to a caravan leader named Raimondo Scevola several weeks ago.Just to clarify, payment was made to transport the goods. The Society recommended House Cartahegn to you, but has not made any purchases or other arrangements with them.
Oops. Feel free to either retcon my post to say that we're looking for goods, or we can use my in-character confusion to kick-start the conversation about the supplies we need. I'm okay with either.

@GM, just checking to make sure that I did this right. Could this have been done as an upgrade to the cloak of resistance +1 for the price difference (1,500 gp) instead of selling the one to buy the other?

I took at look at that item (since it was from my game). It seems like an uncommon thing to have a special item that combines two existing items. In non-society play, one can obviously leave this up to GM discretion (and most GM's would probably be fine with the existing cloak being upgraded).
Page 20 of the 2018 PFS Guide says the following, "For ease of play, items of the same kind can be upgraded from a masterwork item to a magic item by paying the difference in cost of the two items. However, you can’t turn items of one type into another (e.g., you can’t turn a masterwork rapier into a +1 greatsword). Mundane items cannot be upgraded to masterwork items, nor can nonmagical aspects of equipment be upgraded, such as the strength rating on a composite bow."
Well poop, that doesn't really clarify anything considering a cloak of resistance is still the same item type as the cloak of resistance + muleback cord special item.
Okay, so I have some really good news here.
"Named magic items—including specific armor and specific weapons—are not upgradeable. Non-magic specific armor and specific weapons may be upgraded normally. Magic armor and weapons may be upgraded to named versions if they are the same basic material and shape as, and meet but do not exceed the enhancement bonuses of the named versions. Wondrous items whose names include a +X value (such as bracers of armor, headband of vast intelligence, amulet of might fists, etc.) may also be upgraded following the rules for upgrading magical items on page 19 of the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play."
I would say since that is on the Paizo Society FAQ page it is pretty clear that you could take your cloak of resistance and upgrade it into the muleback cords of resistance by paying the difference instead of selling and buying.
If anyone finds anything to disagree with that stuff or just disagrees with my assumptions, I'm always open to discussion.

Looks right to me GM.
First time Durvack's been successfully crit. :-)

Croaki |

There are two Croakis on the map the one in the doorway is where Croaki will be if Sarathor didnt finish the black ant the one well into the room is where croaki will be if Sarathor did knock the black ant out of the fight. Please remove the wrong one Mr GM

I'm leaving in the morning for a trip and will be gone for about a week.
While I'm gone, I will have extremely limited internet access. Don't hesitate to bot me if needed.

![]() |

I think Durvak will need botted.

![]() |

I have returned to the land of the internet. I am refreshed and hopefully rejuvenated...we shall see.
I have over 260 work e-mails to sort through today from my absence...but will be working on catching up on my games throughout the day today as well.

Baby pending, at hospital. Bot if needed.

Baby Update: My wife and I welcomed our son into the world Monday evening. Due to a very stressful labor we have been delayed going home but everyone is doing great. I’ll keep an eye out for any rolls needed, but my RP will be limited until we make it home. Thanks!

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

I would just like to thank you for ensuring the continuance of the human race. Please accept this reward of sleepless nights for the foreseeable future.
Seriously, congratulations.

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

Hi all. I am heading to Seattle for a few days, so I probably won't be able to post from Sunday to Wednesday.

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

Yeah, back from Seattle and rarin' to go. Will get a post up tonight or tomorrow morning.

![]() |

This is unfortunate timing with the revival of the forums, but I am heading into the woods for the weekend to go float down a river. I won't be back until Sun PM, so expect regular posting from me to resume again on Monday.

![]() |

Oooh, river floating. Sounds fun!

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

I believe so, but cannot find anything to confirm that in writing.

![]() |

Kaya, your Zone of Truth responses make prepping that spell worthwhile on their own!
:-D

![]() |

Ahmande still has his shirt reroll; I'll use that on his Dayjob check:
Perform (oratory): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
...and that's the exact same result, haha!

![]() |

Ditto about using the re-roll.
Craft (Jewelry): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

![]() |

hopping on the reroll band wagon here
ReRoll Profession Life Coach: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 2 = 16

![]() |

Could you make a note on the Chronicle that in her downtime, Kaya will be borrowing a spellbook and adding a couple lvl 2 spells to her own spellbook? This costs 40g to scribe and 20g to borrow per lvl 2 spell and requires a Spellcraft DC 17 success.
She will be adding Resist Energy and Gust of Wind (120g total). She will take 10 (for a 19) on the spellcraft checks. Thanks!
I'm not sure if this is something that has to be to be on the chronicle, but I'm trying to be more safe than sorry. :P

![]() |

Any word on the chronicles?

GM Doom 'n Gloom |

Admittedly a little behind. Work and family have decided to conspire against me in a devious ambush. Coming as soon as possible, but not before Friday.
