Hey, JohnnyBlack, just checking in as it's been a little over a month. Everything still good on your end?
Aberus Ocellio
A post on one of his other games suggests he's been slammed at work.
Uriel Aurelius
Since I hadn't posted this yet...

Path Ability: Fires of Dawn (1 mythic power to use a slightly improved version of Fire Shield (warm shield only).
Mythic Feat: Mythic Power Attack
If HeroLab is to be believed, I think I noticed that something happens with Radiance too, but I'm not sure I should know that, GM.
Fires of Dawn is maybe not the most powerful choice, but it's really thematic for a paladin of Ragathiel:
Fires of Dawn (Su) [Sarenrae] (Mythic Origins pg. 7): As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to burst into flames. You are protected as though by fire shield (warm shield), except the flames deal a number of points of fire damage equal to 1d8 + double your tier to attackers. A creature wielding a melee weapon with reach is still affected by this damage. These flames last for 1 minute per tier or until you dismiss them as a free action.
...HeroLab doesn't have the [Sarenrae] tag. Just to be sure, are you ok with me taking it, GM?

Leet us know when to actually apply the level up, I'm assuming after we get to rest.
JohnnyBlack
A couple of housekeeping items:
- We have finished "The Worldwound Incursion". Congratulations! It mentions "The PCs finally have a chance to rest and recover. With the pulse of sacred energy along the border having slain so many demons and driven off the others, the incursion of Kenabres ends. The PCs can explore and investigate their new powers, or spend a few well deserved days to relax with friends. As days wear on, the crusaders likely grow nervous in anticipation of the next of the demonic attacks, as the wardstones are no more." So if your characters want to finish some side quests, interact between themselves or other NPCs or do some "downtime", now it is. Let me know when you are ready to continue with "Sword of Valor", the next adventure.
- MYTHIC CAMPAIGN TRAITS!
If your campaign trait is associated with the mythic path you choose, you gain an enhancement on your trait.
You can see them HERE, in the section "Mythic Bonus" of each trait.
If it applies to your character, take it into account.
Alexa Dorne
Alrighty, just finished applying Alexa's level-up!
About her family...
Terris: Alexa's father. Broad-shouldered man with closely-cut grey-streaked black hair, blue eyes and a fondness for dressing in black. Used to work as a carpenter in Kenabres before the demonic crusade tore the city asunder--and as a carpenter in their old village of Greenleaf before demonic invaders destroyed it. Somewhat tight-lipped, but unwaveringly protective of his family, hates demons with a passion and is resentful of the Crusaders for conscripting Alexa.
Ophelia: Alexa's mother. Fair of skin, with long, grey-streaked brown hair and grey eyes. Prefers to dress in soft blues. Used to work as an artist in Kenabres, specializing in creating beautiful wood carvings. Hard as solid oak, and the more outspoken of the two when it comes to the flaws of the Crusaders.
Kelvim: Alexa's older brother. Longer black hair and quite muscular, taking after their father. Was also a carpenter before Kenabres was invaded by demons. Puts on an aloof air to hide his insecurities and fears.
Wilhem: Alexa's younger brother. Closely-cropped brown hair and rounder of face than his older brother. Has gentle blue eyes and a preference for dressing in practical, straw-coloured clothes. Used to be a painter before Kenabres went up in smoke. A wide-eyed ingenue who doesn't always pick up on social cues.
Miles: Alexa's youngest brother, who recently turned thirteen when the demons attacked Kenabres. Short black hair and bright blue eyes, with a fondness for dressing in grey. Idolizes his big sister--to the point where he once ran off beyond the city walls because he wanted to be a big hero like her. Recent events have taken a toll on him, but he's since decided that he wants to help fight the good fight anyway.
Alexa Dorne
They were, and aside from Miles, she has not.
Personally, I have no idea whether they're dead, lost, captured or otherwise. I would appreciate it if they were recently found, but given that we're in the middle of a war, I can readily accept them being any of the above.
Arloric Dziergas-Highbough
There's also Arloric's uncle, Crocris: a half-elf druid and the groundskeeper of Truestone Park in the city (he's an NPC mentioned in the Kenabres article in Book 1 of the AP, I just incorporated him into Arloric's backstory as his guardian and teacher as well). So far there's been no sign of him.
Darya Flamekissed
I mean, I don't have a +1 weapon. It's a war, we probably shouldn't be turning down anything that'll make us fight better.
Aberus Ocellio
Checking in as well. Everything OK, JohnnyBlack?
Aberus Ocellio
Hey gang, it's been a couple of months since we've done anything in game, and a month since we've heard from our GM, so it feels like it's time to ask the question: where do we go from here? Our GM hasn't been active on any of his games in a while, and his last updates suggested he is having a time crunch.
Do we want to wait, move on with a new GM, or call it? My offer from last year still stands.
JohnnyBlack
Hi!
Yes, sorry, I am swamped with work, and it doesn't seem like it is going to get easier soon. We have finished book 1, and are about to start book 2, so it is a great time to get a new Dm with time in his hands.
Sorry for bowing out, but I have to accept I don't have the time to DM anymore.
Uriel Aurelius
I’m fine with that. Probably better odds of keeping him than if we bringing another GM from outside.
Aberus Ocellio
JohhnyBlack, thank you for the time you put in for us. I totally understand how life commitments can get in the way of gaming. I am appreciative that you were able to get us to the end of book 1. So thanks again!
Darya Flamekissed
I'm all for it. Thank you JohnnyBlack for your time running for us, and thank you Aberus for being willing to take over.
Darya Flamekissed
Technically we're down a primary healer, but we have two Paladins so there's a lot of Lay on Hands/Channel to go around. Divine casting would be the biggest deficiency. My archetype makes me a non-caster, as does Uriel's
Aberus Ocellio
2 people marked this as a favorite.
There are enough Paladins here that losing a dedicated healer is probably not going to hurt too much. I'll be conservative at first until I get a feel for your resource management. And I fully expect the Mythic rules will take us into Wackyland, anyway, so it may become moot.
Sario hasn't checked in lately. Does someone want to reach out to them? And Kelly's not spoken up yet, but it sounds like we have a quorum so...I am officially in and will work with JohnnyBlack and Paizo to get this campaign transitioned. I'll get us started this weekend, unless the earth opens up and swallows us all...in which case, maybe Tuesday?
As a GM, I tend to play about the way Aberus has been played in the campaign to date. So, what you saw from him at the start is pretty much what you'll get from me as a GM--basically a straight tone with occasional humor as the situation warrants it. But I also want to meet your needs, so if you want banter in combat, or some other change in tone, just let me know. I want us all to have fun, and for you to have the game you want!
If, like Alexa, you have some personal history or familial ties that you want to weave in, PM me and I'll do what I can. I'll make one promise right up front: I won't kill family or harm family members off screen or put them in danger as plot points unless you agree to scenarios in advance, or it's otherwise something you are specifically wanting. Or, I suppose, if you decide you're related to an NPC in the AP...in which case, you have already agreed in advance. :)
Aberus Ocellio
Was there any treasure gained?
There is our loot sheet here. Which I can continue to maintain since I know tracking loot is not always fun.
My loot tracking philosophy is: make it easy on everyone. When you reach a downtime point, it gets converted to cash and you'll each get a share of the pile. You can buy items from the loot pile at their sale value (half price). If there's not enough of an item to go around (e.g. 3 people want 2 swords) then you work it out with each other.
If someone wants to make appraisal or diplomacy rolls to try and get more out of things, or find buyers for specific items, then we'll work it out individually.
Darya Flamekissed
Works for me, aside from anything that's immediately useful, in terms of loot.
GM the Fifth
First off, hey everyone! This is Aberus posting under my shiny new GM alias.
Works for me, aside from anything that's immediately useful, in terms of loot.
Until it's sold it's available for you to use (I'd been trying to keep track of our use of consumables as we've gone along).
What I'm really saying here is that I don't want to artificially drag out the process of dealing with loot. That, and inertia tends to be a big obstacle.
Kenabres at this stage has the following marketplace stats:
Base Value 4,400 gp; Purchase Limit 10,000 gp; Spellcasting 4th
Technically that purchase limit is lower than the item total (even excluding Irabeth's sword, which was gifted to Darya), but I'm going to hand-wave that limit away just this once since we've just had this growing pile since literally day 1.
I'll give you a sale and item summary shortly.
