OK. I'm feeling much more confident in Gwen right now. I still have to do some shopping, but she's got her combat gear and armor. Frankly, I'd be just as happy if I didn't have to shop. I'll probably pick up a couple CLW potions in case she gets isolated or the cleric goes down.

A couple notes, I've copied the Questions to a section at the bottom of her sheet for your convenience. I didn't see your comments when I posted them separately, so I suspect you may have missed them.

Her NPC class is expert, not warrior. I started rebuilding her that way before Fa'zakar checked in, and I'm not going to go back to the warrior build. I do like having the extra skills.

Sorry this is taking so long. Hopefully you'll stamp her 'Approved'.

Right! You will have learned that Fa'zakar is an herbalist and liked to help out the cook onboard. He also helped what passed for a ship's medic, sometimes making salves or teas to help with infected gashes or the night sweats. He is pleasant, and though he talks easily with you and others, you may realize that he does not talk a lot about his past...not that uncommon on a boat full of pioneers, though!

Fa'zakar travels alone and has no particular bonds to anyone aboard, even though he seems to know most everyone. He seemed almost at home on the moving ship, never loosing his footing or stumbling when a wave rolled them unexpectedly.

Alright, both Fa'zakar and Gwen look good (although Gwen's mind blade damage should still be 2d6+5 - 2d6 + 1.5Str + 1). I'll introduce them soon. Until then, tell me anything you'd like me to know about what you did between shipwreck and now.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Just double-checked your sheets again. Looks like Fa'Zakar is missing Dex-to-damage and Gwen is missing the +1 ability adjustment from level 4. Also, is her Con 10 or 11?

Gwen is a farmer. Like many of them, she's traveling with family, husband, pregnant sister, brother-in-law, and a nephew. During the trip she was very willing to talk about anything except her husband. She and he didn't keep company on the trip. It might have had something to do with an altercation between them early in the voyage. Some things she'd have talked about would be growing up as a farm girl, snowy winters, life on the road, summer nights, life in an itinerant acting troupe,...

Gwen was at the forefront of a group a passengers who complained about their housing conditions. They were able to secure a few hours more deck access for the landlubbers. Thereafter, Gwen often spent evenings, but not nights, with the captain. She was often out on deck outside the normal times allotted to the settlers.

Sugar! Trying to find all my mistakes is like peeling onions. The base stats in the spoiler are right. At least I think they add up to 15. Then +2 strength racial adjustment, and you're right about the +1 for 4th level. Put that in Con.

Also fixed her mindblade damage.

Between the wreck and now, Gwen would be seeing to the health and safety of her family in particular, and the settlers in general. Oh, and keeping an eye out for her missing husband. She'd probably be slightly at odds with the Blades, because she feels that they feel that they are better than the settlers.

)Fa'zakar would be keeping his head down overall, although the masterwork studded leather armor, masterwork rapier, and masterwork cold iron short sword he "found" in the wreckage seems oddly familiar and easily used by an herbalist merely escaping the boredom of a port town.

He would be primarily looking out for himself, but he also makes sure the children are protected and cared for. He personally mends their torn clothes and makes sure he checks everything that the kids eat and drink, often tasting small bits first "to make sure they won't hurt the little ones." (Exceptionally perceptive folks may notice the strange hand gestures or the weird things he mutters under his breath as he either sews the clothes or tastes the food...

As much as possible, though, Fa'zakar avoids conflict with anyone, preferring to laugh at insult or accede to stronger bullies. Yet somehow he always seems to have enough to get by, and to spare something for the kids...

Hey Fa'Zakar - have you read the Unchained Rogue?

Anyway, finesse training is with one weapon of your choice (until, I believe, 11th level). Short swords or rapiers?

I'll post an intro for the two of you - probably today.

Human Adept 1 / Rogue 3 | AC-16 T-13 FF-13 | HP 24/24 | F +1 R +6 W +5 | Init +3 | Perc +10 (+11 vs. traps)

I read it when you pointed it out to me, but never actually played with these rules. So I thought I caught the differences, but apparently not. And I didn't buy that mod for HeroLab, so no easy updating my character sheet =( Thought that I added dex bonus to all damage, but must have read it too fast before. So I'll pick rapier. Profile updated - thanks!

Go, post! It's basic but we gotta get goin'!

Can someone give me a quick rundown on the stats for First Landing? I vaguely remember reading that we are not doing well on food but i don't know how badly.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

There are about 90 people in First Landing. There are maybe ten wooden buildings that were put up before all the unpleasantness, so most people are sleeping in tents or on the ground, or in little wooden lean-tos. There is a 6th-level cleric who can create food and water, but cannot do so enough times per day to feed everyone. On top of that, there are a few hundred pounds of food stockpiled from shipwreck remnants. As such, without any input of food the settlement has enough food to survive for about 15 days. However, the recent problems all resolved themselves, allowing the farms to be re-occupied and the hunters to hunt.

As long as the hunters survive until harvest time, the settlement won't run out of food. As long as the farms survive to harvest time, the settlement will survive through the winter.

No worries, Sulan.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I missed leinathan's spoiler for Fa'zakar and Gwen.

leinathan, based on the spoiler, Gwen's only been at the colony for a day or so. Unless you say otherwise, I'm going to roll with her sister's family having been there for longer, and Gwen's husband still missing.

Re: letter, Yosiah's people use Arcadian, which I think nobody speaks except for Murob, who's been learning it over the last few days. We used French for it.

Ah, so they wouldn’t understand Inner Sea common? Ya might wanna bring that up IC then because he doesn’t know that detail.

With all due respect if there is not a tentacle within melee reach of me then I’m not really able to be grappled am I? Putting itself into stabbing distance is kind of a prerequisite (even if it’s not ALL of itself).

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Yes - you're right. Being grappled automatically pulls you adjacent to the creature and avoids the whole "arm/tentacle is not a valid target" weirdness.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Throw Gwen's rations into the common pot and be absolved of book keeping? Yes please!

I don’t suppose getting dragged out to sea is considered hazardous enough to trigger the free save is it?

Btw, I think the forum ate it when I said it earlier, but Victor is sharing his rations too since he has more than enough daily rations to provide for himself and a few others.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

I wouldn't say so, no. Water doesn't deal any damage.

You will get that free check if he attempts to drag you underwater, though, since you can die down there.

Hey question, does Gwen’s spear have any visual effects denoting it’s strangeness? Victor’s Blades for instance are softly glowing energy blades, but yours is apparently being channeled through your Weapon I think you said?

Btw if you wanna know what Victor’s soul blades look like they are basically a Halo energy sword but in the shape of an actual longsword.

Vacationing this week. Hope to have internet every night, but who knows. If I'm holding things up feel free to play Rehil.

Hey - I'm in Morocco from 1-10 May! Cool =)

I'm also at a church retreat this coming weekend and will not have any access, so please bot me as needed during both of these periods!

>Tentacular

Well there's an adjective i never expected to see lol.

I’m ready to move on, though at some point Victor wants to get ahold of Murob and Ehiz to ask them for a favor

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Apologies for the delay - I've been marshaling mental imagery, and dealing with my other games. I also wanted to maybe give a little time to RP, but I guess it's not the time.

I'll move onward to the shore when I next have a long moment to hang out on my PC. Probably tonight.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Sorry, between vacation and taking Gwen below to dry off, I didn't push the RP possibilities.

Dude, I had a special plan for breakfast. I like, literally said that two posts ago. >_>

I know we don’t have to go in-depth about every meal but this was a thing he was gonna do as a thank you.

Since we aren't really in too big a rush, are we allowed to take 10 on the Climb checks?

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Sure, if you like.

Was "Zachary" an autocorrect?

Well, everyone, today I leave for a two-week trip to Morocco! Because of the out-of-the-way places our trip will be going, I will most likely be completely off-grid until May 12th. Please bot Fa'zakar as your friendly neighborhood rogue! He prefers shooting at range, especially if he can get a sneak attack in. If he's up close he dual-wields his rapier and shortsword when possible, again looking for flanks and sneak attacks. His spells are something he tries to hide and uses them more for flavor and safety than anything else. Thanks, and look forward to catching up with you all!

Fair warning I may be sporadic for this week and half of next. Allergies and Finals are a match made in HELL.

dangit, didn't catch that error in the formatting till just after edit time was up

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

I'll update forward later tonight. Thanks for your patience and planning, everyone!

Whoops! I didn't do it, but I have an excuse! I tried a half-dozen times to log onto Paizo but it claimed that I "didn't have an internet connection" (when I clearly did).

I think it's possible Google Chrome was blocked (I live in China, they do that stuff sometimes). I'll look into it and experiment with another browser.

A... wire fence? what?

Edit: I am so baffled currently, this is causing some crazy chronal dissonance in my head. Are wire fences actually a thing?

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Clearly they are ;)

but is it, like, normal? or something weird?
