Is it dark in the room? Or did just the teleportation magic light go away?
Also, who has the gem we found in this room? One of the ones who jumped into the light?

Dinetta looks to Revhi: Gotta look for a way to reopen the light portal.
With that, she picks up the Jade eye and begins looking for a way to use it, perhaps?

Ok Marcus! We need to wait for the others!
Marcus gets up and looks around Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

You land with a hard thump. The light is gone. This room is empty save for three portals in the south, east and west walls. The southern portal hums with a blue variation. kn: arcana or spellcraft.
Meanwhile revhi and Jean jump up and down where the light was located thinking there is some strange doorway that took their comrades.

Seems to be some type of eye.
Realizing that it is sometimes best to not be seen, she takes a small piece of fabric and places it one the gem. She will secure it there, and if necessary will use her gloves (Mage Hand) to hold the fabric in place.

There is quick flash, then the white light returns catching Revhi and Jean as they jump in place. As Dinetta turns to see what is happening, the light disappears along with her comrades.
damage, fall: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
All of a sudden you are falling and thump hard on the ground.

Dinetta sighs as two more of her companions suddenly disappear. Unsure whether it was she who caused the disappearance, she steps to where the light was and then once more uses her Mage Hand ability to cover the green gem with some cloth.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Unlike the rest, the small librarian drops from the light, makes a quick roll and recovers to her feet before the rest of the party can blink.
Where are we? What have you all discovered?
As she says this, she looks around the new room.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 <-- +2 more for traps

The light is gone. This room is empty save for three portals in the south, east and west walls. The southern portal hums with a blue variation,it similar to a wall of force. You understand that you can destroy it with brute force.
Dinetta then it dawns on you, perhaps the golden staff could turn the wall of force if you touched the two.
I need to load up the map.

Dinetta looks to the door.
It might turn off if we used the staff. I don't know if we could turn it back on, but no reason to spend the energy breaking it down if we can just turn it off.

![]() |

My thought is to deactivate the door to the south first to see if there is anything there. If others want to take the east or west door, I am good with that.
Perception (east door): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Perception (west door): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Dinetta checks the east and west doors, listening for anything behind and also to see if there are any traps apparent.

Let's go clockwise Marcus says

Seeing that the room appears to be empty, Dinetta points to the door on the far wall.
Lets check the far door before we drop the wall of force. It might be designed to keep us out, or something else in. Better to make sure that there is nothing behind door number three so that we do not get flanked.
Proceed and open/check the east door.

Dinetta enters the room, her attention on the odd looking items on the worktable. There is a half assembled bat looking mechanical device, similar to what you've seen buzzing around from time-to-time.
Meanwhile Jerome hesitates in the doorway unsure of himself.
Markus pushes past Jerome. His eyes scanning the room, he looks over the door and notices another gem lodged there. It looks like the one where the light beam was located.
jean and Revhi what are you doing?

baldwin the merciful |

Revhi, Jean, and Jerome are surprised when the portal into the workroom quickly closes. Leaving the three companions separated from the others. the quickness of the door shutting startles Dinetta and puts Marcus in an immediate defensive stance. A vibration within the chamber is fealt as spider cracks emerge on the watertanks. The door is shut between the two groups.

The librarian is startled with the door closure. She sees the danger of the spidering tanks and climbs up onto the nearest table.
