I think open recruitment, a high percentage of games dies on the PBP boards, this one is strong. We are nearing the upper tiers of successful threads and when you consider that we have done it in under 3 months that is fantastic.

You can move through friendly squares. At times it seems odd but those are the rules.

Guys, I just got done with my first week of college and I'm starting work alongside it next week. Between that stuff and homework I really don't think I'm going to have much time to myself, and what time I do have, I'd rather spend offline getting to know people.

I see there are 29 new messages in the recruitment thread, I'm heading there now to read.

What's the groups thoughts on a group of 6, instead of 5? Throw that out there for you to ponder. I know is game is NPC heavy and I really like that and really don't want to change that too much either.

We can see how it goes with posting rates. I like the NPC stuff as well

Soemthing to consider so you don't get swamped with playing the NPCs, The Player who has their contact with the NPCs can do the Rp between them (They can hold conversations and such and actions that don't majorly change the situation)

For example..

Duncan pounded the metal on the anvil. "Grumm, could ya hold this down a bit for me?"

Grumm nodded 'Sure thing, just get your hand wiped so it doesn't fly off."

Is ok while

Duncan opened Grumm's vault and took out 5 magic swords. 'Can I have these?"

Grumm nodded "Help yourself" he responded as Duncan left with the +1 sword

I have seen several Skull and Shackles threads hwere the players would roll the results of tasks such as fixing the ship and Rp other NPCs commenting on their skill and lack thereof. So having, say Orsin rping a party at the hideout would be both entertaining and work-light for Baldwin

I have no objections to a 6 person party. As long as pace is maintained.

My preference is for 1 of the 2 ranger applicants to Replace Shinon, since he has gone.
I like Sunsets magus idea or Sunphoenix's EK.

Any of those can be a stealthy roguish type. But better.
But then I think rogues are a poor class.

I wouldn't mind 6 so long as the pace stays the same, but I've gotta say that I'm VERY keen on the lack of a full arcane caster in the party.

It adds this really awesome level of potential lethality, grizzly combat, and a need for creative problem solving that so often can fall by the wayside when there's a sorcerer/wizard in the party. (And this is coming from someone who's never really played anything besides a full-casting arcanist. Well, until now that is.)

I like the Lucrezia and Andres submissions, but I know that as the new guy my input may not have as much weight as the veterans. ;)

I know the group is missing a full arcane caster. It does add uncertainty for the party. It also limits the group from steamrolling every situation.

Enemy flight stops Duncan from steamrolling every situation. Anything else dies.

Maybe. Haven't decided yet. More Interested In invisibility. I'll make him a stealthy hairball of Death!

What I am really saving for is a Lesser cloak of Displacement. I'mshooting for Moonlight Stalker feat.

Lucrezia how do you see your character progressing classwise is there anything you would like to switch or see occur with her? I've brought on a full rogue trapsmith, so if you want to change some of your build that's ok, you don't have too, but it is ok. I'm pretty easy with letting character's change. Andrea had a change of diety which was a fun roleplay scenario.

I liked your background...tons of creative stuff for me to work with there.

Curently the PC's are battling the Bastards of Erebus a bandit group in their liar. I've already created the entry hook for your character. Give me a few minutes and I will post it on the Game Thread under a spoiler for you.

General Knowledge:

Westcrown was once the prize in Aroden, the god of humanity, innovation and history’s, cap but all that changed after his death in 4606 A.R. What followed chaos. The rise of the Thrice Damned House of Thrune saw Westcrown spiral out of control. There was 30-yer civil war and the devil worshipping House of Thrune solidified control. Eventually the capital of Cheliax was moved away from Westcrown to Egorian and over time much of the wealth and nobility followed.

There are 12 remaining powerful noble families and each noble family has a few smaller beholden families tied to the them.

In order to settle down the crime and chaos in the city, an agreement between an unknown force and the new government in Cheliax was made many years ago. As long as people stay inside well lit houses or on one of the few well lit streets, nighttime crime would come to an end as shadowbeast rule the night.

Although recently there have been a string of missing or dead merchants and nobles within the city and other crimes have been on the rise.

Read the discussion posts from today, I explained a few things there about how to visually set up your profile for my convenice.

Max HP level one then you roll out subsequent level, reroll 1's.

I only hve two houserules that I've incorparated inot the game. Natural one's on attack rules could be fumble or snapped string on a ranged weapon. When you roll a on, then make a dex check add in your modifier below 10 means you've dropped the melee weapon or snapped a bow string/dropped the throwing weaon. Pretty basic stuff.

Also, I use Fortitude Saves to wake people up if attacked at night. Orsin slept through most of a battle already.

I thought about having her keep progressing up her ranger class. But that thought may change after I play her a bit and see how she develops in game. Everyone can feel free to offer up suggestions. :)

I'll look over my sheet again and see if there is anything I may wish to change.

Glad you liked the background, it was fun to work on. Have some more ideas for it too.

Between the others and myself, we can fill you in on important NPCs and events that have happened. Andrea actually has a tab in her profile regarding NPC's.

For the most part everyone tends to describe the action that is associated with most dice rolls. That way it's not just a bunch of numbers on a page.

I use a lot of maps that are created on Maptools. You don't need the program. Just click on the blue text that has the map description and it pops up. It helps me out to tell me which grid cooridinate you are moving from and into or attacking. Like move from G7 to M6, attacking goblin in M5. You can put that technical information in ooc, so it reads well.

I will roll out initiative and put the details under a spoiler then I list the order. I usually put a map up at this point. Often I will use Mid-Round Recaps, so everyone knows who has acted and who needs to act. At the end of the round I provide descriptive Recap of the action. Feel free to look at Game thread to see what I'm rambling about.

I really don't mind if people post out of order, especially if they aren't going to be around. I will fit the action in the best way possible. I will skip people to keep the action going, you can fill in your action when you can. I do DMPC characters when necessary.
