I'm just happy that by being at the top of the party inish that everyone will get to benefit from my IC right away, unlike most encounters where you guys don't get it til the bottom of the first round and then into round 2. :/

The crone has an excellent defensive spot in there and knows we are ready to stab her if she comes out so she will no doubt be staying put unless we toss some spells in there.

Daniel wouldn't press the point in the middle of a fight, but backing up (allowing her to stand with no AOO) is stupid.

I don't think I've ever had an NPC stand up and take an AOO after they've been knocked down. Why stand and take the potential hit, to only be knocked back down. I've always simply taken the -4 melee penalty.

I guess things have just gotten too obtuse for me. Blame my dislike of adventure games for the computer and being a regular buyer of hint books because I just can't clue in on what puzzle has been presented before me.

So I guess breaking that little item was wrong. *shrug*

To be fair to others so that they don't have to sit around I will finish writing up Icabhod Tilneros and Andrea shall meet her fate. her story is over in my eyes and bad stuff like this happens. I'm actually rather excited because I now have a better understanding of the Pathfinder rules and can use that knowledge better.

While I was annoyed, I remembered what you said and took a step back and realized that I did pull open the door and this time really have only myself to blame, so it is just something I need to keep in mind.

Edit: Basically there was a puzzle/solution that I did not understand so I took actions that seemed most logical to me and it appears they were not the correct ones. The items found were obtuse I admit since in your mind perhaps 'Do this action which should be logical' instead is 'I don't understand what this means' to me.

Not angry since emotion is hard to get across the internet so my face is A puzzled emoticon and a question mark next to it.

There's no reason to be annoyed you are the center of attention right now...spotlight's on you.

Breaking the chain wasn't wrong but it didn't do anything for your situation. There are clues for Andrea as to who the occupant is, think about the room description that I gave. Another clue occurred when Azreal pulled on the door knob neither party knows what happened or why it happened but it's subtle clue. There is more to game than the hack and slash.

Nothing fatal has happened to Andrea at this point. Sometimes simple actions can be the best.

As far as the others are concerned they have actions they can take or try. This would have happened to anyone who touched the doorknob and I actually thought Gerard would be person but he never indicated that he touched the door.

well annoyance in the sense that something annoying has happened. Like money falls down a drain. It is a small annoyance but as long as it wasn't solid gold I will survive.

You enter a large well appointed bedroom that looks like it is housing a guest. Although the occupant is not present at this time. The cherry sleigh bed looks comfortable and the blankets are disheveled, there is a matching cherry cabinet that has long mirror, there is window with drawn crushed velvet curtains. In the corner there is a pair of mens laced dress boots.

If I was supposed to get the boots I unfortunately never said I took the boots. so they are still chilling out next tot he bed.

It's not getting the boots but you should realize that the owner of those boots is probably the person in the here with you. The necklace happened to be on him when he touched the cabinet. You figure that the box holds only one LIVING person at a time.

So if I Get another living thing in here, I might be able to be ejected out. Summon Monster could do that but unfortunately the silence field prevents that(That Bag of Tricks from Delvehaven would have been useful)

Andrea probably didn't appreciate that little dimensional wardrobe trap especially since that was a DM created device. I wanted to playtest it for something I'm writing.

Gerard failed the initial perception check and the device had a permanent magic aura spell to prevent detection. The dimensional wardrobe permitted only one living creature to be teleported inside at a time. The first occupant was the person whose boots Gerard is now wearing. The cabinet had a permanent deeper darkness and silent spell in place. Any damage, or movement, to the cabinet caused amplified harm to the occupant.

Any fans of complex traps would appreciate Sword & Sworcery's book, "The Wurst of Grimtooth's Traps."

I am familiar with the S&S people over at the Necromancer Games forum before they closed and became Frog God Games. The Slumbering Tsar series has been played on the board along with your Rapan Athuk game. I have the 3.5 version fo Rapan Athuk Reloaded but decided that buying the PF version was just to big an expense.

I also have/had the original Grimtooth traps books from..Flying Buffalo I think.
