Guards, one in each of the towers and two patrolling the walls. There's more around the keep probably watching the other gate. If we are fast we won't face much resistance.

Asher points at the tower, talking quietly to Alwyn. ”See the pilon with the pile of timber in front of it? Third one front the left? The pile of wood has been leaning against it, and pushed it off center. If we shove that joint about two meters off the ground, it should cause the whole thing to buckle, and the weight of the whole thing will bring itself down. Could even tip it towards the wall. ” He holds up his fist, drawing attention to a ring on his finger carved like rams horns, and smiles.


The guard pushes open the stable door. He doesn't expect to find a halfling behind it who promptly smashes him in the ribs.

OK, the guard is surprised and doesn't get an attack in the surprise round. Camlo's readied action goes off and he hits the guard. However, as it is a surprise round, Camlo gets only a single action - he doesn't have the time to get a second attack as that would require a full-round action. On that basis, he does his non-lethal damage but it's not enough - just - to take the hellknight down. So we move on to the first full round of action. The hellknight must roll his initiative - if he rolls lower or equal to Camlo, Camlo gets to hit him again (with the second attack rolled above) before he can cry out (and he'll hit and the hellknight will go down without attracting any attention). If the hellknight rolls higher, he is able to act first.

Guard initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

The guard doubles over and Camlo slams the hilt of his sword into his temple. The hellknight grunts softly and falls.

The violence has left Crag unsettled. In the tunnel Dravite snaps. "I'm going out there to check on my girl," he growls as he pushes past and creeps his way towards the stables.

Dravite's Stealth check 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25


Dravite makes it to the stables without being spotted, finding Camlo and the fallen hellknight. He approaches Crag and strokes her nose. "There, there, my wee girl, it's allright," he whispers. Crag quietens now she has her master nearby, and together Dravite and Camlo are able to get the horses ready.

"Where are you now?" calls the guard exasperatedly from the wall to his fellow who (unknown to him) lies tied up in one of the stalls.

The nearest guard on the wall continues to stare determinedly outwards, oblivious to the activity inside the bailey. But the hellknight on the tower glances back as Asher's injudiciously loud whisper alerts him. He spies Gil and Asher lurking about by the entrance to the secret door.

"THE PRISONERS! THE PRISONERS HAVE ESCAPED!" He reaches over and begins claning the alarm bell as he yells.

Roll initiative, everyone (don't forget Dravite - I'm currently using his stats that Fakey rolled up back in the day).

Rather shamelessly, we've been ignoring Illes and Elisile - they are now marked on the map and their initiatives added. I'll control them.
