Janosz Frogshanks |
The technician delays for now, as the ogre mage's SR will likely thwart anything he tries.
The remaining redcloaks charge the last giant.
RC2 charges to O5:
Attack roll 12+10+1(haste)+2(charge)=AC 25, damage 1d8+2=10
RC3 charges to O6:
Attack roll 11+10+1(haste)+2(charge)=AC 24, damage 1d8+2=7
That leaves room for the big cat to get in on the ogre-ripping action.
Kazadar, then Gil.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
OK, don't read the spoiler, then.
When you charge you have to go to the closest square, so I'll place the two Redcloaks as such. They both take AoOs.
AoO on RC2 1d20 + 21 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 21 - 2 = 37 to hit, damage 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (6, 6) + 11 = 23
AoO on RC3 1d20 + 21 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 21 - 2 = 25 to hit, damage 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (2, 4) + 11 = 17
Both of the soldiers take a battering as they close on the last giant, but their swords taste blood.
Kaz.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
[dice=spellcraft]1d20+13 can i tell what she did to go away?
also, can I go through LM's square as an ally or no? not sure based on their standing in this fight.
You can't tell specifically since there were no V/S/M components, but the pop of air afterwards makes you think she's used some sort of teleportation effect. You can move through Meira's space.
Kazadar Soranath |
Kazadar moves back into the room to see to the giant about some difference in opinion. (R/S//9/10)
"Your Highness? Lieutenant? Where might that b++*# have gotten off to? Does she have any targets here that you can think of?"
single move, vital strike vs H3. attacking with reach so no AoO
atk: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36
dmg: 4d8 + 14 ⇒ (7, 8, 5, 3) + 14 = 37
Janosz Frogshanks |
"If blue-face wants to die for his master, I'll be happy to indulge him. Someone might want to sit on the Karrn officer, though, to keep her from injuring herself."
5' step to H9, all attacks go on the remaining giant. I'm using Rapid Shot, Manyshot, Deadly Aim (-3 penalty to hit included below) and Clustered Shots.
Attack 1: 10+17+1(haste)=AC 28, damage 2d8+22+2d6 fire+2d6 electricity = 31+9 fire +6 electricity.
Attack 2: 12+17+1=AC 30, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity = 16+6 fire + 2 electricity.
Attack 3: 11+12+1=AC 24, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity = 13+2 fire+5 electricity.
Attack 4: 3+7+1=AC 11, damage 1d8+1+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity = 16 +4 fire + 2 electricity.
Attack 5 (bonus from Haste: 12+17+1=AC 30, damage 1d8+11+1d6 fire+1d6 electricity = 17 + 5 fire + 4 electricity.
Gil? Then Prince Kor, Desdamora and Havakhad.
Father Rod |
"Haladon 's down! Rod, can you aid him?"
My action will be concerned with getting away from Lady D, but I don't have time to post beyond this, so I will delay so y'all aren't waiting for me.
"I'll do what I can. No doubt the Flame will come to the rescue."
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Arrows thump into the last giant standing.
Prince Kor reappears, sword in hand, behind Lady Desdamora. He clubs he on the back of the head with the hilt and she goes down, insensible.
A bit of 'storytelling' rather than strictly within the rules, but we'll go with it. Lady D down.
Hal, then Havakhad, then Ez and Rod.
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal draws deep and thrusts out at the remaining giant with jets of intensified flame. The instant that the flames die out, the mage bolts knowing that they have completely given away his position and circles around the web to get a better view of where Helkashtai might have gone.
The alien wildcat leaps in looking for more prey and slashes out with an enormous claw.
Empowered Scorching Ray, PB, Precise: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 = 24 Damage: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 6) + 1 = 17 x1.5 =25
Empowered Scorching Ray, PB, Precise: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 = 30 Damage: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 6) + 1 = 15 x1.5 = 22
Empowered Scorching Ray, PB, Precise: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 = 17 Damage: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 4) + 1 = 18 x1.5 = 27
Greater Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 13 + 4 = 33
Move to R11 via haste and counting on his invisibility to skirt around the giant. Looking for Helkashtai with true seeing.
Celestial Tiger moves to N-O/4-5. Has only 5' reach so he provokes to get in attack range. Can't charge for pounce, because Prince Kor is in the lane.
Claw: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32 Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (2, 4) + 8 = 14
If 32 beat CMD, free grab:
Grapple: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (18) + 23 = 41
Father Rod |
“Phew!” The giant sized Rodorgo mops his brow. He moves into a central location and calls on the power of the Silver Flame to heal his allies.
Channel Positive Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 1, 6, 2) = 19 Try to get everyone, especially Haladon.
“We need to secure Lady Desdamora before she hurts someone – or herself.”
Kazadar Soranath |
Kazadar moves to block the exit of the room, then tells the others, "Hold her back while I cast a spell to free her."
I can cast my Domain spell, Break Enchantment, to get rid of the charm. it takes a minute to cast though.
Father Rod |
Lady D is unconscious, so restraint should not be necessary. And the spell might well unnecessary, as well, if the charm runs its course while she's out.
Oh that's right, the prince bashed her over the head.
Janosz Frogshanks |
Janosz wanders from one giant blue corpse to the next, casually slitting their throats. "And stay down. No comebacks, freaks," he mutters to himself before stopping by the ogre mage commander, " - especially you. Man, I thought this guy would never die."
"Hey, Ez - any way we can make the dead talk to us? They are bound to know a thing or three about that Inspired temple-thing they are building across the river."
Father Rod |
"Prince Kor, are you unharmed? Is there anything I can do for you or your men?"
I haven't altogether been keeping track of the status of the NPCs in the room, but Rod would have tried to get them all in his channel. He will try to see if any of the downed guards or mages are still alive, and stabilise them if possible. I assume the channel got Haladon back on his feet, if not Rod will further heal the paladin.
Haladon ir'Tarravan |
Haladon slowlys gets up to his feet.
"Thank your, Father. I can take it from here."
Haladon uses lay on hands to heal the rest of his injuries.
Lay on Hands: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 4, 3, 3) = 16
Lay on Hands: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 5, 3, 2) = 22
Lay on Hands: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 5, 1, 4) = 22
Lay on Hands: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 4, 3, 6) = 24
Scratch off 4 more uses of lay on hands.

Rodergo is able to revive the two Redcloaks, but the dead technicians were killed instantly by the giant's freezing blast.
The three monarchs are all talking over each other. "This is an outrage!" storms King Kaius, "Attacking a prince of the blood! Assaulting the leaders of the Five Nations at their conference! There shall be repercussions!" His eyes blaze with a wholly unsettling light.
Meanwhile, King Boranel exclaims, "Ha! Fantastic! Haven't seen the like in ages. I'd have given my eye-teeth to have been there and got stuck in. Just like the old days, eh, brother?" Prince Kor gives a lopsided grin.
"Calm down, you two!" snaps Queen Aurala, "We need to work out what to do next."
"If I may?" says Keeper Daran, and the noise abates somewhat. "It is clear we face a determined enemy. The fact that they could strike even here suggests that we may struggle to ultimately prevent these shards from falling into their hands. King Boranel, you were undecided before. But you have seen both the danger we face and the capabilities of these adventurers who call themselves Rodergo's Reavers. Do you now agree with my suggestion that the safest place to leave these shards is with self-same worthies?"
King Boranel rubs his bearded chin for a few seconds. "Yes," he says tentatively, then more firmly, "Yes. These shards - whoever or whatever Goshasanan may be - should be dealt with by the Adarans." He turns to Prince Kor. "We should probably consider opening diplomatic relations with Adar as well."
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
"That seems somewhat melodramatic, Master Frogshanks," replies Queen Aurala. "She attacked you. Prince Kor emerged without a scratch, and none of us were even in the room. Nevertheless, we cannot allow this sort of thing to happen. Brawling in front of royalty is extremely poor protocol. Aundair shall coordinate a response in dealing with these Riedrans and their oversized 'temples'."
"Indeed," adds King Kaius, now somewhat calmer, "I think we can provide the Riedrans with plenty to keep them occupied from an official perspective. This may tie them up and make them less of an immediate threat to you and your cohorts, Father Xativa. Master Havakhad, along with King Boranel here, I would be grateful if your nation could despatch representatives. It is high time your people became better known to the Five Nations." Havakhad nods gravely.
"In the meantime, Father Xativa, I think your main role is to disappear as completely as possible," adds Keeper Daran, "So as to make your way to Adar without detection. But in the meantime, I suggest that you pass by the Cathedral of the Cleansing Flame." The Keeper's eyes become unfocused for a moment before recovering. "Lady Agan will wish to speak with Sir Haladon."
Father Rod |
Rodergo bows. “Your Graces. Your Holiness. We will need to travel to Havakhad’s homeland then … we were discussing earlier a boat? An airship – as impractical as that might be in terms of a pilot?”
The precise details aren’t coming to mind, but don’t we know a rogue airship captain? Was he for us or against us? Also, did we at one point have access to or passage on some sort of submersible vessel or am I thinking of another game?
Kazadar Soranath |
"Also, we must tend to Selkatiri's remains." Kazadar says, looking to Havakhad for comment.
"I could pray for a spell to return Selkatiri to life, but the transition takes a toll that Selkatiri will feel for some time. Also, it requires an expensive diamond to be crushed."
raise dead
Janosz Frogshanks |
"I guess we should toss the bodies. They may have clues on where they came from or where they were hiding while here."
If that looks to grisly in front of an audience, we can just dump the corpses in the Bag of holding and search them at our leisure. Also, could we hand over Jeebo to these guys? His cult seems like a national security threat and a bit more than the police can deal with.
Kazadar Soranath |
"Thank you deeply, your eminence. May the Nine and Six favor you."
Kazadar turns to the others.
I shall pray for the spell to spare Selkatiri the Keeper's gaze and bring her back into Arawai's creation. Is there a suitable room in the tent where we may make preparations?"
Haladon ir'Tarravan |
"In the meantime, Father Xativa, I think your main role is to disappear as completely as possible," adds Keeper Daran, "So as to make your way to Adar without detection. But in the meantime, I suggest that you pass by the Cathedral of the Cleansing Flame." The Keeper's eyes become unfocused for a moment before recovering. "Lady Agan will wish to speak with Sir Haladon."
"I am your servant."
Knowledge (nobility or religion): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28 on info on Lady Agan.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Haladon:
Father Rod |
"Well ... I guess we had all be going to see Lady Agan. Kazadar, are you alright with the ritual - can you use any assistance from the Silver Flame? We ... don't really do the 'returning people from the dead' thing much, but if you need help ... If not, I'll walk out here with the others. Now ... incognito, how best to go about that? For starters - Prince Kor, are there any secret ways out of this place?"
