Those that can See:

Spoiler:
Rolund staggers the female warrior with a cut to the thigh. As her defence falters, he follows with a blow to her head. She half-spins before collapsing to the ground, her body evaporating into nothingness.

Janosz continues pumping arrows into the archer. They open pin-prick wounds but he seems otherwise unperturbed.

Those that cannot See:

Spoiler:
Rolund slashes at his ghostly enemy. He parts the tendrils of fog that make up its body with his blade, enchanted as it is to smite the spectral. With a thin wail, it dissipates into nothingness.

Janosz continues pumping arrows into the archer shade, but with little visibe effect.

Ashrae down.

Lightbringer turns his head a few degrees and nods in almost imperceptible thanks at Ezreal’s repair spell, not taking his attention from the shades in front of him.

This is round 5 Ithuriel.

Then undead clerics again cry out to the Blood That Lives as they cast fell enchantments upon their enemies.

Cleric 1 will cast Dispel Magic on Runzyl, Cleric 2 will Channel healing for Galadaes and Cleric 3 with cast Hold Person on Runzyl (Will save DC 15).

Dispel check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21. Healing amount = 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6) = 15 x 1.5 = 22.

Looks like Keen Edge gone.

LB.

As the ethereal cleric in front of him begins to cast his spell, Lightbringer takes advantage of the distraction and strikes at him.

AoO at Cleric 1. Power attack etc. 16 + 15 = 31. Damage: 8 + 20 = 28 / 2 = 14.
He’ll need to make a concentration check or lose the Dispel.

The paladin follows up the attack with a flurry of hastened blows with his magical blade.

Attack # 1: 14 + 15 = 29. Damage: 8 + 20 = 28 / 2 = 14
Attack # 2: 19 + 15 = 34. Damage: 10 + 20 = 30 / 2 = 15
Crit Confirm: 17 + 15 = 32. Damage: 6 + 20 = 26 / 2 = 13
Attack # 3: 14 + 10 = 24. Damage: 4 + 20 = 24 / 2 = 12

If cleric 1 is taken down at some point before the final attack, LB takes a 5 ft step forward to I24, activates his smite evil ability and uses his remaining attacks on Cleric 3. Since he’s smiting, any attacks will be at +4 to hit, +12 to damage (or +6 once halved), and he gets a +4 deflection bonus to AC against his smite target.

OK, forgot to mark LB's position properly. The cleric would have tried a Concentration check if he was there. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 versus DC 21. OK, failed that, so Runzyl still has his Keen Edge going.

Fair enough.

Lightbringer chops through the ectoplasmic foe before him, his magical sword slicing through the unresisting medium. Some metaphysical property of his blade affects the incorporeal being, driving its soul onward to oblivion. It expires and disappears in a puff of frigid fog.

Cleric 1 down.

Rod, then Basher.

With his foe down, Lightbringer will take that 5 foot step forward, to threaten cleric 3. He'll also use a swift action to lay on hands (self), repairing 13 points of damage.

I'll assume that's I24.

Free action. Rod pops up his sight; 4 rounds and counting on the ability to see and affect the aethereal.
Moving to h21, he channels healing energy to Runzyl, Lightbringer, Ezreal, Rolund(sorry; I did try), Basher, Janosz, and Gil.
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 4) = 15

"Victory be with thee, good Runzyl!!!"

“Bash!”

Full Round Action: Charge to H-I/22-23. Attack Cleric 2 (J23).
Attack (haste, Power Attack, inspire courage +2, charge, amulet +1): 1d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 1 - 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 37. Damage (Strength, Power Attack, inspire courage +2, amulet +1, Powerful Charge): 1d8 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 4 + 2 + 1 + (3, 3) = 28/2.

Galadaes

Those that can See:

Spoiler:
Galadaes sweeps the curving blades of his double-scimitar in a furious flurry as he viciously attacks Runzyl.

Those that cannot See:

Spoiler:
The shade of Galadaes presses close and slash wounds open on Runzyl's flesh.

Full attack on Runzyl:
RH 1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36, damage 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 plus 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 cold, crit confirm 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23, extra damage 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

LH 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16, damage 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 plus 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 cold

Pretty sure the last one misses and the first one hits but doesn't crit. I think the middle two miss (just) as Runzyl's AC is 25 due to Haste.

Runzyl.

Following a maddening dance of dodges, parries, and glancing blows, the Valenar goes on the offensive and delivers his own furious assault on the shade.

Full attack vs. Galadaes:

Crit confirm on #1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33 to hit, dealing an additional 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 damage if successful.
Crit confirm on #4(OH): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29 to hit, dealing an additional 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 damage if successful.

Spending an action point on attack #H. 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8. That makes it 30 to hit and 18 + 5 damage.

Meanwhile, the archer retrains his weapon on Lightbringer, seeking to bring down the rampaging warforged.

Thanks!

I was thinking it might be a good idea for Jalana to go and cast Heroism on Runzyl – it provides a morale bonus to hit and damage, so it will stack with the competence bonus granted by inspire courage. She probably won’t be able to get to him and cast this round though.
She’s not high on hit points, so I don’t know if we want her in melee with the archer.

She could get a long ways with 60' movement, but I can't get her adjacent to our whirling dervish in a single movement, even taking some risks. She could easily be in position for next round.

Which reminds me, this is round six, yes? Gil is CL 7, so her haste should last another round after this, I believe. If not, let me know -- that would decide my action.

You’re right. The confusion arose in my map when in an earlier post Aubrey had cleric 1 and 3 use hold person and doom on Rolund as well as have cleric 3 move and try to dispel Runzyl’s buffs.

Basher should have charged at cleric 3 and place his position in H-I/25-26.

If we do so, there’s an open space where Basher was (H-I/22-23) which will allow Jalana to reach Runzyl, at least to M21. She can then use heroism on Runzyl.

Jalana
Jalana hustles to join her lover where she weaves her magic into her oratory to inspire Runzyl to greater acts of heroism.

Free Action: inspire courage +2.
Move Action: move to M21.
Standard Action: cast heroism on Runzyl. +2 morale on attack rolls, saves, and skill checks.

The morale bonus from heroism doesn't stack with Inspire Courage, correct? So I'm not gaining any bonus to attack, but I still get the saves and skills bonus?

At the risk of being the cock who contradicts the GM’s rulings, that’s actually incorrect. This is one of those sneaky little changes between 3.5 and PF – Inspire Courage now grants a competence bonus to hit and damage (still grants a morale bonus to saves vs fear etc), so it stacks with heroism (and bless etc), which still grant morale bonuses.

If the bonus to hit and damage didn’t stack with bardic music, I don’t know whether that would have been worth it – might have been better for Jalana to hit Runzyl with a CMW instead.
