Bulvi points at Selena "No! I'm not going to stand here while you verbally duke it out with Quasit. We're the only ones- and I can't believe I am saying this- helping you restore the rule of this land to Baba Yaga. We're up against an entire country and yes they might have been lied to or misled as well as the possibility of jumping in with full knowledge but one of her riders is dead and as far as we know we are the only ones trying to deal with this."

While the others spoke and moved off, Quasit just took a moment to stand where she was, still staring right at Selena, arms crossed before her. Not an angry look really. Just looking, and waiting.
Finally, after letting the moment happen, she glances down at the melting monster, nods once, lifts her eyebrows and slips back into her casual demeanor.
"I tell ya, once we take this tower over, those guards are fired," she says breezily as she starts off toward the door. As she passes Nadya, she reaches up and gives the woman's shoulder a little squeeze of support. She too looks over the door, checking it for traps...

"I wouldn't say no to a hit or two from that healing wand. I can't feel my left hand and that cut is really starting to hurt now. I've got this weird sharp pulling feeling in my shoulder. And I can feel blood running down my back and soaking into my unmentionables. If you don't mind?"

I wanted to live in the woods and talk to bunny rabbits and faerie dragons, and shoot orcs with my elegant bow, and drink elderberry wine and all that junk. And you never see a fat elf. Plus you get to live forever, right? I mean, I'm kinda talking myself back into it right now as we speak. I don't know if it's as good as being an amazing fox lady, but it's gotta be pretty close."

"What? No!" Quasit giggle-snorts as she slugs Bulvi in the arm. "Cripes, I'm short enough as it is. No little girl dreams of being shorter! Though the purple hair thing is kinda neat."
"And I don't think I ever actually wanted to live in the woods. I like beds and oven-baked bread and soft clothes. It's just... I don't know, in the stories, the elves were just like this majestic heroic people who protected everything from all the evil monsters. The wicked dragons and fiendish spiders and junk. I mean, when you're a little girl like I was, you learn pretty early on that the world doesn't really think much of you, and there's just a lot of drudgery and oppression waiting for you once you grow up. So you dream. My mom was pretty good at feeding me fantasies. Pretty good at feeding herself fantasies for that matter."
"Fortunately for me, I grew up to be an outlaw, murdering things in the woods and freezing her tits off in some gods-forsaken witch castle. That's much better."

checking the doorway shows no traps, though as you open into the hallway, Steamy air fills this inner gallery, emanating in lazy wisps from a bubbling pool recessed into the floor of a raised dais surrounded by six pillars of ice. Four foggy mirrors hang from the walls near ice sculptures of helmeted pike-wielding warriors.

Quasit points out the mirrors.
"Ring any bells?" she whispers to her companions. "I'll bet you anything they're magical like the one at the tea saloon."
She looks around, chewing her lip, thinking.
"Maybe Fin and I can scout around quietly, and see if we can find a stairway up or something. Come inside and shut the door and be quiet. We'll try and make this fast."
Quasit edges along the wall to the left, moving clockwise about the perimeter of the room, blending into the shadows, moving as quietly as she can.

"This looks kinda strange. I agree, Quasit, reminds me of that other mirror." Sakitu steps to the nearest companion, Bulvi, and lays a hand on his arm. She mutters a few arcane words and magical energy flows into him. She doesn't look at Bulvi but continues to gaze around the room in search of danger.
Cast resistance on Bulvi. +1 to saves for 1 minute.

Selena brings up the rear rather sluggishly, unsure of what to do about her companions. As Quasit gets surprised though, Selena suspects they must have been waiting for them, so she casts Detect Magic, and looks around and at the enemies.

Quasit looks back and forth, trying to decide where she can work most effectively, when she notices the guard captain bursting out of the room into the central area, heading right for Bulvi as he works to hold off the assaulting horde of other guards. A flush of anger washes over her features and she immediately rushes out to meet the new threat.
"Not so fast, sweet cheeks!" she snarls as she draws her sword and stabs low under the shield toward the captain's belly. "You just made the biggest mistake of your short life."

As half of the northern group peels off and comes at her, Quasit's eyes widen and she glances around herself, suddenly realizing that she may have made a not atypical tactical error in her impulsive way.
"Wait!... no no NO!..."
The sword jabs into her belly and there's no way to avoid it, tied up as she is with the guard captain.
"AHH! Dammit!" she shouts out angrily in frustration. "Wait your turn, will ya? What, you don't have a dozen MORE guys in the floor, or hiding in the can? You don't know who you're messing with! I'm gonna cut off your nuts and feed 'em to you! Lousy bastard!"
