Thanks mdt ^^ Right now I'm working on a Female Natural Werewolf Cleric of Ashava. I have her story all worked out, just need to get the crunch finished up. Because she's a Werewolf, she would just have two Cleric levels, or would it be three? I ask because they don't have racial HD but their CR is +1. Just want to be sure I get her levels correct.

Looks good, go ahead and post in the discussion thread and dot the gameplay thread with an OOC post. I'll introduce Kalasin shortly.
One request though. If you can, work up a Google Docs document that has the stats broken down by form. Human, Hybrid, and Wolf. That includes skills (since her skill bonuses change by form). Then put a link to the doc in her race or class field, so it's on her posts? THere's not enough room in her class/race fields to put all the forms stats.
EDIT : Use the Team Stag link above for the suggested posts.

This game is once again recruiting for a player.
However, the character creation restrictions have changed.
The submitted character must be a human or native outsider human (asamar, tiefling, suli, sylph, undine, etc). They will be a native of the strange world the characters find themselves in. To get an idea of the world, you can glance through the gameplay thread on this game (the last 50 or so posts ideally). They will be joining Team Stag shortly.
Other than race and background, the rest of the character creation guidelines follow those presented in the first few posts of this recruitment thread.
I'll keep recruitment open until the current players see a character they like.

Newcomers to the adventure should be aware that spellcasting (including alchemy and other magic-like powers) is more difficult here. If you're planning on a spellcasting-heavy build, be prepared for more of a challenge and thus, a better story to tell.
Also, while it hasn't been explicitly acknowledged by the GM yet, I've heard rumors that Hobgoblins are *totally* in charge and should be constantly told how awesome they are if you want XP bonuses.
Okay, I did start those rumors, but they still could be true.

Right, so I threw an idea at mdt (violently, I might add), and he mentioned that I should post it here for a consensus from you all.
It'd be an oni-blooded tiefling, more than likely, though that's subject to change. She would've been captured by slavers and sold or worked for an undetermined amount of time. (I'm still working out specifics.) Eventually, she would've gotten desperate enough to pray to anything that would hear her, wishing for some way out of her predicament, passing out soon after. She had a dream where she heard a female voice, one that she interpreted as some kind of a divine power, and once again, she wished for a weapon to free her from her captors. When she awoke the next morning, she found a weapon that she used to do just that, slaying her captors and fleeing the camp.
The twist is that the voice was not a holy power, and was instead a glabrezu doing exactly what glabrezu do best, corrupting wishes. That weapon that she thinks is from some otherworldly something-or-another is actually cursed in some manner, and could potentially lead to her death.
Like I said, not fully polished, but that's the jist of it. :|

Hmmmm. Looks good but What I'm interested is her manner of death and how she came to avoid moving on.
We're a motley crew as per the hobgoblin says there.
Me? I just stone away and I Rock!
P.S: Since we're plugging ourselves away as well. lol.
Yes Goragg is awesome just not the way he thinks he is. :P
Miruru |
Yep, and it allows for DM meddling, too. Since the wish was for "something to kill the slavers with", it allows for a bunch of wish corruption. Perhaps she eventually starts to see everyone around her as a slaver, perhaps the weapon gets a will of its own and tries to dominate her once its ego is high enough, etc etc. Cursed items and wishes, deadly combination.

Wow. So just as a heads up, my whole fluff is coming along slowly (it's on my home computer & I'm at work), but it looks like I'll be going the route of tiefling investigator. Out of curiosity, do you require the investment in the Fiendish Heritage feat to use the alternate versions of tiefling? I'm looking at the daemon spawn, possibly. Regardless, I'll still choose the tiefling. Anyways, back to work & figuring out how the rest d the fluff is going.
I'd definitely like to know more about the area folks are in, probably in pm, if that's ok. Just trying to wrap my head around being brought in.

@Escheton
Well, I don't mind gunslingers, but they'd use my custom gunslinging rules, which you'll find in this game I'm also running.
@Miruru
It would be someone what hard, given the campaign world. As to the Zen Archer, I personally love the class. It would also certainly fit in the theme of the world.
Miruru |
Racial Zen Archer? ?_?; If you just mean the race, still probably a Tiefling, but I'll check. (I kind of like Aasimar as well.)
Though, on that note, how does the system you use for stats work? I'm used to either the DM rolling or the players rolling on Invisible Castle via a screen-sharing program for stats.

No preview available. And the downloaded wordfile had issues...
But with both magic and gunslinging "altered" I guess the character won't be much good either way. Have fun.

Things you need to know :1) Magic will be non-standard, and you won't know what modifications are in place until the game starts. If you are the type who doesn't like surprises, don't play a magic user, or don't play. You have been warned, so no whining.
2) You may work with other applicants to have a common background, but please understand you may or may not get picked as a group.
3) I will try to form a balanced party, but, and I make this point very strongly, I want interesting characters too. So if I get 5 interesting characters who are all bards, and 5 cookie cutters of other classes, I'm going to go with 5 bards.Crunch Stuff :
You may pick one of the following stat arrays :
Array 1 (11, 11, 13, 15, 15, 17):
Array 2 (9, 10, 10, 11, 13, 15):
Array 3 (9, 10, 10, 13, 13, 16):I suspect the favored array will be #1. :)
Starting Equipment - Nothing other than mundane equipment. Given that, I'm only going to give you a spending limit of 500 gp. Note that magical equipment won't make the transition with you. You may take crafting feats, if you want, but remember, anything magical won't arrive (this includes potions!). Alchemical things will translate. Note that Alchemists are going to be part of the 'magic works weird' caveat above, so be prepared to not whine.
Traits - You may start with two traits, and may reskin traits to make more sense for your character. You may take a drawback to get a third. Some races may be considered too powerful (those with 21 or more build points!), and those will have reduced traits, and may require a drawback as well. Reskinned traits require an approval though (to make sure they don't turn into daffy duck traits).
Any other questions feel free to ask.

Well the reason it possibly had issues is that it's an Open Office file type if you tried to open it up in Word.

Yep, I try not to put up links to files that require paid for programs to use. I remember how tight my finances were in college. So mostly I only post files in Open Document Format (Libre Office or Open Office) or PDF format (Adobe Reader being a free download).

Ah yes. Word decided to crap out on me even though I owned it in College, so I switched to Open Office (instead of being unable to open and/or save). I recognized the file extension :) Funnily enough at some point, Word fixed itself. Doesn't OpenOffice allow you to save as .doc and open .doc and .docx files? Not sure on Libre Office since I never used it.

Okay, I finally figured out how to make a "sheet", under Aliases.
(I did mention I was a newbie to these forums, right? ._. Making sure. >_< )
Do I still roll randomly for starting age and the tiefling cosmetic chart? Again, we usually do so on Invisible Castle, roll three times, and choose one of the three we rolled. If so, would I just roll those in here, or in the discussion thread?
Miruru |
Tiefling Cosmetics: 3d100 ⇒ (45, 69, 16) = 130
Starting Height/Weight: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 7) = 11
Starting Age: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 1, 4, 6, 6, 6) = 37
Edit: Hmm, I'm inclined to take "Horns:Other" (45 on what I rolled) and just say she's got sort of conical horns, like I typically picture an oni having, but I'm not sure what "Horns:Other" implies, if it's a DM's pick, or what.
5 ft. 4 in. for height

Libre Office is a forked version of Open Office. It got forked over when Oracle bought Sun, the people contributing to OO didn't trust Oracle, so they forked the code. The two are very similar, with both groups incorporating the best of what the other company does next cycle.
It does open .DOC files, but it's not very good with DocX yet, mainly due to the doc formats being obfuscated, so they have to work backwards the hard way.
