Engineer #3 |

Overall goals for Engineer:
Master the Psionic arts, and begin crafting his body into new and ever more efficient forms. If he can garner additional assistance (whether followers, other constructs, other Warforged, or the like, it'll work) even better.
Recover Laboratory-Forge Epsilon, lost to the Mournland and potentially gone forever, Engineer would like to rediscover this establishment and retake his place as a crafter, inventor, and engineer.
Establish himself as a crafter, whether in town, via hand-held tools, or the like, Engineer seeks to fix, tinker, and improve things. He will start with himself, but once capable, plans on creating/adapting psionic arms & armor, and possibly universal items.
OOC wise: Keep leveling as a Psion, keep learning all there is to know about being a Shaper. Probably will be taking Obtain Psicrystal sooner rather than later, as well as the item crafting feats if that's feasible.
It's likely he won't ever achieve the recovery of his lost Lab, and that's fine...it's more of a general drive to action than a needed reachable goal line

Discover unique spells. Pull and absorb all magic into her. Meta magic feats, Stuff from complete Mage and ultimate magic. Obscure spells from Dragon magazine, spell compendium, etc. Anything to accent her spell casting. I want her to end up sort of...well, Jean Grey. (The thought just came to me, and I haven't done comics since the nineties, so I apologize if I butcher her). She will eventually be more elderitch than Korihor. She will become the Phoenix. Or perhaps the dragon, in this case.
See her parents again. An impossible feat, at least in the way she'd like, but she doesn't know that. I like her with followers, almost a cult, but I see her with summons, and undead, and charms...followers that become extensions of her will.
Discover her relationship with the Houses, and the prophecy.

Daxur's goals are primarily the advancement of his own abilities; it is unlikely that he will multi-class. His interest in the ancient lost magic of Xen'drik and Dhakaan would further that aim. He's smart enough to know that he's not powerful enough to go to Xen'Drik, so he will seek any connection to that lost land through his travels in Korvaire. Ultimately , if he can recover some of the lost glory of Dhakaan within himself, he will be satisfied.

This is the next entry in her journal. Spoilers to her personal story are in here, so if you'd prefer to learn about them through role-playing, don't read. If you don't care, read on. Or skip it entirely, have a biscuit and watch some Supernatural. :) All of them are good choices.
-6th Rhaan-
I don't recall what happened. But I woke up, wearing only my smallclothes, under the docks on the lake.
I haven't blacked out since I was seventeen. I hope it's not happening again.
Captain Skellerang was indeed in need of some discreet help. He not only called me, but several other...individuals.
There is a quiete halfling...Beauregard. He seems well intentioned, the type to listen, and just...absorb. His eyes cut through the room, and I feel an intelligence lies hidden behind that quite demeanor. I fear what he may say about me when he grows comfortable with our...group. As mom used to say, "Your father can't hide nothing from me. I know when he spent his earnings, the moment I seen him coming up the walk. It's in his step." This little man reminds me of mom. This shouldn't bother me so, but I keep getting chills when I look at him.
Three is a warforged. A unique 'forged. I've never seen one so...earthy? No. It's like he's made of more quartz than wood, more crystal than metal. He's from somewhere east of Breland. The Ashen spires in Karrnath, I think, or perhaps south in Jalenta, but I can't quite tell by his accent. Never was good with those. Spent too much time with foreign languages. I like him. He has this...calmness, this order about him that I feel I need. I'm sure he could keep my room picked up and clean! Mother would like him, if he were human. Father? Father hates 'forged.
Zevon...he's a young boy. Local, I think. Big arms. Just the kind of boy Birendra always swooned over. Eyes you get lost in, and not unintelligent. He seems to be...dreamy. Like he can't believe he's here, rather than baking bread or something. He's good in a pinch, though.
Lumen is a giant of a woman. She weilds an enormous sword with quite a deal of skill. She did do...something...arcane, though. Perhaps it was my imagination, as she is obviously a warrior. Honestly, I've been too intimidated to really speak to her yet. She doesn't seem very...feminine. Probably grew up with all brothers. Makes me glad I had Birendra for a sister. Sometimes. I wish I could tell her I'm sorry. I miss her laugh. It sounded like a braying ass.
Then there is Daxur. Mother would call it my 'disgusting obsession with creatures that live in holes'. Whatever it is, he is one of the most refined creatures - people, really, that I have ever met. He followed me last night. Perhaps he cared for me. Or protected others from me, I don't know. He's a wizard. He speaks with "diction, poise and pacing", like the actors in the plays about the Heirs of Dhakaan. Reminds me of being a girl, thrilled by the mock battles on stage. They seemed so real. Yet now they seem...
I can't seem to hold my temper.
Skellerang told us to speak with Priestess Jenna Urikas of the Sovereign host. I'm sure she'll be all 'praise this breeze, and if I fart, give us tithe'. Apparently some citizens have gone missing. Skellerang is investigating, but Jenna is investigating the disappearance of three orphans from the Lantern street orphanage. Children missing. So we went to speak with her.
We encountered a group of miscreants dressed as fools, beating another sovereign host priest. My zealous compatriates decided to intervene. I did not want to, but thinking that this group may have had something to do with the children..they have no parents. There is no worse hell for a child than to not have your parents.
I saw a woman creeping on the roof, face painted like a Marches whore, and I blasted her. I've never used this ability on a person before. I thought it would feel different than blowing up glasses and aspens and pottery.
It did. It really did.
We took her to a warehouse and interrogated her, while some idiot kobold bilked us out of some of our money. I wanted to scream in her face till I was raw. I wanted to weap. Lilly was her name. No fear. No guilt. My blood was pounding all evening, and by the time we chose to haul her off to the knights of the Host, I had a headache worse than the time Thad Mellor got us that Carrion brandy that was supposedly from the wastes tribes.
I - mimicked - a spell Daxur cast. It makes people fall asleep. It didn't work perfectly, but I did it. This felt like water on my lips from a crystal spring in the Deep woods, whereas my...blood...always feel like the scouring salt of the Eldeen bay.
We took the prisoners to the Host's temple. I recall standing from my seat as Jenna interviewed us. I remember stairs. Lots of them. So many stairs I thought they would never end. I remember hitting my head. There was this great...eye. Bloody eye. I remember scaring a mother milking her baby on her porch. I remember blood. Not my blood. It was a pool of it, red, with a light shining off it.
And I remember the most...euphoric, sensual tension. Like dawn in a bowl, with sugar and rice cakes with cinammon for breakfast, for the rest of your life.

Shadowwalker, what is the best way for Daxur and Korihor to meet back up with the group? We never established if we were staying at inns or houses, and we don't have a place to meet up. As He and I missed the last part of the meeting, we don't know where to go. Should we just check in with Jenna or Skellerang?

Zevon Rembrandt |

As a young and still somewhat idealistic young man (but with a strong sense of duty), Zevon has not given his future much thought. He dreams of traveling around Khorvaire (and who knows perhaps even further) and visiting the different countries & cities.
in game he will continue at least until lvl 5 or 6 as a fighter and perhaps multiclass then (cleric?) or something else - I'll pay attention (for inspiration) to how the adventure will further unfold .

The best course of action is to go back to the temple, being that was the last point you saw the party. The captian had room and board set up at the temple.

Beauregard, you are absolutely correct. :) My character doesn't wonder outloud why you are apologizing because I think you are odd for doing it. I actually agree with you. She wonders out loud because she thinks Beauregard is odd.
Just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was poking at your RPing in a back-handed way at all. It's all in character for her.
And I like the fact that you feel it's Last War related. It is. It may never come out for her. But there is story there. I just don't like to "tell you all up front" through inner dialogue. I like to color a character through behavior, and let you put the pieces of personality and history together. :)
Besides...I love watching Beauregard's frustration with us. It feels very Holmes and Watson.

I'm glad to know you guys are enjoying things. I'm a little frustrated because it feels to me like I keep missing things I shouldn't be. Long as everyone is having fun I'm good. I have another PbP I'm in where I'm you, so-to-speak. I usually post every other scene making sure everyone is still enjoying my antics.
