So there's one more alchemist's fire that wasn't distributed. Could I use like a full round action to dig it out of whomever's pack?

Wandering GM Wastrel |

I'm all better. For some reason, I thought I had acted this round. Not that I can accomplish much against a swarm.
good thing I gave out those vials of alchemist's fire, seeing as none of you bought any yourselves
That was intended to be a hint as to the sorts of dangers you might be up against, by the way. Since it didn't take, I'll say it a bit more explicitly: there is a good chance that you will encounter more poison and more swarms (and possibly even more poisonous swarms) during the course of this adventure.
I've no wish to inflict a TPK (been there, done that) but as far as I'm concerned, one or more PC deaths will only add to the drama of the story we're telling.
Proceed accordingly :)

Aivar Kurisyl |

To quote a post from the 5th of January:
I say we keep the vials of alchemist fire and give them to Sash and Arianna. I can only hope we do not encounter any swarms, but if we do ... we'll be thanking Cayden we hold on to the vials.
It's why I'm more than okay with dedicating a share of the wealth to stock up on consumables so we can take on a wide variety of foes. Tanglefoot bags, acid and alchemist fire save lives. Later on, you always want the divine casters to be rocking a remove paralysis and fear scroll.
I feel that a 'split everything equally and do with it as you please' system can encourage the very opposite if you don't watch out :)

Narièl Laeric |

Swarm's are one of the circumstances where a spell like just of wind comes in handy. Maybe I'll draw up a few more scrolls of summon monster, the air elementals can help in this regard as well.
We can absolutely make a shared gear portion. Honestly, things like heal potions should go there as well.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Just waiting on Arianna, Nariel and Tristan

Wandering GM Wastrel |

In case any of you are wondering what Bokken sounds like, it's something like Yosemite Sam mixed together with Authentic Frontier Gibberish

Raquel Cailean |

I'm not sure which potions would serve us best. We could get one 2nd-level potion and 3 1st-level ones, or 9 1st-level ones.

Tristan Aislin |

I was thinking a couple potions of Magic weapon might come in handy, in case we run into anything ethereal or with better damage reduction than a mite.
Also, time to start putting these social skills to use. For being a bard in an Ultimate Intrigue game I've been remarkably useless thus far.

Aivar Kurisyl |

That could be useful. I don't know if Bokken has any oils, however, so I figured I'd stick to just 'potions' on my list :)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

My bad - there's two hexes left to explore.

Aivar Kurisyl |

Okay, so here's my final take on le potion list:
-Magic Weapon oil (x3)(150gp)
-Enlarge Person (x2)(100gp)
-Protection from Evil (x2)(100gp)
-Alchemist Fire (x5)(100gp)(if Bokken has that / is willing to have it be part of the potion cache)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Bokken has all of those available :)

Arianna Wending |

Something to keep in mind is that I do have craft alchemy, although it takes time to craft it's 1/3 the listed price to do so.

Narièl Laeric |

I think we'll need to invest more in crafting moving forward; I'm definitely going to pick up at least the craft wondrous items feat so we can get our hands on a few things.

Narièl Laeric |

Oh yeah, I'm fine with Aivar's list. Also, should we head back and get supplies before the final push to the last hex?

Wandering GM Wastrel |

There is one more hex to explore (for real, this time) so let me know what you want to do

Tristan Aislin |

Yes! Explore the hex, then I'm sure the job is done and we can all go home and live normal lives.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

For some reason, Raquel daydreams about slathering mayonnaise all over her naked body...
So it's just another Tuesday, then?

Narièl Laeric |

My bad, there is a typo in my last post... Nariel is supposed to say "Let us take a look around"
Just want to scope out the area before venturing forward.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

I already rolled Perception for you all. Just place your tokens and try not to metagame too much :P

Narièl Laeric |

Sorry, my bad - didn't realize you had rolled for everyone!

Wandering GM Wastrel |

No problem! I will generally roll both Perception and Sense Motive for you and then type up the resulting gameplay post based on the results of the rolls.
Just waiting on Sasha to position her counter on the map and then we're good to go.

Raquel Cailean |

If it's just her we're waiting on, maybe we should just have her start next to Raquel so that we don't have to delay too long? Just a thought. I like forward momentum. ;)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Agreed - in this case it's a toss-up between momentum and player agency. Player agency just shades it, for now.
If there's nothing by the time I finish work, then I'll bot her to keep momentum going.

Narièl Laeric |

Just a heads up, going skiing this weekend and won't likely have the ability to post from Friday until Sunday evening.

Tristan Aislin |

Hello! I was just told that I will not have access to the internet over a vacation I'm taking until the 10th of February! Apologies, I was under the impression that I'd still be in touch. Please DMPC as needed.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Thanks for letting me know, Nariel/Tristan. I'll do my best to bot you as you would act :)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Anybody else think WW has it out for Nariel?
Not me, guv; it's those dice.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

The drakes have AC 17: they're a wingless variant with slightly more natural armour than the normal variety.

Aivar Kurisyl |

I'm afraid any AC above 15 is simply too much for my dice to handle.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Dex-based rolls, eh? You know how to hurt my feelings.
We do our best :)
If Raquel's healing cured Sasha's sluggishness (just a guess), add 2 to the damage.
Channel energy doesn't cure poison, alas.

Narièl Laeric |

I'm back now; I'll catch up and post tomorrow afternoon.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Great! You've cast Invisibility and Summon Monster II, FYI

Aivar Kurisyl |

Welcome back! I hope your skiing trip didn't get hit by that crazy polar vortex :x

Sasha Yezhov |

Sasha Yezhov wrote:If Raquel's healing cured Sasha's sluggishness (just a guess), add 2 to the damage.Channel energy doesn't cure poison, alas.
I figured. You mentioned poison damage and sluggish in the breakdown of the round, so I thought you might be adding some homebrew rules or something. :)

Wandering GM Wastrel |

No, it's the Unchained rules for poison: you take a certain amount of hit point damage regardless of save, and then increasingly nasty penalties if you fail your saving throws...

Arianna Wending |

Is it possible that I could use the Investigator ability Poison Lore to treat poisoning more efficiently?

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Of course I can answer that, because I know all about the Poison Lore ability. Oh yes.
*frantic sound of shuffling pages*
Right. Let's say that if you kill the drake, you can spend 1 minute to examine and make a know (nature) check DC 14. If you pass that, you can spend 1 minute and make a craft (alchemy) check to neutralise it.
Because it's not exactly a dose and is in her system, I would suggest that you also need a Heal check to properly administer it without doing further harm. Let's say a Heal check DC 14 (anyone can do this, it doesn't have to be Arianna).
Whether Sasha has 2 minutes post-combat for you to do all of this, is another matter. Let's find out.
Yay, Science!
EDIT Also THEME MUSIC

Wandering GM Wastrel |

No problem. I rather like them: it makes poison genuinely dangerous, rather than 'o noez, I've taken d2 Cha damage...' If Sasha had failed her next saving throw, she'd have become Staggered; and the one after that, Paralysed.
Incidentally, Arianna - your poison lore will stop a poison from doing further damage, but won't remove the effects it's already inflicted, so you can't get Sasha back to full health. Only rest (or suitably powerful magic) can do that.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Seriously, whatever method you guys are using to keep track of this stuff - it's not working. Given that the theme of this game is KM meets Ultimate Intrigue, do you really want to be relying on GM benevolence...?
(hint: you do NOT want to be relying on GM benevolence)

Narièl Laeric |

You're right. Maybe we need to add an additional tab to the loot page that has common notes, things we pickup from NPC's that could be useful later.
