I think we decide on a scenario by scenario basis. That being said, fine by me!

Yes - you decide on a scenario-by-scenario basis (subject to the limitation that only one person in a party can choose the same thing).

That can get quite complicated if you have a party who have not all played through the same scenarios, so not everybody has access to the same loot cards.

Access to traders can run into the same kind of complications, too.

Deck handler

Soo I was reflecting on one of my recent turns, and noticed that when I revealed the camel to attack, and then also recharged the slug for its power, did that count as playing two allies on a single check? I think I was forgetting that revealing a card counts as playing it. Was I accidentally cheating in this scenario?

(If so, sorry! I don’t think it actually made much difference in the outcome there, but I’d like to get it right.)

Lone Shark Games

You're playing a power on your character for the Camel, not actually playing an ally, so you're good.

Deck handler

Ok, phew. I will continue hoarding all the animals then. :)

Deck handler

Could someone help me understand how the card feat works in organized play? How I understand it: you have to fill in the gap for the new card according to the hierarchy (so probably a B basic), and not from the cards we picked up in the scenario. But could you use the scenario-completion upgrade to change out your new card for a non-basic B instead? (or a 1 if we had one, but we don't)

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-Orc Harrower

The way I understand it is you take the card feat and then you can take the scenario's reward, so you can fill that gap with this mission's card reward.

Are any of you planning on advancing a tier?

Also, @GM, did we get any additional rewards for completing this mission?

I was sort of waiting to see what everyone else was doing as far as tier advancement. Obviously the sort term gains would be a sooner acquisition of new feats but would advancing too soon lock me out of finishing the entire adventure path should the opportunity present itself?

Deck handler

Thanks, Akaitora.

I was planning to stay at tier 1 to finish out the adventure.

Reward

For the rest of the Adventure Path, 1 character may temporarily replace 1 spell in her deck with the spell Elemental Treaty and 1 character may temporarily replace 1 item in his deck with the loot Tablet of Languages Lost. At the end of each scenario, return the cards to the game box.

Deck handler

What's the Tablet of Languages Lost?

Shadow Lodge

Gentleman, Race: Grand Prix of Absalom, Middle Class

Tablet of Languages Lost:

Loot Item 1

Traits
Object
Magic

Check
None
0

Powers
After the roll, reveal this card to add or subtract 2 from your Charisma or Diplomacy check.
Recharge this card to add 3 to your check to defeat a barrier or your Intelligence or Wisdom check to acquire an item.

Salim

Does someone else want take the Scarab Buckler this turn?

Scarab Buckler:

Loot Armor B
Traits
Shield
Alchemical
Healing

Check
None

Powers
Recharge this card to reduce Acid, Cold, Combat, Electricity, or Fire damage dealt to you by 3. If proficient with light armor, you may play another armor on this check.
Bury this card to shuffle 1d4+1 random cards from your discard pile into your deck or to add 2d8 to your check that invokes the Swarm or Poison trait.

Erasmus's Deck Handler

I'm fine with Salim taking the buckler. I, in turn, would like to bring "Remove Curse" and the "Spear of the Watchful Guardian" for this mission.

FYI, we now have a lodge specifically for online card game recruitment, the Flaxseed On Deck Lodge

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-Orc Harrower

Awesome! How do lodges work though? Do you post there that you are looking for a game? Or do GM's post that they are running games and you sign up?

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

@Akaitora: both. You can post that you're looking for a game and a BR will likely start a game and recruit some more, or sometimes the BR will start it off. I'll make a post today in there too that effect.

Deck handler

I have a question about Korundo's power: "At the start of your turn, you may choose an unchecked power feat on this card; it must be one you could gain when gaining a power feat. You may use that feat until you choose a different one. "

Does the 'may' in that second sentence mean that I can choose whether to use the selected feat for any given check? For example if I had the add 1d4 power checked, I could choose not to use it if a check is low and I want to be careful not to overshoot. When that power is actually selected, it's not optional.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-Orc Harrower

I think that sentence is trying to frame the duration of the ability, which is (forever) "until you choose a different one". I do agree it's a little ambiguous in this particular situation though.

Deck handler

It does seem strange that a temporary version of a power could be better than the permanent form. I switched to a different one to be safe. (Although it just turned out quite useful on its own!)

Erasmus's Deck Handler

How does Salim feel about defeating the Crawling Hands? Should I just go defeat the villain and end this?

Salim

Poking things with his sword is what Salim does best!

Deck handler

Are you prepared to fight a Natron Zombie and then two checks for the villain? I was figuring that it would be nice to have two people there to spread that out, but if you can handle it I say go for it. We do actually have a fair spread of blessings in our hands right now.

Erasmus's Deck Handler

So, I found an armor 2. My Con is 1d6+2. Should we throw some resources to it?

Erasmus's Deck Handler

Hi everyone. It has been quiet around here this week. Are we thinking of continuing onwards to adventure 3?

Salim

I will continue to play so long as John is willing to run. That said GenCon starts tomorrow which may explain the decrease in activity. (I myself haven’t been in more than 10 years...)

Deck handler

It has been a hectic week for me. But I would be happy to continue as well.

Shadow Lodge

Gentleman, Race: Grand Prix of Absalom, Middle Class

GenCon isn't an issue for me. But we're only a couple of weeks away from a local convention (PacifiCon) where my wife and I are lead organisers.

Until that's out of the way I won't really have time for other activities.

Salim

Quick question....did everyone else get their chronicles for 3-1 directly from Outpost and, if so, do you have a contact I can email/pm?

Deck handler

I don't have a chronicle from 3-1.

Erasmus's Deck Handler

Me neither.

Shadow Lodge

Gentleman, Race: Grand Prix of Absalom, Middle Class

Outpost assumed the GMs were doing chronicles.

I assumed Outpost would do them, as not every GM would necessarily have the tools to modify a PDF, and the GMs didn't have the contact email addresses for the players.

I'll be creating the 3-1 chronicles as well.

Erasmus's Deck Handler

Hey JohnF,

It's been a while! I hope everything went well for you and your wife with your convention. I have 2 things to ask you:

- Any chance you could still send us those chronicle sheets for 3-1?
- I would really like to keep playing this adventure, but I understand if you no longer feel like running it. If the other players are up for it and you don't mind, would you be willing to transfer ownership of the table to me? I have been running another table as both player and BR with no issue, so I'm confident that I can pull it off.

Everyone, if you are still around, please chime in and let me know what you think.

I imagine most have marked this thread as inactive and have not seen your post. You’d be better off sending John a PM regarding the chronicle...although I imagine it would be quite a pain to sift through pages of posts in order to create/recreate the form.

I would be up for continuing but the others may have moved on to other games. The lack of my initial chronicle has prevented me from moving forward with Salim...however I may just start anew.

Deck handler

Oops, I was traveling until just recently and didn't notice Akaitora's post.

I'd like to continue too if possible; I was having a lot of fun with this game and all the rest of you.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-Orc Harrower

Well, it's been a while so perhaps JohnF moved on to greener pastures, but I suppose nothing stops us from creating another table. We should probably get a few more people though. I'll see what I can do.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-Orc Harrower

Hi all! I've reached out to the other BRs and BR Redeux was kind enough to generate the missing 3-1 Chronicle Sheet for us. Please find them in the link below:

3-1 Chronicle Sheets

He asked me to let you know that if there are any issues, we can contact him at redeux@orgplayonline.com

Deck handler

Nice! Thanks for taking care of that, Akaitora and Redeux!
