Do you want to hide first then throw for advantage? Then yes, you have advantage on the attack roll.
Cale, which wolf are you attacking? I'll assume dire wolf unless you specify otherwise.

caster4life |

No problem. Your stealth succeeded but now you've drawn attention to your position. Alternatively, you could have thrown two darts, I think.

caster4life |

Yes, Archeron. Some failed and some succeeded. Unfortunately, the ones that succeeded were mostly the ones that would have been one-shoted if they failed. Sorry I didn't describe that more clearly
Here's the thing, Cale, you've been focusing on the DW so the DW is way more wounded but still has more HP.
Should be able to post foe actions/saves in the morning Eastern US time.

Cale Vatay |

Well in that case I am probably screwed. Ah well, in for a penny, in for a pound.

Halved on a save. Sorry. Super rushed. Party up. Cale hit. Cathirix hit. Shadow hit and knocked prone. Wolves leaped up.

caster4life |

Sorry guys, was in a big rush. Was that clear enough? 23 damage to Cale as he was only hit by the dire wolf. 10 damage to Shadow and knocked prone by the dire wolf who bit him. 2 damage to Cathirix from the longbow.

Silken Shadow |

I'm not completely understanding the list of rolls. The first attack on me missed, do I still get knocked prone from that? Wolf 2 athletics up a storm. The dire wolf athletics'ed and rolled a 15? Wolf 2 is doing something? I'm assuming attacking with advantage? I roll a reflex save caused by? Then 4d8 from what? I'm sorry for the questions, but it doesn't seem to add up.

caster4life |

Haha. No problem. It's my fault. That's why I normally try to keep things in the GM screen spoiler then explain the results. Because wolf two succeeded in leaping up on the roof, the dire wolf had advantage on the attack roll against you (pack tactics). I didn't want to add the d20 up top because it would change the attack roll. SO DW adv is the dire wolf's advantage roll so he hit you. You failed the strength save and got knocked prone. Despite the advantage, wolf 2 failed to hit you. The winter wolf ran over and used its breath weapon on you. You made the save but still take half damage as you don't have evasion yet so 10 damage from dire wolf bite and 10 from winter wolf breath. Does that make sense? He didn't have a lot of targets left as almost everyone else who is grounded is down. I think Cale just got knocked out.
Guys, this has obviously gone poorly for Team Gestalt. Let's finish it out but then I'm willing to offer a mulligan. I'll shuffle around where the monsters are hanging out and let you guys try tweaking your builds/strategies. Does that interest you?

Tebeth Rilynth |

I am good for a round 2, I for one used poor tactics and missed capabilities some of my capabilities. I want to keep Arcane Archer, if just to prove to myself that it is a bad option.

caster4life |

Round 2 sounds good. In addition, team synergy is hard when there's been no warm-up fights to get a feel for how everyone works together. Everyone interested in a round two should make any adjustments (including to their status line) and say something in the discussion tab when ready to try again.
Yes, Cathirix. I'm pretty sure you're the only one left up. It's a little harder to tell because Cale didn't add his status line. You're also about to be fired upon by the remaining three hobgoblins with longbows. The winter wolf might try to blast you again as well. What do you want to do? Cale, Archeron, and Shadow are still alive for a very brief time. They will have wolves chewing on them soon.

Cathirix |

BLAZE OF GLORY!!!!!
In a last ditch gambit Cathirix dives head long directly at the White Wolf, right before he is about to slam into the monstrous beast a blast of thunder sends a shock wave all around him, the sound is deafening as it echos of the wood and brick of the buildings in the small village.

The lightning bird man's spell throws the enormous wolf back on its haunches. The nearest dire wolf leaps onto another roof and lunges upward at the target but cant get a hold of him. The hobgoblin's fire their arrows but can't land a shot on the whirling bird. But with plenty of will to fight left, the massive white beast rises to its feet and surges forward. It leaps with supernatural power into the air and deflty snaps its avian prey from the sky, landing with a broken wing dangling from its mouth. The wolves move in to begin gnawing on their unconscious prey while the hobgoblins attempt to determine who becomes their commander now...

And cale is dead unless another casting of shield would make him miss, but as I have expended most of my offensive power and I can only cast shield so many times... yeah best to just say he dies

Yeah in future it's helpful to let me know anticipated uses of your reaction. Depending on your AC, shield would have made that miss.

I think we’d be good with the one playtest, but if you guys want to try again I’d be down for that

caster4life |

Starting again.
You enter the town at dusk. Things are all too quiet here. That's why you were sent here in the first place. The authorities found losing communication with an entire town quite... troubling... The vibrant colors of the flowers lining the streets testify to the recent tender loving care of the town's absent residents... The lonely wind whistles through the trees and buildings unaccompanied by the typical sounds...
Map up. Each square represents 5 feet. Buildings are 10 feet high and require a DC 12 athletics check to get on top of (no check required if you have a rope rigged). Everything but the road is difficult terrain. The road thin roads are consistently 5 feet across while the thicker roads are consistently 10 feet across. There is water in the central fountain. The doors to the buildings are closed (interact with an object to open if unlocked). You enter from the west.
We are not currently in an initiative order. What do you want to do? Choose carefully.

Cathirix |

Yikes. That's a very scary initiative roll for team wolf-hob.
At the cry of the enemy inside the building, the town erupts into activity around you. Wolves and hobgoblins leap out from buildings all around. One wolf bites at Kyenthel while a nearby hobgoblin wearing no armor throws four darts at her. She dodges the bite and raises her shield to deflect the darts (I'm assuming you're wielding your shield as it wasn't specified). Another unarmored attacker throws a hail of darts at Shadow in his prominent rooftop position while 6 hobgoblin archers fire at him from distance (22 damage total to Shadow). Fleet predators rush over to Tebeth and Cale, snapping at both of them. Tebeth is pulled down (7 damage and prone). The large white wolf squeezes tightly through some buildings and bites hard on Archeron but fails to knock him down (12 damage).
Everone, GO!!!

Silken Shadow |

As a reaction Shadow will use..
If you reduce the damage to 0, you can catch the missile if it is small enough for you to hold in one hand and you have at least one hand free. If you catch a missile in this way, you can spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack (20/60 feet) with the weapon or piece of ammunition you just caught, as part of the same reaction. You make this attack with proficiency, regardless of your weapon proficiencies, and the missile counts as a monk weapon for the attack.

Good call, Shadow. The first arrow did 7 damage so you only took 15 damage instead of 22.
Awesome, Tebeth! Good to see you in action instead of swarmed immediately. Thanks for making everything very clear.
