I don't know how much (if any) mundane gear is needed, lots of table variance on that. If the answer is not much, then Kincaid is good to go!

1. MDT, I'm glad that's all moving apace I know that has been quite the process for a while but I can imagine this leg being anxiety provoking. I'm glad its (hopefully) coming to a more stable point though, you deserve a break after the last couple of years. -_-
2. I am ready! Psychic Attack Bush is GO.

RE: More GM troubles.
Sorry everyone, seems like I can't catch a break. This weeks fun is infected wisdom tooth and pain.. lots of pain... Have appointment in AM with surgeon about having all 3 pulled. Trying to get stuff posted as I can...
Mr Kincaid |
Ouch. I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 18, didn't see the dentist again for ~15 years lol (amazingly I still have all my other teeth and they're intact). Injections in the roof of your mouth are the worst.
Mr Kincaid |
Folks I'm going on my semi-annual transatlantic business trip and will be traveling this weekend and next. I expect to have internet access at the hotel so I should be able to post, but I may be slower at responding than usual. Please bot if needed.
@mdt I hope the treatment went well!

So, some things I've learned :
1) I am allergic to Oxycodon.
2) The nerves in my gums are not connected to the same nerve ganglia as the nerves in the roots of my front teeth.
3) It is very very difficult to eat when you can't feel your bottom lip, your chin, or the skin between.
4) Being allergic to Oxycodon is not a fun thing.
5) Projectile vomiting when you have fresh stitches in your mouth is painful... very painful... excruciating.
6) When my teeth can feel but my gums can't, my body screams 'something is wrong' and sends pain transmissions non-stop from my tooth roots to let me know my gums are messed up (because they aren't getting feedback from my brain).
7) Rinsing with salt water gets old really fast.
8) Mushy food gets old really fast.
9) Spahgetti is just mushy enough to eat, and just rough enough to hurt my surgery area.
10) Being allergic to Oxycodon sucks giant rocks.
11) Lack of sleep, lack of food, and non-stop tooth pain makes it all but impossible to concentrate and make posts in your games you're playing in.
12) Lack of sleep, lack of food, and non-stop tooth pain makes it all but impossible to concentrate and make posts in your games you're running.
Things are improving, but it's slow. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have the energy to do posts in all my games. My apologies.
Rokas Nepavyk |
Take your time to recover, can't say for everyone, but I'm sure most would agree. We rather wait for you to be in goos shape to post then rush it and make confusing post.
So, heal, get better and come back when you are good.
Terexaltherin |
Those don't sound like the kinds of discoveries you really want to make.
Rest well and heal up! Don't rush it. We'll be here when you're better.
mdt |
Ok, feeling better finally, missed two days of work last week due to what I think is a dry socket on one of my jaws, it's still painful, but I"m not throbbing and aching all night like I was last week. I'm going to try to pick back up now. I actually have slept all night two nights in a row, and the jaw cramps didn't hit today, so that's good. Still have problems feeling my chin though.
Mr Kincaid |
Hopefully you've turned a corner! My Dad had something similar happen when he had some impacted wisdom teeth removed. The feeling did eventually come back.
Re the game and scouting, can Terex bridge the gap between whoever is scouting and the rest of us? What's the range limit on communication if we do that?
Terexaltherin |
Glad you're at least on the mend! Hopefully it'll continue to improve.
Terex could be the one doing the scouting, himself. As a tiny creature, he's very, very stealthy, and he has decent Perception. His communication range is only a 60' radius, so he could theoretically relay almost 120' by being 60' behind the scout and 60' from the rest of the group.
Abbo Lyrio |
I think we all can move fairly stealthily - some better than the others. I think the game is slow enough already, that's what I'm saying - we can probably try to approach with the entire group and stop with the overcaution.
mdt |
I am considering adding a sixth game I'm running, now that my work life has settled down with my new job (And my jaw is no longer stabbing pain into my brain). If you are interested in GURPS, you can look here and if interested, let me know in the thread.
Rather than do a public recruitment, I'm just going to ask people I'm playing with already first.
mdt |
At this point, you have two options.
A) Let them put you in a cell and hope they determine you are not a threat.
B) Fight your way out.
If you go with option (A), you will be imprisoned by a potentially hostile force.
If you go with option (B), you will need to fight your way out of the tower, and down 100 ft of stairs past very angry (and hungry!) gnolls. With most of you not having any weapons.
Rokas Nepavyk |
The way Rokas sees this, there is no reason we should trust her word. Once we are in a cell, there isn't much we can do. We could be put to death without any chance of fighting back.
Abbo Lyrio |
Oh, I'm not complaining about your rationale, my friend! It does make sense that they're scared and acting like that... Which doesn't, however, mean that Abbo will comply with being put in a cell having committed no crime, and having zero trust on the gnolls :)
Terexaltherin |
Yeah, I think this all makes perfect sense. It's the sort of tragic misunderstanding that was probably inevitable in the circumstances without some *really* good dice rolls on our part.
mdt |
Oddly enough, the last group I ran through this had a 'face' who managed to roll 17 or higher every single roll. So this is the first time I've run through the 'failed diplomacy' subplot.
Mr Kincaid |
Well that's a sticky situation! Neither option seems desirable.
Allow ourselves to be captured: They could do anything, execute us, torture us for information, take all our gear, etc... Even if they are honorable, our superiors may take exception to our surrender. MDT would they take exception?
Fight our way out: Utterly ruins any hope of a peaceful accord. Some of us are hampered without weapons. Non zero risk of alignment consequences. Only "upside" is they seem pretty adamantly against Kotelia and I suppose could loosely be be defined as the enemy.
Short of lucky dice rolls I don't know what to do here. Normally I'd probably pop detect evil but I assume that would be regarded as massive provocation... I suppose paladins should strive to do the lest harm, probably thats option A unless our surrender has consequences we can't foresee.
mdt |
You get the feeling your commander takes exception to failure, and not much else. So, if surrender succeeds, you feel he probably won't complain too much. Surrender and fail, he might gut you. Vice versa also, fight and succeed, and he probably won't complain too much, fight and fail and he might gut you.
Rokas Nepavyk |
Kincaid was named team leader, if he tells Rokas to drop his stuff and not resist, he will. He won't be happy, but he will. But so far, Rokas find that the group made a big leap of faith with dropping their weapons and walking into the Gnolls den. Did we lie, of course we did. First contact with an unknown force, we weren't about to tell them everything like they wouldn't tell us everything also. It's part of diplomacy.
So like I said, Rokas will follow the leader. But until Kincaid says anything, he will try to avoid being captured and render even more defenseless.
mdt |
Kincaid/Hylar - You can lie or tell the truth as you wish to any question. Nothing is forcing you to tell the truth or lie.
However, they are reading surface thoughts, and if you want to avoid them picking up your surface thoughts in response to each question, you'll need to make a Will save (DC 18) to keep the thoughts from flickering through your mind.
Terexaltherin |
I got some fun art of Terex in one of his favorite environments. :)
mdt |
Since it came up, the more the group talks to the Gnolls, the more they get the sense the Gnolls are LN, not CE. Something has pushed their alignment hard lawful and moderately neutral.
Terexaltherin |
I'd gotten that impression, definitely. Hence why Terex has been eager to talk to them, and willing to put up with imprisonment to clear their names.
mdt |
Same reason Kotelia natives lean strongly Lawful. When you're in a centuries long defensive position, with periodic attacks, you have to have strict social customs to avoid the population blowing up at itself.
Terexaltherin |
DM, could you mark about where we met the Gra'Vall on the map? That would help us adjust our course.
