The website instability is why I have not moved forward into an encounter. When it stabilizes, I'll move forward. Until then, feel free to RP amongst yourselves/with the NPCs.
Do serpentfolk have any worse of a reputation than the other races?
Kotelia wouldn't know much at all about them.
Nate & Geth would have heard stories about them, but no major details. Everything is 'bad' if it's not close enough to encounter directly. The Druvei never made it far enough south through the jungle to reach the serpentfolk when they were in the war, so no stories there.
Going with the connotation of snakes. People don't trust snakes or snakelike entities.
Oh, Terex did ask the NPC's a question earlier that was never answered: What are the serpentfolk like?

The power says it works like Grease.
Grease affects a single object or 10x10 square.
To affect someone, they have to be in the area of it.
If they are bigger than the area effected, they can avoid the affected area by not stepping in that area.
It would be no different than me putting a banana peel down while you are dancing. As long as you don't step on the peel, it doesn't affect you, because your size allows you to avoid it. An ant would not be able to avoid the banana peel.
I understand I just had gms allow it to trip huge creatures with the point that if you loose your footing with one leg you could still fall belly flat, that's why I tried it.
If it was a giant, I'd give it a shot, as they only have 2 legs. But a Quadruped has four, so one leg won't really do it. No big deal.

The login cookie seems to last about 1 day for me now. It is annoying.
Mine seems to last for multiple days now. You might want to completely clear your cache, see if that helps.

I love how everyone's fine with indulging Terex's book addiction. :D Now I'm imagining him slowly building up a personal library over the course of the campaign (carried by you guys, of course). :)
I'm getting married this Friday, so it's quite possible I'll be somewhat... distracted for the next while. So if I disappear for a bit feel free to have my character do all of the smart things I haven't thought of.

Oh yes my wedding was a blur. Congratulations btw!
It seemed long enough on the day, but there's just so much that happens and I really regret that I remember a few brief moments from such an important day. I have memories of the pictures, the first time I saw my wife descending stairs in her dress, her walking down the aisle, some portions of the vows and whatnot, our unity ceremony, and some times after, but honestly I would think that I'd remember the whole day in vivid detail, but it's just sparse patches. I wish I had videotaped some parts of it.
If it goes well, you remember little. If it goes badly, you remember just about everything. I've never watched the DVD we had made, because I remember it all. :P
No DVD, a number of glorious photos though. And we did a photo booth at the reception, that was nearly worth it. Given my social aversion, it was a supremely enjoyable experience.

A mix, two different generators, one for titles, one for descriptions, with a couple of them typed in by me when the two generators didn't line up. :)

To my fellow players and gms
I will be updating my games at a slower pace for a while longer, you'd probably already noticed it's been slow from me the last weeks.
I might be going down with psychological stress from the new work I started after new years. I had barely worked a week before we were told our jobs were in jeopardy and could be lost at any moment. I tried to handle it but instead ended up bottling it untill I broke down last night after I got home.
I have an appointment with my doctor and union tomorrow and will take things from there.
I'll keep you informed and update the game when I have some good moments

I'm on steroids and antibiotics. I've been cycling being well and sick since Christmas, and it appears my lungs were trying to develop pneumonia again. So bear with me and apologies for not posting as regularly as I could have, been a lot more tired/distracted than I realized.

Ok, to get back on track, is there any book specifically or topic you are wanting other than the 'teach me to speak' book they don't have?
Coming up with random books is time consuming, and I don't really have time/energy just now. If you really want a list of random books, I can do it, but it'll be later in the week when I'm on vacation.
At this point, I think it might be best to just speed things along by saying "Terex finds 50 gp worth of random books he finds interesting" or something like that--he doesn't have anything he was particularly looking for. I honestly wasn't expecting everyone to go along with his book-buying plan. XD The only possibly-relevant things he'd look for are books on the history and geography of the area.
Hopefully people haven't gotten too bored with this little side jaunt, given that it's entirely Terex's fault.

Feeling better, which is good, because I leave on vacation today. Getting sick the week before vacation sucks.
I'll be driving all day today, but will begin vacation posting Thursday. Going to be a bit of a boring vacation (visiting in-laws in the boondocks, so not much to do). Should be able to post frequently.

Hi everyone.
I'm again sorry for not posting, and it's turning into a normal thing, rather than an exception. :( This particular game is very time consuming, mostly because the GM has to communicate everything about the world in every post, so that takes much more time than posting into an existing game world that everyone already has in their mind.
Unfortunately, between health and work, I am going to have to cut back on my games, and I feel like it's not fair to keep everyone waiting for a week or so between posts by me. I can just barely find time enough to post in 2 or 3 games where it takes me 10 or 15 minutes to post. The half-hour or so I usually spend on this game, with some taking a half hour or so due to needing to type up notes for future reference, are just getting beyond me.
I'll leave the game up for a few days to allow people to post in response, and then shut it down. I apologize again for doing so.

I'm GMing a mostly homebrew game at the moment so I can appreciate the effort that goes into running something like this. Thank you for sharing your world with us! Take care of yourself mdt, hope to game with you again some day.
