I am confused by the sister thing. Should I know who Othelia is? If we are still deciding whose sister that is I think it makes more sense if Marcus is here for professional reasons rather than personal ones. Either sent here to investigate or responding to a request to help investigate the orphanage. Perhaps whoever sent for a paladin is disappointed that they seem to have gotten half of one.
About the map, the other games I played in had maps in google docs.

One of the PC's should be looking for a sister/niece/other female. The other PC's should know about the relationship, but it certainly doesn't have to be of particular importance for them.
It's really a mechanic to drive a little bit of the story with the orphanage.
If the PC wants to play a deep and heavy attachment that's fine. If they have a curiosity only, that's also fine.

I am fine with being the one searching for Othelia. I modified my back story before we started so that I was searching for a missing monk. But that is fully up to the rest of you.

Okay I believe we have a spreadsheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X0ZuE0ZHTDctudZsAaupYGHs0KkQfNkEDAS IEf9CPAw/edit?usp=sharing
It's as ugly as heck.
The porch will require an engineering check to see if it is stable.
That said there seem to be enough supports to balance on, and characters can move at half speed across it, they cannot run across it, It is a DC12 check to move at full speed. Failing the check by five or move will have you fall to the ground, which won't give you any damage but will make you flat footed and end your turn. (There is no difficulty getting out of there)

GM John, I am getting a file does not exist error trying to get to that link. Also to make your URL's actually be links of the forums, you do The text that will be the hyperlink[backslash url]

John Whyte |

Okay I now have 2 questions :
1) How do you do the green formating?
2) I copied and pasted the code for the second dark form from the first, both rolls were identical across both dark forms. I had not submitted the roll I had just written
[ dice]1d20+6[ /dice] vs touch ac, if hitting doing [ dice]1d6[ /dice] of strength damage as a negative energy effect (no save value listed)
and then gone CTR-C, CTR-V to save me some keystrokes.

Borgag Skywatcher |

To get green text it's [dice=text you want]1d20+ ect.
Slightly confused by your second question, are you afraid that the copy/paste gave you the same number? It doesn't you can copy/paste all you want. The shadowy forms are just really unlucky.

Actually some people have said that if you use a copy paste then immediately submit they will give the same number. I can not confirm that it is true, but I've seen it posted several times.
So some of people will use the copy paste then slightly change them (ex ample 1 and 2). Then they won't get the same results.
touch attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25, if hits damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
touch attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20, if hits damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Or they will make sure they do some other typing before they submit.

Either way is fine with me. If you are enjoying GMing your online campaign, I have no problem expanding it from the original perview.
Also just a heads up, my posting may be a bit off until Monday. Going on a business trip this weekend, and I'm not sure how much time or internet I will have. I should be able to post at least once between tomorrow and Friday, but posting this weekend is going to be a crap shoot.
So NPC me if you need to, I spend most of the rest of my gold on a potion of remove fear.

Okay here here is the spreadsheet for the house (its another page of the one of Mother Comfort's orphanage.
O1 and O2 are the two opponents.

I will freely admit, I don't watch/read horror stories and am not that great at figuring out mysteries anyhow. So I'm afraid I will be of limited help in figuring out what to do next in order to put the spirits to rest.
I would be tempted to say just burn the building completely to the ground and bury the ashes with holy water. But I know of at least a couple times when I've been told doing something like that basically makes the ghosts permanent because then you can't ever complete X spiritual rights to lay the spirits.

John Whyte |

I'm going to be quite straight up - its not a complicated mystery type here.
As a DM however I am always in favor of direct routes being used to solve problems. Burning things down solves all sorts of problems and is an appropriate and adequate response to all sorts of evils. Not all but far more than most people seem to give credit for :)
