Gen Con 2017 Way too early pre-muster

Silver Crusade 4/5

Continuing my annual tradition of starting this thread a few days too late, since I probably should have started it a week ago...

Anyone want to get together to play at Gen Con? It would be nice to meet and play with some of the people I've interacted with here on the forums. I'm only doing 3 sessions of PFS this year at Gen Con:

[1] Thursday afternoon: Haven't bought a ticket yet. Already played most of season 8 as they came out, so I'll probably go for one of the new season 9 scenarios. Also considering 7-99 Through Maestrom Rift, since I never got around to playing that one.
[2] Friday evening special at subtier 3-4. Have room for 4 more players.
[3] Saturday evening special at subtier 3-4. Have room for 4 more players.

Even if you're not interested in joining me on these sessions, feel free to use this thread for your own recruiting that doesn't include me.

I have tickets subtier 10-11 for both Friday and Saturday. Likely play a 10 or 11 level ranger that likes to anchor things then beat on it. Has an AC with the Squeely Nor boon on it.

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5 **** Venture-Captain, Nebraska—Omaha

So I am looking to see if anyone would like to pre-muster for the 10-11 subtier of both specials.

I am likely to play a 10th level Ranger/Stalwart Defender with a boar animal companion. He likes to use his warhammer of anchoring and throwing to lock down the enemy before moving up to beat on them.

I also have a 9th level reach cleric that also focused on summoning.

Let me know if interested!

Silver Crusade 4/5

Just an update about my own schedule: I bought a ticket for 9-01 (levels 1-5) for Thursday afternoon, along with a friend. So that's another table where I have room for 4 more, if anyone wants to play with us.

So...

My wife and I will be playing the Friday special at Tier 1-2. She's a Pathfinder novice (though with plenty of AD&D RPG experience) and I'd love to be a part of an RP-heavy, solid group. She'll play Amiri, and I have...so many level 1s I can't choose.

And then just me at the Saturday special in Tier 7-8 with my Unchained Rogue Sniper.

Also playing the Race for the Chalice 2-parter Saturday during the day, but haven't given that one much thought yet.

Oh, shoot. I'd love to play with you on Friday, pH unbalanced, but I have a ticket for 5-6. Maybe I can arrange a trade? I at least want to meet you in person!

The Concordance 4/5 *** Venture-Captain, Missouri—Kansas City

Gary, for Assault on Absalom I am bringing a L11 Skald that can do a bit of everything but primarily a buffer/secondary melee in combat and a diplomancer out of combat. Also have a friend bringing a L11 paladin (don't remember the build offhand but can get details if you need)

That is sounding pretty good. Just need a healer, maybe some wizard time, and ????

But looking good.

You can always use your ticket as a generic, just means the table will sat after the start.

And you can always watch for that tier to open and grab the ticket and return your other higher tier for credit. But you have return before the start of the event.

Gary, with how bad our pre-mustered table was last year, I almost wonder if it's better to join a random group in the hallway :).

Anyway, this year I have three characters in range for tier 10-11 for 9-00: a barbarian, a wizard, or a cleric (archer).

(Edit: I already played 8-99 at PaizoCon, so I won't fit in a group that wants to stay together for both.)

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5 **** Venture-Captain, Nebraska—Omaha

Eric,

Our table was a blast! And the one who was bleeding out would have stabilized before his turn because I would have gotten to him in time with a wand. My monk bass even played in eyes of the ten now.

I had not intended on playing both with the same crew but it would be fun.

That said, I am up for another table with you Eric.

There is someone who may doing a 5 star qualifier table.

May it is worth burning a star?

I'll be in 10-11 on Saturday night, not sure who I will be bringing. I will also be in 8-25 Sunday morning with a Bard13.

Presuming my skald survives Saturday night I have a Sunday morning ticket for 8-25.

What is this "a non-PFS event" thing? Have never heard of such a thing! Is a new monster? Perhaps a new archetype?

Is The Solstice Scar on Friday?

Looking at my journal, for The Solstice Scar I have a Paladin 10, Owlbear 10 with Druid companion, Sorcerer 10, and Oracle 10, and Alchemist 10. No guarantee that some won't level out before then.

Liberty's Edge 3/5 5/5 **** Venture-Captain, Nebraska—Omaha

Any and all are welcome! Boar and Owlbear companions could be fun!

Yes, it's a new monster. On Thursday evening, They Might Be Giants will be attacking. I hear they're huge. Bringing the proper sized minis to run that combat might be difficult, given everything else I have to bring with me.

If you decide to make a trade that would be awesome, but I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point.

While Gary's post was quite helpful, trying to switch tiers sounds more complicated than I think I want to deal with. I'll stick with 5-6 and just make sure to say hello!

I've got a level 10 Archeologist Bard (Scarab Sage) or a level 11 Dwarf Fighter (Grand Lodge) and real tickets to both nights that I can bring to the table.

Cool. So unless our 6th for 9-00 is another arcane caster, it looks like I should probably bring my wizard. It will be fun to to get the Skald's raging song on my augmented counterpoised ankylosaurus, and other summoned creatures.

I'm looking for a home for my Sound Striker 8/9 For 9-03 Thursday morning and whatever of my stable works for 9-01 Friday morning. Sadly I'm working during the specials.

Silver Crusade 4/5

I've still got 4 more seats available at all 3 of the PFS tables I'm playing:

1. Thursday afternoon 9-01 with Wei Ji the Learner (not sure which subtier)
2. Friday night special subtier 3-4 with another friend of mine
3. Saturday night special subtier 3-4 with the same friend as the other special

Hey, I'm running 9-1 that slot. I'd love to have a 5-Star VC come, play and give me feedback on how bad a job I'm doing, err some constructive feedback that is.

That's a bit trickier, though it could be possible. Gm requests tend to drive Marshals nuts. I know, I've been the man with the clipboard.

My paladin is much the same, so I'll probably have him stay at the lodge, guarding the groceries or something. It'll be a question of if we need arcane or divine support.

I'm interested in claiming those last two #8-99 slots for myself and my daughter, Alex.

I'd be playing a Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple and she has a natural weapon martial (Ranger/Fighter/Barbarian). We'll need to get a game or two in, but will be 10th level by then.

Given the martial heavy makeup, I'm leaning towards Oracle or Sorcerer, both of whom can buff the party.
