What is a good module for newer players?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

At the store I frequent, we seem to have a lot of newer players. I thought that I would use this chance to grow the community. I want to run Dragon's Demand. However, I want to work up to that. So, given that my likely players will have a little experience, should I start with Master of the Fallen Fortress? Also, what is a good regular module or two to run before moving up to Dragon's Demand? Thank you for helping me to grow my local community.

I'd recommend Murder's Mark.

I found Hollow's Last Hope to be a good low level adventure.

If it is just to wet thier wistle for the first time you may want the We be Goblins as a one shot type play to see if they like the way the game is played.

We be goblins is definately a strong recommendation for me it is a son of fun and not overly complicated in the rules it uses. It also introduces the players to the slightly off beat nature of paizo's writing and setting.

Crypt of the Everflame is the classic new players' module.

I'll second Crypt of the Everflame.

Other good choices are: Master of the Fallen Fortress and The Godsmouth Heresy.

Another option would be Murder's Mark. It's a great module, but might not be the best choice for new players: It's heavy on investigation, and gets a bit fiddly with the rules.

It's both very short (16 pages) and written for 3.5 OGL rules, but Into the Haunted Forest is a fun little adventure that I've used with new players.

It's not out at the time I write this, but Gallows of Madnes is written for new players and GMs in mind.

If you're looking for something suitable for younger players as well as beginners, also check out Legendary Games' Legendary Beginnings series.

I second Hollow's Last Hope. First one I ever ran as DM.

I also recommend this option, but watch out for

Spoiler:
the incorporeal ghost, as most players (new ones especially) won't be able to hurt it at that level

The adventure in the Beginner's Box is another excellent intro, and can be played in a single session. You could play it with full rules if you didn't want to limit it to the stripped-down version.

I introduced my current group of players using Into the Haunted Forest, followed by Hollow's Last Hope. We're still playing the campaign that started two years later, so I'd call it a success!

I'd say the Godsmouth Heresy is a shoe in.
It has a nice amount of combat, some solid chances for roleplaying and a nice moral choice problem at the end which presents a great hook for future games.
