UPDATE. About 38 hours left. Here is the current tally:
63 total

Bestiary: 7
Class: 11
Crunch: 7.5
Fiction: 9
Fluff/Flavor: 5 (2 gazetteers)
Game: 1
Magic Items: 0.5 (half an article is a magic item)
Poetry/Song: 5
Sidetrek Seed: 7
Weal or Woe: 9

So what do we need now?

Monsters are still looking a little sparse.
More fluff/flavor is needed, not necessarily just gazetteers.
Still no abundance of magic items.

Are you considering raising the max submission total from three to increase those numbers?

I still have a flavor-y/crunchy ethnology article and at least one critter; I'm just sitting on them until tomorrow to catch any last minute hiccups and maybe tighten them up until they squeak. Not sure I'll be happy enough with the second critter to also submit it (it's missing "something".)

I'll whip up some magic items and a monster or two. :)

So I have some monster ideas, but I don't know if they are too out there. Numeria is upstream of the River Kingdoms on the Sellen, and while it is a bit of an genre bender for the themes of the Kingdoms, it seems to me that some Numeria's miscrent technological terrors could wind up being carried downstream. I've got three or four ideas for robots, most aquatic (cause Rivers) and one poison themed as a MacGuffin for Daggermark. Do those sound like they are close enough to the issue's theme to make it in?

Honestly, robots invading the River Kingdoms would be good for, say, a Side Trek Seed (sounds kinda cool), but I'm not sure they would be on theme for the bestiary. You are welcome to surprise me, though!

3rd submission is away. It's a tad experimental as it's magic items themed on kingdom building rules.

Sczarni RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

I am surprised by the lack of magic items. That was one of my two original ideas, both of which I ditched...

I was going to do Hanspur and Gyronna inspired items, mostly with an occult flair.

Tracking submissions by day:

Nov 26 -> ~12
Dec 03 -> 17
Dec 15 -> 22
Dec 22 -> 25
Dec 24 -> 30
Dec 28 -> 45 (46)
Dec 30 -> 63

The first ~15 took until early December, the second ~15 ~24 days, the third ~15 4 days, the fourth ~15 2 days. At this rate I'd guess we'll hit 80+ by the deadline.

The above stats leave me wondering how many "Oh dayum! It's 3 a.m. on Jan 1st, let me drunken design something!" submissions there will be?

Apropos of nothing, that scenario is my suspicion about how we got owlbears.

I know time is short, but if anyone has NPC suggestions, I'll consider them for inclusion. So far I have:

Bandit - Human fighter1/rogue1 (thug)
Tymon Gladiator - Half-orc fighter4 (brawler)
Cultist of Gyronna - Changeling mesmerist7 (cult master)

I also have Black Eagle and Daggermark Poisoner slated for inclusion. I might need a level 5 something for the Cultist's cohort, but I can just suggest NPCs from the NPC Codex for that - it's not essential.

So, if anyone has ideas - especially ideas that would dovetail well with their own submissions - I'm listening. ^_^

An owlbear.

*sigh*

I see a lot of fiction...

I just sent a piece of fiction myself...

Need more magic items?

Wayfinder is one of the places where I think items with backstories would actually fit (as opposed to Super Star which is intended to be setting neutral).

Sent in a muddy little monster. More minions!

Good luck for the final push!

I submitted a muddy monster as well... But a big 'un!

Submitted a song, almost done with CR 2 plant, and I can whip up some items or spells too.

Submitted two short stories. Sorry the first time I sent they lacked full meta data.

Ok, I went a little magic item happy tonight and did 2,250 words of them. I might split them into one 1,500, one 750, and attempt a monster--or just send them as three 750s? lol

Sent in the CR 2 plant monster! Adventurers beware of the marshy, reedy places!

Debating on magic items or an organization for my 3rd.

I posted this in the Blazing 9 thread. If you get to many single magic items, I will be happy to collect them into appropriate sized articles.

Uh Oh! Blazing 9 needs to better represent. Unlike most Wayfinder articles, several items can be combined to complete the necessary wordcount. So if you have even one River Kingdoms themed item in the next 12 or so hours, consider sending it in. :)

If folks want to try and create a common theme, I am hoping to exploit the changing leadership of the kindgoms. Something akin to Flag of Convenience ability of the Low Templar PrC, or something that targets this Warlord today, that Warlord tomorrow. No matter who is collecting taxes, the common folk have to plant during planting season and harvest during harvest season.

This closes at midnight, not noon, correct? Saw it from Blazing Nine and hope to get a few items in.

I think we are full up on Fiction, Class, and Weal or Woes. If you are still working on something for those, KEEP GOING and send it in. If you are still thinking on something to send (really, with 13 hrs left??), consider one of these 3 categories:

Monsters. The more we get, the better the bestiary section.
Still more fluff/flavor is needed.
Doing a little better on magic items, but would like to see more.

One toxic effigy going your way. Try to avoid inhaling the sweet smell of incense around it.

So, I only discovered Wayfinder a couple of days ago and I really like it! I've been meaning to get back to doing some game writing, so I just sent in my first submission. There seemed to be an urgent need for magic items, so I put together a little something. I hope you like it.

Thanks for jumping on board so quickly! We're glad you like it, and glad to have you!

Good luck on your submission, too! I look forward to reading it.

So, if I submit something to Wayfinder, can I use it elsewhere? I just realized that's not covered in the OP, unless I missed it.

One monster, one 750 word magic item, and one 1,500 word magic item article submitted.

Hey, KC.

Check out this post [LINK]. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Splendiferous!

Scarab Sages

It's been a funny week; flood waters all around my town in several directions, bridges and roads washed away, me perched on a hill, out of the worst, with kids off school, my autistic son going mental, because he can't go on the train like I promised. Got a small shingles outbreak, which I'm gritting though, and to top it all, we lost the internet last night, through to mid morning (Not now! WHY NOW?!)

Nevertheless, I got custody of my laptop back. Finished polishing some lines in two songs, to make them scan better.

Going to have to abort the longer ones, as they would just not fit.
Saw the recommendation for 35-50 lines. Obvious really, as they take up more space than normal prose.
And I'll abandon a few ideas where it wasn't coming together as I'd liked. Don't have time to spare.

Got two that I like, 32 lines and 20 lines, equals 52, plus titles and spaces, would bring it to 70 lines.
Is that okay on it's own, or would you want some surrounding exposition?

Well, this submission went long. But sending off my first one now: A River Kingdoms construct!

Sovereign Court

Sounds like we're past 80 by now. Might even push 90.

I haven't really read Wayfinder before, but this weekend a friend told me I should submit something, and I started putting some ideas together. It turns out you might be set for crunch, but that's what I was working on, so there you go! Submission in. Also, I have now read parts of Wayfinder #13 and #14! I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

My batch of NPCs is done, with 5 hours to go. Can I come up with another idea and get it written in that time?

Let's find out! ^_^

Sovereign Court

A second article is going to be sent in presently. "Ozymandias' Tips for Banditry" is the title; I leave it to you to figure out the theme ;)
