Season 6 guide

Do we have an idea when we're expecting the Season 6 guide? I assume that there will be a number of changes and such needed for GenCon, and it'd be nice to have a little advance prep time given all the other time that must also go into getting ready for such a large con. While I'd obviously like to see it out ASAP, I'm posting with the intention of getting a likely release date rather than to pressure those in charge to release the document before it's ready.

I think last year, they released it a week or two before GenCon, which would put it in the "any day now" category.

Honestly, if we have to update characters in time for GenCon due to a new guide, they are forgetting that this is a game, not a job.

Just like how the ACG is coming out at GenCon, so I'd expect to be able to play my Warpriest without it.

So that being said, I'm trusting Mike and company to respect our time.

You will need the ACG, and your playtest characters will need to be updated according to the ACG in order to be played at Gen Con.

That is the inherent risk when choosing to play playtest characters (it was exactly the same for the APG). If you're not able to do the necessary updates, I'd suggest playing different PCs for this one event.

I think last year GM's got an early edition of the Guide so they could facilitate secondary success conditions and weed out Shadow Lodge and Lantern Lodge. Then a couple days after Gen Con, they released the (revised) Guide to the public.

Honestly though, with the exception of races going out the door and faction changes, there will likely be nothing groundbreaking or gamechanging in the new version. Just trust the GM's to let you know of any minor changes while you're there.

The goal is to release Guide 6.0 and the updated Additional resources with both July and August releases on Monday's blog. This could change depending on art and layout's schedule, but that is the current plan.

Well factions are a big one. The other thing I'm curious on really is an update to the GM-Star Replays... do they renew, and under what circumstances.

In the know direction podcast, they said they were going to make a convention boon to reset the stars that you can use once per year.

For any given release date of any product, there will always be someone who wishes they could use it the day before.

I'm sure the folks at Paizo are putting in some serious overtime this time of year, getting everything ready for GenCon.
