Well, if you want a list of all 155 guilds currently listed through the Goblinworks website that updated every 15 minutes with membership in one long page view...

Tada!

There's a bug where it mis-pulls the website link as the motto in groups that have 0 members, but I'll fix that tonight when I have some time.

Awesome! Thanks.

Now can you demonstrate your awesome prowess and make it archive the numbers at midnight PDT each day? Or even just email a copy of each update to somewhere?

Goblin Squad Member

There's a similar plan in the works. However, tonight I watch The LEGO Movie.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

That sounds AWESOME!

(and if you don't have an earworm, afterwards, you have no soul)

Added 5 new guilds, no contacts, a couple of websites mostly 1 person:

180 Blood Brothers - 1
181 Twisted Blades -
182 Horns Guard - 2
183 The Disorderlies - 3
184 af Ginnungagap - 1

Very neat. Thank you Virgil.

Ah, it's not if you have zero members. It's if you have no motto. Fixed it. Please refresh for more accurate numbers.

The first new entry into the Top 30 this week is The Guardians, a multi-game guild, stepping up to #28 with seven votes. On those votes alone, they appear to've knocked Four Rivers Mercenary Corp, at Site T, off the bubble.

With the Hunker Down bonuses, however, The Guardians need another two votes to claim a site for themselves. Otium Explorator (Site A), due to a smaller bonus and higher Guild Number, will be the first group to lose their current Settlement Site, but--for the moment--they're still safe.

Goblin Squad Member

I've added a row at the top for the total votes, so they are less likely to get messed up by resorts and shifts.

Also separated the Landrush 1 settlements at the top, so they are no longer part of the finagling.

If you are actually logged in to google, and grant it permission to run scripts, there is a script menu that allows you to resort a few ways without having to figure out what to include or not.

Another new Top 30er: Terra Australis Incognito, in #28 with eight votes, moving The Guardians down to #29. The Hunker Down bonuses tell the new comers they need one and two more votes to take Settlements from Otium Explorator and The Bastard Sons of Daggermark, the two groups now on the bubble.

Four Rivers Mercenary Corp, while technically in #30, has a substantial Hunker Down bonus; someone'll need 10 votes to take Site T from them.

Terra Australis Incognito, the most-recent entrant to the Top 30, has now become the first new Guild to qualify for a Settlement this week, by recording their ninth vote. Barring further changes, they'll bump Otium Explorator, who currently reside at Site A.

We likey the updates Jazz! Any idea why registered guilds fell to 154 and who left?

Or Bastard Sons..., depending who they select.

Goblin Squad Member

And, of course, if one of the others near the bottom gets bumped by someone higher, they'll lose their hunker down bonus, so it's hardly a given...

Sorry, I've been making no real effort to keep track of the bottom of the Guild list, as there's been quite a bit of constant low-level churn down there. I've seen signs that there've been Guilds, for example, that created and disbanded in only an hour or two, so I decided to stay sane and concentrate on the Top 40, as those'll be where we see action headed toward the Top 30.

Goblin Squad Member

Caldeathe Baequiannia wrote:

Absolutely. I chose to name Otium only because they have a higher Guild Number; they and the Bastard Sons, by virtue of both having been bumped from their prior Sites last week, have identical Hunker Down bonuses.

For all the readers: there are so very many moving factors, especially in positions 20-30, that you should please treat nothing I say as the final word on anything; it's mostly advertising for Caldeathe's Excellent Spreadsheet, where you'll all be able to draw your own conclusions, which will, likely, often differ from mine.

I've filled in all the guild numbers that are missing in action. One is an error, as I don't know what guild number Fidelis was before their strategic move to Ozem's Vigil.

And I should mention it was made possible in Part by Virgil's Excellent Land Rush Leaderboard

Fidelis was never in the Land Rush.

Goblin Squad Member

So 999 is the perfect number for them.

Awww. You say the nicest things.

Projects for this week are to make that one and the Green Post Tracker both auto-update when new information comes out.

I think I'm going to make the Green Post Tracker searchable the week after.

Until you came along, I was doing view source and copying and pasting 11 separate pages of guilds....

Okay, I've fixed it so that you should no longer need to even refresh the page.

I'm going to do a few more tests to make sure that they reorder appropriately when things change around.

With a few hours to go in Week 4, Terra Australis Incognito has moved up to #24, with 11 votes. Even including defensive Hunker Down bonuses, that puts them ahead of six Settlements that currently occupy Sites.

Otium Explorator and The Bastard Sons of Daggermark are tied on the bubble, with just over eight votes (including Hunker Down) each. We've no way to tell from out here--without a view of everyone's Settlement pick-order--just what's going to happen, so we've got a bit of a surprise coming tomorrow morning.

Goblin Squad Member

Surprises abound!

Goblin Squad Member

Oh, dear. Sunnfire using the word "surprise"...a sense of dread tinged with humour permeates the room.

Goblin Squad Member

I have a feeling until things get totally stagnant, things will always be "surprising".

Just added 3 more members to 'avoid' surprises.

So I'm watching every day - nothing happens and then go offline for 2 days and feel bad that it took me so long to accept everyone.

Scarab Sages Goblin Squad Member

I have a hunch where the three may have come from, but I'm not going to say. Not because I'm cagey, but in case I'm wrong, and look daft.*

Good luck to everyone this week.

Others've been gone longer, though, Thod; Open Road now has four pending members. One of those four has been pending through both Weeks 2 and 3, and would've gotten them a Settlement either week.

That one wouldn't've been enough this week, but they added three more, which would put them in the same position as Terra Australis Incognito...if only they'd been accepted. They thus cost themselves two weeks of Hunker Down bonus, and the needed vote-counts are, of course, going to continue climbing.

It's quite likely that, including Hunker Down bonuses, a newcomer would need 10 votes next week to claim a Settlement for their own. Open Road can accomplish that, but only if there's no other pressure at the lower end of the Top 30, where I expect eight un-weighted votes will be the minimum by next week's draft.

Wonder if maybe that they are friends who signed up together and thought that was all that they needed and then have been ignoring things?

Or the settlement owner could be on a 2-3 week vacation. Four week vacation is probably pushing it as believable.

Goblin Squad Member

Yeah. We were late to the party because i was in AZ deailing with family issues for the first two weeks of land rush.

I think we have recovered sufficiently.

I've just been refreshing https://goblinworks.com/landrush/ all morning. First, I noticed the stakeholders shuffle a bit, and then noticed that the map updated to include towers.

Gah! Who shuffled? Must have information.....
