[Fire Mountain Games] Creature Cards, our first kickstarter is live!

Greetings,

Fire Mountain Games is taking the amazing art from both "Way of the Wicked" and our upcoming "Throne of Night" adventure paths and creating a deck of Creature Cards.

Not only are these cards (printed by Bicycle[tm]) high-quality props useful for any fantasy RPG, they are also a spectacular gamer geek conversation piece. Next time you play poker, play it with monsters.

Thanks for your support!

These look absolutely amazing! I'm on vacation right now, but the second I get home, consider this backed.

I'm in!

Is there any thought to having the top (? non face side) in different designs? That would be cool.

First, thanks to everyone who've supported this kickstarter. We're only one day in and we're already almost a quarter of the way to our target.

Now, regarding different designs...

Each time we add a different back, we have to do a different print run, so it costs quite a bit. That said, I would love to do this a stretch goal.

That would be good, I would like to get a couple of sets, having each set with different backs would be very cool.

You can now get uncut poster-sized sheets of the 56-card deck, signed or unsigned by the artist.

Check it out here.

Whoa, Throne of Night sounds fantastic!

Callous Jack,

Glad you think so. We'll be having more previews and sample art in coming months as we prep for our 2013 release schedule.

These would be great prizes for GMs and such at my local convention in early March. How quickly do you think these will go out?

Todd,

We are estimating at the latest delivering by March. However, if for any reason we can't make your date, email me and I will send you some certificates to stand in for the decks until they arrive.

Liberty's Edge

I'm looking forward to seeing them - and the extras *coughbackercoughcough*.
They don't say anything about the size, so I'm guessing we're looking at 'standard poker deck'-size cards?

Sylverthorne,

That's an oversight on our part. I'll correct it with the next update. They are standard poker sized cards so they are 2.4688" x 3.4688". They are manufactured by the USPCC (the same people who make Bicycle cards) and are designed to be played with, shuffled, etc.

And we have another art update for Creature Cards! The ethereal banshee has joined the deck. Check it out here.

Gettin' paid tomorrow, and then this is a done deal. One could use this in-game to simulate some tavern gambling...

Liberty's Edge

Thanks for the clarification, Gary.
That IS pretty standard - it's hard to find a bridge deck anymore. :/

... I don't suppose that size (slightly narrower cards, iirc), would be in the cards for one of the stretch rewards?

Sylverthorn,

I'm not against printing a bridge deck if there is demand for it. I'll have to say that so far support is overwhelming for poker sized cards, so that's definitely our priority.

Another art update ... the beautiful spirit of the woods, the dryad as rendered by the talented Michael Clarke. See her here.

It's not too late to get your own deck featuring this and other beautiful pieces of art.

TTT only another week left and I want my cards! 72% of the way there!

Todd,

Complete agreement. We can do this. Oh, and if you go here, you can check out the new card back design.

More great work from Mike!

Two months overdue, no word from Gary in over a month.

Liberty's Edge

An update would be really nice.

This is exactly the reason I will never do another kickstarter.

Grand Lodge

Gary's on vacation guys. He'll be back soon.

Is there an update on this one? Gary has gone quiet again with this project.

I am glad I didn't go for the AP KS, although I love and have the WotW the lack of comms is saddening and aggravating enough with just the few bucks on the cards compared to hundreds on the AP

I kickstarted Throne of Night and regret having done so. As much as I loved Way of the Wicked, I will not be kickstarting future products from this studio. :(

I purposely did not contribute to Throne of Night because of the lack of communication on the cards. Delays are expected on the Kickstarters, and many times are unavoidable. Lack of communication from the company is a choice though. I see him post other places on the boards about the rest of his products, and Cons, but not a peep about this project.
