...about the closest we've had is Janira doing her 'thing' and then the party going 'No, YOU are going to COOPERATE!' and then going after the full-strength minotaur...
That was as a player, though.
Didn't go as badly as one might think, though half the party was down at one point.

Nope, Thursty holds another title: ....stapler

Kyle Baird threw a pencil at me once.
(Well he broke it on the table in frustration and the piece flew at me after I wrecked him)
The scene: Winter War Champaign Urbana, Illinois. January 2014...]
So, the final morning I'm supposed to GM The Confirmation for Kyle Baird but my ride back to Iowa (Chris Mortika) says we have to leave a day early due to an incoming blizzard.
Kyle then breaks his pencil on the table and it comes flying at me. Fortunately a miss)
We are made fun of by those unafraid of the blizzard for chickening out.
A few days later I get a message from thunderspirit (Chris Rathunde) that the car containing himself, Bruno Breakbone's Player, Rene Duquesnoy and Jeff Chapman got stuck in a snowbank off the side of the highway in white out conditions the next day along with an apology for making fun of us.
(Luckily some good Samaritan stopped and helped them escape.)

I know of Kyle Baird mainly from his old posts and the stories of others. Both Chris Mortika and Jiggy are local to me and played at his table. I am betting that Leg o’ Lamb and Andy Christian might have too.
Ooh! Ooh! We could do a Six Degrees of Separation game, but I think it would turn in PFS to a Two Degreees of Separation because Tonya goes EVERYWHERE. (And if you include forum posts, there are a couple of lynchpins like TOZ and BNW whom everyone who’s ever posted more than a couple posts has interacted with. Yeah, forum posts might make it too easy to connect everyone, so let’s go with face-to-face meetings.)
Anyway, whatever the circumstances Mr. Baird, I hope you stick around. Although no binding circle would ever hold you, the community is enriched by your presence.
Yours,
Hmm

Given only these two options for your character, which would you choose?
Permanent Death or Sold into Slavery*
Decide now!
** spoiler omitted **
I know this is an old question, but it's too good for me to pass up!
Personally, slavery, no matter what the level. Call me a sap, but I'm way too attached to my characters to kill them off if I can help it. XD

Sold into Slavery, to answer that question.
Because there's ALWAYS at least a small chance of a Boon that 'gives you your stuff back' or a scenario where something can happen to make that so versus Dead. Period.
The only problem with such a choice is that it would *have* to happen at a *very low level* or it would be EXCEPTIONALLY disruptive to play to have a party show up to say, Seeker-arc stuff clad in a loincloth and a spear.

I don't know, if I showed up "clad in a loincloth and a spear" I would be a bit overdressed... and have no idea what to do with the spear!

Since I have answered all of your questions, now you must answer mine! I will start with a simple question that most of you puny humans should be capable of answering.
What are your top Pathfinder Society moments? List scenario, convention (if applicable), GM (if you remember), and why the moment was memorable. There is no requirement for the memory to be a pleasurable one. (I do love the taste of PC tears!)
Use spoilers when necessary or else Doug Miles will show up at your doorstep!
A little late to the party but it seems as though there weren't too many questions. So here is the first of Kyle Baird questions:
3-00 Blood Under Absalom
Winterfest 2012 - Pullman Washington
GM: Andrew Porter
First Multitable and first table with people who I had never met or played Pathfinder with in my short time. Meeting Kyle Elliot, Walter Sheppard, and the Pullman crew for the first time.
4-26 The Waking Rune
PaizoCon 2013
GM: Nani Pratt
Very first PaizoCon for me. Saturday morning, random game, there was a call for a player for a 7-11. Grabbed the Kyra pregen played the game (Characters were at my hotel room, offsite), barely survived the table. and had a good time with the game. Still hate Cloudkill to this day!! Ironically, I had bought Inner Sea Magic the day before on a whim. Nani wrote "Arrgh, Cloudkill" on my chronicle.

Second Question:
Sold Into Slavery: I'd like to give my characters a chance to evolve from situations like being Sold Into Slavery (my Samurai).

How many kill tallies does/did he have of last count?I mean, I know of a couple of GMs through no fault of their own are TPK *machines*.
That thread was one of the things that eventually led me to signing up and joining PFS...

Big Fella goes about 6'4 280. Best salesmen in the office!
Oh yeah he is a big guy goes about 6'7 385.
He makes brooms somewhere in Georiga!
Gyre Glenross |
LTTP
2) Death or Slavery. (No spoilers!)
Pretty much all of my characters would chose death over slavery.
1) Favorite PFS moment.
The first time I played Gyre Glenross. Core Cleric of Cayden Cailean (I don't even remember which module it was, offhand).
I was playing Kyra, the pre-gen cleric, except that I was calling the pregen Gyre, and he was male, which the judge was fine with (since I was going to rebuild & continue to play the character). It was one of my first games of Pathfinder.
Somehow the Starstone comes up, and I hear the story of how Cayden Cailean becomes Divine. "That's it!" I exclaim. "I'm a cleric of Cayden. My day job is Quality Control Inspector at a Brewery. When I'm 9th or 10th level I'm going to get drunk one night, and go embrace the Starstone, just like my patron!"
After a moment of stunned silence, the judge says, "you know this a game mechanic, right? Your character will die."
I answered, "Yep! I'm going to wake up in Heaven, and Cayden is going to ask me, Son, why'd you go and do something foolhardy like that?"
"Like what?"
"You embraced the Starstone, Gyre."
"Really? I was drunk, I don't remember!"
Peals of raccous laughter!

I once saw him eat a whole chicken.
Goes about 7'8", 530.

Scenario: 3-18 Godsmarket Gamble
Venue: Enchanted Grounds, Highlands Ranch, Co.
GM: Emily Something or other
My character, half orc alchemist with profession: BBQ chef tries to comfort a distressed halfling.
Me: Look, this is tramatic, but food will comfort you. Here, have a coupon for free BBQ at MARVs!
Halfling: But I'm a vegatarian.
Me: Is that a disease?
Scenario 5-09 The Traitors Lodge
Venue: Momocon 2016, Atlanta Georgia
GM: Not a regular
GM: That's not exactly good.
Me: No, it's not. I then erase the "good" on my Neutral Good alignment on my sheet. (This was the same character, a 16 year old female, who spent an entire scenario refering to Erastil as "the old horney god".)
Vutava |
Question one would have to be the time I was playing as Sajan and leapt into the air and successfully grappled a flying spellcaster.
Question two would be slavery, although losing her journals would crush Cathran. Seriously, I don't know how long it would be before she could recover from that, if ever.

I met Kyle when he did his very best to kill my brand new -2 at PaizoCon 2010 in Master of the Fallen Fortress. I accept the blame of his failure at this for all his future writing efforts at TPK-inducing scenarios. Still have two scenarios left to retirement on that character... perhaps I shouldn't wish his return after all.
