Since I have answered all of your questions, now you must answer mine! I will start with a simple question that most of you puny humans should be capable of answering.

What are your top Pathfinder Society moments? List scenario, convention (if applicable), GM (if you remember), and why the moment was memorable. There is no requirement for the memory to be a pleasurable one. (I do love the taste of PC tears!)

Sovereign Court 5/5

Excellent question! Here are two of my most memorable moments oh Mighty Overlord:

#29: The Devil We Know Part I - Shipardyard Rats
Gen Con 2009
GM: Szarkel

Spoiler:
Our party is below deck beating on some half-orc goons when we the voice of a woman yell for her goons to come above deck. Thinking fast, the party's half-orc disguises himself as one of her goons and hurries up to talk to her. She asks a couple of simple questions, none of which he can answer until he says, "uh... Surprise?!" and flings a hand axe at her.

This was memorable because it was my first second time playing PFS and first time at a convention (Gen Con of all things). The hilarity lies in the great roleplaying of a low charisma half-orc fighter. It was a great idea on paper, but its failure made it memorable.

#2-16: The Flesh Collector
Who's Yer Con 2011
GM: Todd Morgan

Spoiler:
We participated in a midnight madness and the first night we essentially completed the scenario, except that we didn't completely get rid of the ghost. We decided to play again the following night and head back to the monstary to take her out for good. Great idea, right? No. Apparently she's buddy buddy with a freaking purple worm. I spent several rounds in the belly of that thing with no way out. I had never felt so hopeless as a PC and to be clear, I greatly enjoyed this experience.

I think I found this experience memorable primarily because of the table composition and an EPIC GMing performance. Combining those with a great encounter combination certainly helped.

Good memories
Silent Tide
GM: Mark Moreland

Spoiler:
I really enjoyed fiddling around with the puzzle boxes for Grandmaster Torch -- everyone was enthusiastically shouting out suggestions and having a ball. I wish there were more grab-bags of puzzles like that.

Bad memories
Sniper in the Deep
GM: Imper1um

Spoiler:
We entered the flooded ship and got gang-banged by underwater spectres. Negative levels were flying fast and furious before we had a chance to act. Spellcasters were losing caster levels, people were failing Swim checks in order to move, the one melee fighter had to switch to a crummy backup piercing weapon, we had no cleric to channel energy, etc. It would certainly have been a TPK if not for GM pity and a misunderstanding of the rules. I hated, hated, hated that encounter, and it's pretty much turned me off of mid- to high-level PFS play completely.

Note: The GM did a fine job, I just really hated that encounter.

#35: Voice in the Void
Gen Con 2010
GM: Alexander MacLeod

Spoiler:
Our party's level makeup, combined with six players made for us playing #35 "up" a tier to level 6-7. I say up a tier because the majority of the party was 4 or 5, I was the only 6, and there was a 3 in the group which put us at roughly an APL of 4.5. Our size though gave us a +1 APL which made us eligible to play up, which the 4's and 5's insisted on insisted on, much to the dismay of the level 3.

We were taught our lesson in the first room though where the huge skeletal T-Rex rose to life and during the surprise round bit our party's barbarian down to 3 hit points on an average non-crit damage roll. The party was in near panic when in round 2; however, I rolled a 20+ initiative and used my arcane bonded item to cast command undead, which regardless of size or hit dice automatically controlled the huge skeleton. Crisis averted.

#1: The Slient Tide
Gen Con 2008
GM: John Weber

Spoiler:
I wish I could point to a specific instance that made this a memorable experience, but it was something I did on a lark at my first-ever Gen Con on a Friday afternoon. Who would have thought that that one game would have turned me on so much to the game I would have applied to be a VC? The players were fantastic and fun, including my favorite - Guntermann, the bell-making barbarian who wielded a huge bell as a heavy flail, and John Weber was a knowledgeable and creative GM that gave a lot of flavor to Grandmaster Torch. I never would have been involved with PFS if that first game weren't as spectacular as it was.

Dark Archive 1/5

Heresy of Man: Part I
GM: Kyle Baird
Character: Vincent, now known as Vincent the Altar Slayer

Spoiler:
After having the lights turned out by the Dark Stalker, Vincent proceeded to hack away at its onyx altar (knowing that it was incapable of moving) to see if he could get the enemy to come to him. Once the enemy had approached, Vincent's confirmed crit was wiped by his 50% miss chance, and he fell. The Dark Stalker ended up being grappled by two summoned vipers who took him down. But, in his final moments, and with Vincent feet away from him, he exploded in a ball of fire. Unconscious Vincent made his reflex save (Nat-20) to save from going too far negative, and survived.

Kyle, if you want to reiterate the 'script' for this one, I wouldn't mind hearing it again.

I climb up the wall and balance on top of it to attack the 2 up there while the 3rd continues to fly about attacking me. I kill the 2 up on the wall and with the 3rd on the ground a do a Running/Jumping Charge at it and roll a 1! DOH! I still ended up killing it, killing all 3 harpies on my own!

All the players PCs I ever killed while GMing (10, 7 being PreGens), not because I was glad to kill them because I have been lucky and all of them have taken it well.

#2-01: Before the Dawn—Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise
GenCon 2010

Spoiler:

I was having a poor run of dice rolls during one of the times I ran it, except for one character and one Eidolon. A majority of NPCs had scimitars and against those two I consistently rolled 18, 19 or 20 so much that they were saying I should just do critical damage and forget the d20 roll. (I roll out in the open as well). Against everyone else I was lucky to roll above a 7.

Also, what's so bad about being under Doug's Female Bard's dress? If she's a bard, I'm sure she's got a decent charisma...So I don't think Azerial would be averse to seeing what that equates to under the hood.

My bro was sweating bullets, so I went along to track initiative and be the (3.5) rules monkey. Logue's PC almost got killed on the very first encounter. And the reactions from Erik, Jason and Josh to a couple of the encounters was everything a GM/designer could hope for.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32

Mists of Mwangi:
In Mists of Mwangi (at BASHcon 2009 in Toledo), the big ape snatched my poor little halfling wizard up in one fist and carried her around for much of the fight. She so should have died, but the sole remaining player (who was playing a pre-gen) realized that I actually had some time-invested in the character and returned to aid me. Plus I think Doug Doug took it easy on me.

The Rebel's Ransom:
In The Rebel's Ransom (at DragonCon 2010), the rest of my party was killed by an insanely effective fire oracle. My barbarian, because she had a rank in linguistics (and was the last Pathfinder standing), was spared to help the oracle navigate the tomb/dungeon. She rebelled one final time, trying to drown the oracle, but failed. In the end, she was beaten senseless, stripped of all her gear, and sold into slavery. After a few adventures, she was able to recoup her losses. I still love playing this character, and man, does she hate Qadirans/Osirions/etc., pretty much every race with a desert homeland. Thanks Kyle.

Hydra's Fang Incident:
In running this adventure for a bunch of new-ish players, one who was playing PFS for the first time, I orchestrated a TPK. I felt pretty bad, but now I can look back on it fondly. Christopher Rowe frequently reminds me (like every time he opens his folder full of characters) that he only got to Play Tolliver Wilde, his half-orc fighter, once. Sorry Christopher.

PFS#1-19 Darkest Vengeance
Home Game
GM Roger Kernsmith

Fun Moment as a Player:
Playing my snotty, cosmopolitan bard Dolce Elizabeth Antoinette. This was a great scenario for a bard. She charmed one of the thugs in the beginning and enjoyed using him as her minion. When the party encountered the dark creepers in the library the GM described them in such pain from the light that out-of-character I felt pity for them. Despite knowing exactly what they were as a player, I wanted to help them...after charming them of course. With a 7 strength my bard carries almost no gear, but she does wear a new courtier's outfit every scenario, bought in the region she's adventuring in. Having nothing else with which to protect the creeper's eyes from the light, she lifted her dress over its head. It was a moment of silliness for sure, what woman in her right mind would ever do such a thing? Anyway, she shuffled herself and her "bustle bandit" out to the lightless foyer as the rest of the party entered the workroom and fooled with the sunrod device (whilst ignoring the other creeper). About the time Dolce decided to light a candle so she could see her new friend better, the party doused the malfunctioning device. The GM ruled that any amount of light was painful for the creeper and lighting the candle broke the charm person spell. The creepers' vicious nature reveal itself and Dolce nearly died in the ensuing fight. The encounter made me think about dungeon ecology and the fact that dark creepers live their whole lives in the same set of rags. Pretty gross...

PFS2-02 Rescue at Azlant Ridge
Dragon*Con
GM Me

Fun Moment as GM:
A group of experienced players from Miami open the Azlanti vault and identify the iron golems from a distance. They meta-game that the golems are going to attack them as soon as they enter the room, so one of the players has a bright idea. He had the foresight to buy a golembane scarab and there was a crate of 1,000 crossbow bolts in the wagons they arrived in. From the stairway the player pre-emptively (and with great smugness) demolishes each golem with his crossbow. The players high-five each other and I can't help but laugh to myself about how #&%*ed they really are now. Serves them right for meta-gaming...

The scenario continues predictably and the players realize their error when the Angazhani Champion enters the compound. Determined to make a fight of it, they have a plan to fall back into the underground complex and force it to squeeze, but it gets between them first and one PC is cut off. Remarkably they are getting past its DR and scoring some hits, but the Champion tears into their barbarian taking her from full health to dying in a single round. Things look grim now. The next round they know another PC is going down. A 4th level gnome bard is playing up with the group and on his turn he says he's casting hideous laughter on the Champion. The other players call him a fool, insist he should do something else more useful, but he stands his ground. He makes his caster level check to get through the Spell Resistance, and I roll a nat 1 on the Will Save. The gnome's player falls out of his chair and the whole table erupts in a howl of victory. It wasn't over, but it was the turning point in the fight.

Although the players were very devisive and difficult to GM, when it counted they came together and used teamwork (and a lot of luck) to overcome what should have been a TPK with unrecoverable deaths.

I will add that the Angazhani Champion stat block in the scenario is incorrectly built and woefully outmatched by the Azlanti golem. That's what really saved the PCs in this scenario. On the way home from Dragon*Con Kyle worked out the correct stat block and it has made the game much more fun since.

Overall an excellent scenario run by a great GM.

Unfolding Events:
During the court scene, one of the players chased down the retired Pathfinder trying to escape through the sewers and grappled him. My character at first tried to assist in the grapple, then it was recommended that I administer some of the wolvesbane we had acquired. After force feeding him the wolvesbane, he made his save and was cured. A very fun game.

For various reasons, my roleplaying in PFOS has been flat, so I'm going to blame myself for not having more memorable experiences (instead of relying on others to make my experience). Voices in the Void:
There were a lot of close calls, but two awesome bits--

First, the player of the druid had an extended conversation with the cerebral fungus. It was suitably insane, though I did have it allude to some foreshadowing in a bizarrely alien way, but somehow for the rest of the scenario, the druid kept saying "You guys, you should have listened to the fungus. This is just what it was trying to say!"

Second, the Cheliax faction PC wants to be able to increase his own power, so he wanted to take a look at those contracts from his mission that he isn't supposed to open upon pain of death, the ones from Thrune before their ascension. I had them magically set up with a unique spell signature seal such that opening them would remove the seal and expose the fact that they had been opened unless it could be reproduced. The character, barely 2nd level, agreed to pay 660 gold for an Analyze Dweomer and then more money for the Arcanamirum professor in question to reproduce the seal after he looked at the contracts. To award that dedication (He gave up almost half his net worth in total with all said and done), I gave him some juicy descriptions that indicted Thrune for setting up some of their opponents in the civil war as puppets to make themselves look good, among other things. But man, that's dedication.

I give the party the intro speech which at this point in the CON I prefer to ad lib and add more "charm" to it. I STRESS two things. 1. Take a disguise 2. Don't tell anyone your Pathfinders.

So the party decides to walk into the city with super weak stories / disguises and walk straight into Rulkep Tonics. They go in front of the Aspis Consortium agents tell the owner they are pathfinders and ask for supplies to support the dig site.

At that point the encounter starts [GM grabs remaining Mountain Dew supply and starts chucking for instant voice repair] One of the thugs opens a windows and screams PATHFINDERS are in the city!! [I scream this at the top of my voice and surrounding tables look at me like I have lost it.]

After the encounter the party moves to elsewhere in the city and I have to set off the special ambush encounter and drive them out of the city. The saving grace is that the witch fight at the end took darn near 90 minutes to finish so the slot was at least 3 hours.

Scenario : None
GM: None
When: GENCON 2010 Early Sunday morning about 20-30 minutes before Slot 10.

Josh Frost for some reason is all chipper and happy like he had slept for 40 peaceful hours that night walks into the game room and Yells at us people who foolishly decided to GM slot 10, "Good, Morning Zombies" and the room takes making their best zombie impressions and we all get a small laugh before the last games start.

Scenario 2-1 The Bloodcove Disguise
The Source: Weekly Society extravaganza
DM: Deanoth

Yar!:
We're all a bunch of 1st-level squirts, and decide that the best way to disguise ourselves is by going in as merchants. What do pirates like? Booze! What's there a shortage of? Food! So: enter the Chickens & Rum trading company -- Free hen with every barrel! In the end we were too successful for our own good: an Osirion NPC had us investigated and blew our cover.

We had so much fun during the middle of the mod that time-limits were looming for the witch encounter. She simply had her stealthy minion or familiar or whatever (I forget) steal the bauble, and that was that.

Helping run the Gen Con special/interactive: Watching all the players, GMs, volunteers in one room was a sight to behold.

Having Tim Hitchock as ring master for the event was just the the Creme in that night's Brulee.

Top that off with getting to call out Paizo's big ENnie wins as they started to rack them up at the awards ceremony to a room full of Paizo rabid faithful, twas a good night indeed.

Special Mention: Trying to go drink for drink with Tim Hitchcock and Jason Bulmahn to celebrate Paizo's big wins will cause CON and WIS damage.

After killing the thugs in our contacts house, TK makes it clear to us that you don't really mess with other people's minions. I go about making a nice fruit basket for Besel Ardoc, complete with Hallmark card. 'Sorry we killed you minions'

Given only these two options for your character, which would you choose?

Permanent Death or Sold into Slavery*

Decide now!

Spoiler:

Permanent Death = Character reported as dead. Unable to play it again in PFS.
Sold into Slavery = Character loses all equipment, is rescued by the Society and given 150 gp in starting cash.

It might depend on the character's class, and it would definitely depend on the character's level. But probably "sold into slavery".

I think if I lost my 1-away-from-12 cleric to slavery, I'd be wishing for death in terms of PFS play. And man, those slavers would have an absolute goldmine of loot!

Wealth is overrated.

(But then that opinion might be based on my class choices)
