Nostrus' Crypt of the Everflame Discussion

Play-by-Post Discussion

This is the thread for all OOC discussion and preliminary dice rolls.

I'm interested, maybe something from the APG. Maybe an elven oracle? A crazy dwarf mad bomber alchemist? A delusional halfling cavalier who thinks he the reincarnation of some great human hero?

Map of Kassen: here

Legend
1. Seven Silvers - tavern run by Trelvar Silvers, assisted by his daughter Asina, and Jimes "Short Change" Iggins.
2. Greathall - used for various celebrations, including weddings.
3. Woodcutter's Guildhall - run by Colbin Vetnar.
4. Temple of Erastil - the only stone building in town, tended to by Father Prasst. While dedicated to Erastil, has shrines for Gozreh, Gorum, Shelyn and Torag.
5. Town Watch Headquarters - led by Guard Captain Wisslo.
6. Renet's Steel - a blacksmith operated by Renet.
7. Arnama's Home - home of Arnama Lastrid, a local ranger and advisor to Mayor Uptal.
8. Sir Dramott's Home - home of Sir Dramott, a knight from Lastwall who watches over the town.
9. Braggar's Shop - a blacksmith operated by Braggar Ironhame, the only source of masterwork items in Kassen.
10. Vargidan Estate - home to the eccentric Vargidan family, and has a bit of a spooky reputation.
11. Holgast's Tower - home to the resident wizard, Holgast.
12. Mayor Uptal's Home - a modest building that is home to Mayor Uptal.
13. Ilimara's Home - home to the mysterious Qadiri, Ilimara Oniri.

All of this would be common knowledge to someone who had grown up in Kassen. For further information on NPCs within Kassen, please ask me and I'll try and furnish you with appropriate details. Use this knowledge to make a believable background for your characters.

All three ideas sound quite good, although I'm particularly amused by the last two.

Edit: in fact, given the close proximity of Lastwall, the halfling cavalier has even more weight and could be a source of ire for Sir Dramott, the local knight.

Grand Lodge

How about a sorcerer? A failed student of Holgast.

Sounds fine to me, they could be using the event to redeem themselves in his eyes.

Male Half-Orc Cleric of Gorum, 2nd

I posted on the connection thread with the basics of my character concept.

What are Arnama's feeling towards outsiders and Orcs?

Generally speaking, outsiders are treated with suspicion. Orcs especially so.

Max HP: 142; Current HP: 45; AC: 17 (T 16, FF 17); CMD: 30; F/R/W: +14/+12/+23|
Buffs:
freedom of movement, resist energy 30, greater heroism, true seeing, improved invisibility
Dire Wolves:
HP: 47/47/47/47; AC: 15/9/14; F/R/W: +9/+5/+2

Greetings. I see that no one so far has suggested a cleric, so let me present Therena, favoured of Shelyn. Therena is a plain-faced woman who, while her brethren turn to music, dance, and art, finds beauty in the perfectly prepared meal. Food is her passion, and indeed, she's a little on the plump side. She had to leave home to pursue her studies to be a cleric, and wanted to get out of Kessen to study at a culinary institution.

Therena is quite pleasant and easy-going, but above all things, never act shocked or surprised that a woman with her looks could be cut out as a priestess of Shelyn. She is a master chef and she knows what to do with the body.

(Actually, she'd just be more likely to spit in it)

Waiting on starting gold to determine equipment, etc. so...
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 2) = 12

Male Half-Orc Druid / 1st

This is Krek. Here's the alias of my character-to-be for this campaign. Tell me what you think!

Male Varisan Human Cleric (Varisian Pilgrim) of Desna 5 | HP 36/36 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | Fort+6 Ref +5 Will +9 (+10) | Initiative +3 | Perception +4 | Channel Energy 2/7 | Bit of Luck 7/7 | Agile Feet 7/7

Not making any assumptions of being in the game, just getting the starting gold bit out of the way so that I can finish up the character and be ready to go if picked.

Starting Gold:4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 1) = 13x10 = 130

Re-post of Character Info:

Spoiler:

Dahrehn Zeldana

Human Alchemist

Chaotic Good (not that he's really all that chaotic, just perhaps a bit touched in the head from all of his alchemical experimentation.)

Personality: A friendly, but somewhat irresponsible man. Upon meeting someone for the first time is almost trusting to a fault, but if that trust is broken can hold quite a grudge.

Description: A tall, gangley man with unkempt brown hair and a bit of crazed look in his eye. Dressed in clean but disheveled clothing.

Background: No one is really sure when Dahrehn came into Kassen, or for that matter even why. He just showed up one day. The townsfolk think of "Crazy Dahrehn" as a odd creature, but harmless. In fact he has been helpful on occassion by brewing the occasionaly healing potion for the townsfolk if asked.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Posted in the other thread. The group seems heavy on magic and a bit light on combat ability so I'd be inclined to play a fighter or flashy combat bard if I'm in.

Human Inquisitor 7

Gold roll

Dahrhen is ready if chosen. Character stats/info are in the profile.

Hey, Nostrus, you can withdraw me from contention. I like the delusional halfling concept, but when rolling it up, I can't get passed the fact that I never liked playing the little buggers. I'm also hoping to get in a game with a buddy of mine, and don't want to add too many games to my current two.

thanks

Rolling Gold for Silvus:

Hello Nostrus...this seems to be a plague going on here at the moment, but I too must withdraw from contention for this game. Just too many games at the moment. Thank you for any consideration you gave Therena.
