Rise of the Runelords: "Longshank Gank" Campaign

Play-by-Post

101 to 140 of 140 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

I'll be posting an initiate order and a map as soon as I make one, coming tonight.

Spoiler:
After finishing a good portion of the salted meat and taking a nap Lemi begins to make camp. He listens as and heres the sounds of night life begining to stir.

A tree fell on my house/car during the storms last week, so I have been hopefully and understandably late due to this. I will resume posting as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear it! Take as much time as you need!

Lemi your also close enough to get involved in this fight after a round.

Use the Battle Map to determine where you wish to move and see where the enemy is in relation to your characters. Dark Green are trees, and heavy overgrowth, light green is grassy.

Mounts will share your initiative.

Vera begins to cast a spell, tracing her bony finger down Crash's skull. Her incantations start low, and quiet, until they grow to a loud roar. And then she is screaming, on the back of her vicious creature. Her magic infuses it's muscles and bones, and it visibly toughens up. Crash's lips curl into a visage of pure menace, and his tail whips about violently. Vera continues screaming the magic words, filling her mount with every ounce of rage that she can muster.

Kicking it, she spurs it into a more tactically advantageous position.

Move to M13. She casts incite rage; a spell compendium spell. I assumed it was alright. If not, it's the last time she'll use it. Basically justs gives her mount the effects of 'raging' as per the barbarian, as long as she concentrates.

Ya, combat! Since Lemi relaxing after a bite to eat...Spot 1d20=18; Listen 1d20=5. If notices anything he'll roll for combat.

Vera: That spell is fine.

I'll move you as soon as your init comes around in case you want to change your move action based on nurk, zork, or spider1.

LEMI: You will definitely hear something odd [Vera's spellcast was noticeable.] But you also notice a spider lurking in the tree line, a big one too. At least 10' long.

Initiative 1d20+3=12

Lemi's ears perk at the sound of the magical incantation. "What in the Nine", The idead of another goblinoid, hopefully Hobgoblin, using magic fills his body with excitement.

His eyes turn and widen at the sight of a rather large spider lurking nearby.

Website is tanked, I think it's unrelated, but if it stays down longer than a few hours I'll find an alternate place to get the map back up. Calling my buddy over at the server place now.

I'll toss it up on a 2nd website I have access too url is Battle Map 1

Male Goblin Fighter 1

"ATTACK!" Nurk cries, spurring Grindle forward. He pulls out his sling and whirling it around his head, lets a stone fly at the spider across the clearing.

Nurk and Grindle move to J-14, ranged attack vs. Spider 2.

Attack (1d20+2=18); Damage (1d3=3)

Don't forget that Nurk adds his strength bonus to the sling attack. It should be 5 damage.

Nurks stone bloodies the spider, a piercing screech issues forth from the hulking spider but it still stands.

One of the spiders scurries forth to the nearest meal.

Battle Map 1.2

Zork is up next.

Huh. I never knew that, but the SRD confirms it. Thanks!

Zork moves <Q13> to get a better shot at the spider (1).

"Fly true, my beauty." Zork whispers to the arrow.

Atk; Dmg (1d20+6=18, 1d4=4)

Still moving to M13.

Your arrow strikes true Zork, the spider still stands but is wounded.

Spider3 Bites Wormfoot quickly on arm and skitters out of reach, almost toying with the prone Goblin.

Wormfoot attempts to counter attack and misses, trying to stand he tumbles back to the ground cursing.

Lemi is up.

Don't have access to the .psd file right now, but I'll move your avatars later.

Move to P4, and loose a bolt at Spider1. Attack [urk=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1689429/ ]1d20+3=21[/url]; Damage 1d8=6

Spider 1 chitters as it is perforated multiple times, it seems to be stopped in it's track pinned down and impaled.

Spider 2 advances.

The Goblins see a Hobgoblin also aiding them now, his attack pinning down spider 1 with a well placed bolt.

Vera's magical intonation still reverbates throughout the air, her mount taking on a feral snarl.

Brinkt is up.

New map uploaded: Battle Map V1.3

Female Goblin Sorceress 1

Brinkt urges Nightsong forwards, carefully waving one hand and yelling something utterly incomprehensible at the nearest spider, a tone of savage excitement in her voice. After a brief moment a bolt of force firesfrom her hand and at the arachnid fighting Nurk.

Move around Q15, magic missile fired at spider 2. Magic Missile Damage (1d4+1=3)

Zork fires off another arrow at his eight-legged opponent.

Atk; Dmg (1d20+6=15, 1d4=1)

He then moves back a step. <To Q14>

[[ Updated Map v1.3 ]]

Brinkt's magic unerring strikes the spider, rocking it back from Nurk. It stands on eight now very wobbly legs, it's eight eyes darting every which way. Still it stands.

Queuing Zorks move, but actions noted.

Vera spurs her mount into a ferocious charge, angling Crash's teeth towards the hideous beast. Catching the creature in it's jaws, the enraged goblin dog shakes it back and forth.

Charge to J9. Attack 18, Damage 10 Trip attempt:15

10 is enough to rip him from the prone form of Wormfoot and send him into a crumple to bleed to death.

Vera's charge is a lesson in eloquent brutality, a blur of movement and the enemy is down and bleeding out. Worm foot still stirs but looks like he is in bad shape.

Lemi is up and then the last spider.

Oh, I intended to charge 'Spider 2'. I charged to J9, not J19. I didn't think I could charge through the forest, difficult terrain and all. If 'Spider 2' is toast, I would willingly head to 'Spider 3'.

Lemi? DM? Anyone else?

sorry for taking so long

The hobgoblin looks on as the goblin attack another spider. "Hmm, I wonder if they are from Thisletop?"

Lemi goes on the defensive

Looking for players here.

I went through some life altering events, the broken house was just the tip. A death in the family, a divorce, so many things. I wanted to take the time to apologize for not giving you a "I can't run this right now post", or an explaination sooner.

I'm very sorry, I had something special in store, that I will reveal now as it's ruined, bummer. I had 2 games going at once, your game and another that we're running in parellel. Evetually your actions would cross over and had planned on merging the 2 games. good vrs evil.

Man, that would have been fun to run 2 groups against each other in 1 big tactical game. I will probably revisit this concept and when I do reinvite you back if you'll return.

For now I'm going to take it easy and play in a pbp I signed up for and hope to be back on my feet in a little while. Things are coming back to normal, or at least what I consider normal.

I feel really bad I didn't have the sense to send a message earlier about my inability to continue. I really wasn't thinking about games at the time.

Hope you can all understand.

Thanks,
Christy.

Hang in there, Christy.
