Onward To Adventure!

February has the tendency to sneak up on you when you least expect it, and fly right by! This first month-and-a-bit of 2017 has been chock full of exciting projects and new announcements, including our latest Humble Bundle initiative in partnership with Dynamite and our lineup of Starfinder products launching at Gen Con 2017. Since it's been a minute (or two... possibly three) since we've given folks an update on our product schedule, let's take a look at what the next few months have in store.

The next Pathfinder Adventure Path kicks off in just a few weeks with the first two volumes of the Ironfang Invasion—Pathfinder Adventure Path #115: Trail of the Hunted and Pathfinder Adventure Path #116: Fangs of War. The Ironfang Invasion Adventure Path calls back to classic adventures, focusing on exploring the unknown and confronting the fantastic, all to stop a monstrous enemy from wiping out the good people of Nirmathas and Molthune. The PCs will delve into dungeons, siege well-guarded keeps, explore the wilderness, and battle some of the most iconic creatures from the 40-year history of fantasy RPGs.

Speaking of "iconic creatures", how many of you are excited for even more monsters? This April, pick up Bestiary 6! This sixth monstrous-tome for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game includes over 200 monsters like archdevils, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, play-character-suitable races, and even the creepy and horrific Krampus himself. While previews for Bestiary 6 are still a few weeks away, I snuck some artwork out for you to feast your eyes upon...

But there are more options for your Pathfinder campaign rolling through! For me, summer means backpacking and in the months leading up to it, geeking out over the latest gear. What better than to prep your next character or tailor your next campaign with with the Adventurer's Guide releasing this May? And, if you're trying to cut gear weight like me, we just announced that both the GameMastery Guide and Advanced Player's Guide will be available in the travel-friendly Pocket Edition format.

To recap, here's the lineup of Pathfinder products releasing March:

If you're heading to Gen Con later this summer, you can expect a full compliment of Pathfinder and Starfinder excitement! To get more details about the Starfinder products in this list, you'll want to read James L. Sutter's blog about their announcement. And of course, since this is months in the future, titles are subject to possibly shifting (or being added) to this list.

As we begin the slow-roll into a jam-packed convention season, more announcements are sure to come! Keep your eyes out, and until next time!

Ooh, is that Belial, or Beelzebub (does he still have his slug form in PF)?

I think I might have to make a trip back up to the room after the Vendor Hall opens up at Gencon. We're planning on loading up with Starfinder stuff.

That is indeed Belial's favored form, but Baalzebul in Pathfinder has the appearance of (or is covered by) a swarm of flies due to rebelling agains Asmodeus over a matter of pride and greed.

I'm pretty sure the second art is one of the Mothman, which is also pretty exciting as far I'm concerned.

Oh cool!

The mothman was in #2; thats the moth demon from the Worldwound setting book.

Looking forward to bestiary 6.

Mothmen are already in bestiary 2, so that sounds unlikely (and that's a demon anyway, and Mothman isn't very demon-y).

Three of them are reused art, making it easier. ^_^

The moth thing is the ooliodroo (sp?) demon, from The Worldwound. The bird is the mockingfey, from... I want to say Inner Sea Bestiary, but maybe Isles of the Shackles. The protean is from either Giantslayer or Hell's Rebels.

The real story is that none of them are monsters I wrote. Soon, though... soon. ^_^

Proteans and other denizens of the maelstrom are supposed to be the most varied creatures the multiverse has to offer. So why are there only 4 of them out of the entire game?

Actually, I think it's Mephistopheles. Belial's favored weapon is a Ranseur while Mephistopheles's favored weapon is a trident (seen in the picture above).

It's Belial; you can tell by the angel-and-devil split. For contrast, check out the cover of Book 6 of Hell's Rebels for a clear look at Mephistopheles.

(shrugs) Then I guess the artist got the weapon wrong.

Good news, we are getting new illustrations for the Archdevils! And that an really awesome illustration of Belial. I can't wait to see if Geryon and Beelzebub are also getting new illustrations.

To be frank, I was really anxious to known if the Four Horsemen were getting new illustrations. As in Bestiary 4 that wasn't the case (the demon lords and empyreal lords didn't get new pictures), I wasn't really expecting that the Archdevils would get this especial privilege. =O

There're actually eight of them, and that one is a reprint from one of these already existing proteans. But it's good to see it in a hard cover Bestiary!

Yeah, but after several years, you would think the maelstrom would have more inhabitants stated then 8 proteans and the chaos beast.

Which means it only has three more species than Utopia, since it gets resolute creatures.

New proteans were featured in Hell's Rebels/Hell's Vengeance bestiary entries, including this one pictured. Similarly, the Mockingfey (human-headed parrot) is from Inner Sea Bestiary, and being retro-packed in a full Bestiary.

Mephistopheles is clearly depicted on Hell's Vengeance #6 cover, and very differently than this archdevil.

Is that protean from AP volume 101?

Never mind it's from volume 99.

Eight is a lucky number for Chaos ;-)

And they are so adaptable that 8 are more than enough to face any situation that arises

Just realized that 8 is a twisted Ouroboros / symbol of infinity

Even more fitting for proteans :-)
