Thank you for confirming my expectations for the release date, Eric.
Now i can order a case from my local dealer for january.
The Elf Barbarian looks great and is the last missing uncommon mini.
The bed is cool too, nice color scheme.
I have enough owlbears but it looks cool and seems to be a size between large and huge. It also is the last Large mini to be revealed from the set.
Now only 3 medium rares and 3 dungeon dressing pieces are to be revealed.
My money is on a table, a bench and a chair/beer keg.
After that you could probably reveal King Irovetti and Feiya and after that the Bar mini. ;-)
Thx for a great preview and have a nice weekend.

I Echo your cry of joy! Plus it's an owl bear I really like the look of. I'm surprisingly ok with the delay to January, despite my impatience with all things plastic I think the delay will be good for me financially, or maybe not if I think about it. Perhaps now I can extend to two cases.

Some nice pieces there, although the elven curve blade looks a bit short for a two-handed weapon. (I guess that the original art - meant for a book page - was the limiting factor there.)
Is there a mini anywhere in the sets of a male elf warrior-type with an elven curve blade? Preferably with more armour than the ... um ... lightly armoured female here?

Let's start off this week's Friday Publisher Preview with the bad news. The Rusty Dragon Inn, the next set in the Pathfinder Battles line of prepainted fantasy miniatures, has been officially moved from a November release to a January, 2016 release.
Let's face it. This is par for the course. I don't recall the last time that any Battles set didn't arrive at least one month late. I believe Paizo/WizKids/NECA record remains unbroken. Not a single on time delivery.
I'm pleased to show off this handsome Bed
I agree. It's simply awesome!
The Bed is a dungeon dressing piece that will be randomly inserted into booster packs, with the general idea of there being at least one per case (collation, as per usual, is an inexact science and is not guaranteed).
That's simply extremely disappointing. Especially considering that this piece doesn't look hard or expensive to make. I was expecting at least two per case.
The Graceful Slayer, an elf barbarian looks great as well.

I'd be happy with a bed re-paint (or several - different color blankets!) available on Paizo. But I WILL need quite a few, so there needs to be a way to get them.

I'll look into a bed repaint. The problem is I'd need to order _thousands_ of them. While I can see people ordering 10 burning braziers at a time, and ordered accordingly, I'm not as convinced that beds in bulk are such a good idea.
Feel free to convince me otherwise. :)
Just remove the 1 per person limit for the singles, just for the bed, and see what happens ;-)
of the brazier I bought one original and four repaints, I'd probbably go for the same mix with beds.

I agree that there will be significant demand for the beds, however I have no idea if that demand would be in the hundreds or the thousands.
I do know that "terrain" items have always been popular items on eBay and Kickstarters. I would classify this as "indoor terrain". Bookcases, tables, chairs, beds and crates/barrels always seem to be the most popular types of "indoor terrain". (Even more popular when they are pre-painted which they so rarely are).
Myself, I can say that I have a high need of tables and chairs, and I am really hoping that one of the remaining dressing items may happen to fulfill this need. If so, then I would definitely recommend that you order them in the thousands as I am certain there will be demand for them.
Any encounter inside a building or dwelling will usually involve 1 or more tables being present. Combat encounters in bedrooms are usually far less frequent (unless you choose your bed partners poorly).
I know I would likely buy a half dozen beds if they were available as promos, but that only accounts for 6 of the 2000+ you would need to sell. (Given how much plastic is used in making these beds though, I suspect the price would also be higher and could deter people from buying a lot for of them?)

I honestly don't know at present. I think they have lots of sets of lots of different brands to coordinate, so it's not so simple as "every six months" or so. I'll try to find out soon.
It's very hard for us to demonstrate demand for an item if there isn't supply, when there's no mechanism for pre-orders. Put another way, if these weren't in the ultra-rare availability, I'd be looking to acquire five to ten of them, depending on the price.
I do get the difficulty you've got though Erik. You do a great job navigating through the iceberg-infested waters and I recognize that the whole line isn't so ridiculously profitable that a couple missteps wouldn't sink it.
I'll support the call for tables, chairs, and crates. I've got a bunch of barrels from my Reaper Bones set, as it happens.

I build a lot of 3D encounters and the most common item is definetly a table.
2 squares long and 1 square broad. There is not a single adventure that comes to mind where this is not the case.
Just for example: I counted the tables in Pathfinder Adventure Path 53: Jade Regent part 5 - Tide of Honor which i am GMing actually: The map on page 12 has 16 tables and 10 beds.
Sadly the maps in AP 99 (which is the only other one i actually have at hand) are not as detailed so i can not provide numbers for it.
I easily need a dozen beds and tables.
Actually i use match box inlays as beds and long crates as tables and short crates as stools.

I made a gazillion tables and chairs out of printed cardstock when I made the Lucky Monkey Inn in 3D (for the old Shackled City campaign), plus I have loads of Dwarven Forge, Mage Knight, and Bones furniture (painted up some more just this afternoon!), so while I'll be happy to get some furniture with this set, I probably won't be one of those people who's eager to buy a dozen more pieces down the road.

The easiest way to determine demand nowadays is just to make a Kickstarter project. I would encourage Paizo and WizKids to explore this option for some of its Pre-Painted Miniatures which fall into the unknown demand category. This would really help to determine demand for things like the bed and/or tables (or possibly even some huge minis). Hopefully WizKids would be receptive to this idea -- although I don't think they have been involved in any Kickstarter/crowdfunding projects to date.

3 people marked this as a favorite. |
I happily bought 6 reprint braziers, I'd happily buy 6+ repaint beds. In fact I d probably order multiples of any of the terrain to date, with the exception of the angzharan statue. The 1, possibly 2, in a case just isn't enough. Of course I might be a strange exception to the rule.

Speaking of minis and repaints will the convention repaints be appearing soon? I know I want to grab some of those as Christmas gifts if possible.
Relevant information. ^_^

Are the Albino Wererats already out of stock?
How am I going to get one now?
They are still selectable. For some reason they are further up in the store list though, and not grouped with the other 2015 Promo minis. I wasn't even aware that this was released this year.

It turns out there was an error - they were listed as unavailable earlier. Check the Product Discussion there for more panic.
