I'm Savannah Broadway, the newest resident of Internistan, which was established by my fellow intern, Jerome. For those of you that were wondering, he's still alive and well as far as I know—our schedules don't often overlap, lest we be forced to knife-fight to the death over the computer. I don't know if you all remember the pictures of the desks of previous interns, but our realm has relocated to the warehouse. On the plus side, this means access to a lovely set of windows that mostly overlook bushes and bit of the parking lot, and getting to listen in on whatever music the warehouse crew is currently playing.
I'm new to the state of Washington, having temporarily relocated here from tiny southern Illinois. Next fall will be my junior year at Southern Illinois University Carbondale studying Creative Writing and working in the Preservation lab. I've been into reading and writing for as long as I can remember, but I started roleplaying games about two and a half years ago. Since then I've loved the storytelling aspect of the game, both as a player and a GM. I enjoy running bards, barbarians, a few sorcerers, and once a chaotic good necromancer with an undead dodo familiar named Percy.
Working at Paizo (even for the week or so that I've been at it) has been a blast. The first time I pulled into the parking lot I saw that the car next to me sported a pair of fuzzy d20s and knew that I had found the right building. My tasks so far have been writing summaries for some of the Pathfinder Tales, working on maps, and updating the infamous Rules Database. Also on the list is braving Cosmo, who hasn't quite given up on insisting that I bring him coffee and likes to try to act like a ninja. On another note, you'll be able to see my very first work for Paizo in the upcoming Pathfinder Adventure Path #59: The Price of Infamy.
All in all, I'm sure that this summer will be a blast. The database may be intimidating and the mouse wheel may refuse to scroll down, but I can't think of any other place I'd rather intern. With any luck, I'll see you all at PaizoCon!
Judging by the position of the missing book in the stack, and the fact Savannah seems to have organized all her player books to the right, and her DM books to the left, I'd say the open book on her desk is likely Ultimate Races. The illustration we can see on the open page reminds me of something fishy, like a Gillman.
GO DAWGS! As a SIUC alumni, I'm proud to see a fellow Saluki in the trenches of my favorite publishing company. Congrats on the internship Savannah, I look forward to seeing your work in AP #59!
Jerome's alive? Are you sure it wasn't his flayed skin stretched on one of PMG drones to lull you into a false sense of safety? Or hollowed out shell animated by one of dark forces hiding somewhere in paizo warehouse?
I haven't been to SIUC for many years since I last went to the Egyptian Campaign con at the university in the 90's. Congrats on the new internship at Paizo.

Please, you think that the PMG kills the intern he skins for his drones?

Having one's brain surgically removed, placed into a jar and connected to computer does not qualify as being alive for me, even if the neural tissue is still living in biological sense.
Also, beware what they are serving in nearby restaurants. PMG has to get rid of unnecessary flesh and bone that weren't fed to raptors in the warehouse (with the number of interns coming and going they could grow quite picky, you know).
Assuming you are coming back in the fall, should I expect you to come join us for some Pathfinder Society play at Castle Perilous? It's walking distance from the campus, after all...
congrats on the internship, its nice to see someone else with their books arranged so:) enjoy the summer in the puget sound, they are awesome (i lived there, it doesn't rain as much as the locals let on, they're just trying to keep it to themselves:)
Good luck with the internship, and I do have to say she reminds me of the gnome from the races section of the campaign setting. Which isn't a bad thing when working for Paizo lol.

Savannah...Crystal...Cosmo... Does having a zany first name net you bonus points in qualifying for a job at Paizo?
I thought all americans had zany names?!
That said, have a nice life at Paizo Savannah, I envy you a bit - if I'd only be 30 years younger... and not like 3000 miles away... and not like unable to write good english... you know.
PS:
You really could impersonate Lini (the druid Iconic), if you would change to green hair and tame Cosmo and paint him whitish with black leopard dots :-)

Why thank you! It's always nice to see someone from the 'dale.
What goes on in a Preservation lab? Is there a Ruin lab, too? :P
Not as far as I know. As for what goes on in Preservation? Generally a lot of useless anger at people who write in their library books, or drop them in water, or stab them with scissors, or--well, you get the picture. Afterwords we generally, y'know, do something about it.
