Philosopher's stone plus 5,000 pounds of lead (5,000 pounds of gold at current prices would set me until end of my life and then some).
Ring of regeneration.
And either helm of teleportation, ring of telekinesis or ring of the djinni.
I'd like to swap my #3 item for a ring of telikinesis.

1.- Sphere of Annihilation - I'd set up a radioactive waste removal company by patenting my "Mystery Box of Absolute Disintegration" and become rich, while saving the world some trouble in the way. Will probably die of hubris while pulling big levers and cackling my final plan, though. Still, rich.
2.- Ring of Telekinesis - TV REMOTE, COME TO ME!
3.- Lyre of Building - I've always fancied my head carved in a mountain.

I think this one wins.
I can see now that I was thinking too small in my desire to fulfill personal and physical needs. You could literally solve the world's energy problems, hunger, and disease with 3 items.Charlie Bell RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16 |
1. headband of mental perfection +6
2. ring of sustenance
3. mirror of mental prowess, which I just noticed apparently does not exist as a PFRPG item
1. be awesome
2. 6 extra hours per day
3. travel anywhere and take people with you, read minds, get information

Ring of 3 wishes-Hopefully that headband will help me make the right wishes.
Ring of Sustenance
I might be tempted to sub in the Spindle of Perfect Knowledge. Only a +4 to Int/Wis/Cha, but it throws in constant comprehend languages, tongues, and telepathy with a range of 100 feet.

Well let's see.
1: Item that gives Dragon Wings (or in other words, Fly/Overland Fly)
2: ... ... To heck with it, everything I'd want to do would be accomplished by casting spells sooo...
3: Book of Infinite Spells (hopefully, Wish/Miracle is one of the spells, and eventually I'll be able to swap commoner 10/expert 5 levels for wizard levels. Probably be homebrewed too.
ring of substinance was tempting, but everyone I know is asleep at 2 in the morning, and I just can't find any video games to play... Plus, I like Pizza...
Nymian Harthing |
I gotta go with:
1. ring of sustenance - extra time to actually do what I want instead of sleep? Hellyeah, signmeup!
2. rod of wonder - I'd gift it to a friend, who would probably chase another friend with it until the DM yelled at him IRL :)
3. ring of feather fall - for those times you don't want to fall and accidentally murder yourself whilst cleaning out the leaves in the rain gutter

helm of teleportation.
Visiting family would be much easier. Travel to internet friends houses for an hour, then go home. No dwi (make it greater teleport so I don't mess up). Driving directions, unneccessary. See favorite speaker on a weeknight states, or even countries away. Cuban cigars or Amsterdam hookup just a blink away. Bring friends.
Ring of disease immunity? Think there's something like that. Old age would be the way to go.
Amulet of time rewind? Go back to previous round i think once per day. Stick foot in mouth talking to chick? lemme try that again. Fall off ladder while cleaning gutters and wish you had ff, it's ok.
I like the 3 wishes for it's versitility, and might pick that if it wasn't already. That way you could help out others just in case.
Ring of sustenence is popular, but I really like to eat. Some food is just fantastic. Sleeping I could do without.

I got mine at my FLGS, along with a Deck of Illusion and the Crit and Fumble decks. Might be able to ask around if yours has them.

I got most of my PFRPG books at mine, they were looking lonely on the tiny shelf of gaming books. The only other things there were a couple 4e books. Oh well, I'll probably just rename cards and use a tarot deck.
Captain Sir Hexen Ineptus |
1 (Standard now I think) Ring of Sustenance
2 Amulet of Adaptation
3 Ring of 3 wishes.
I'd use my extra time working on writing up those three wishes before I used them.
Wishes (purposes not actual wording)
1. Immortality with eternal youth and never getting killed unless I willed it.
2. Perfect Mind, perfect memory, concentration, and the ability to forget what ever I willed to, or even have it work as normally did.
3. To wish another person to have the same gifts from the last two wishes.
Lathiira |
1) Ring of sustenance. I'd still have the option to eat, drink, and sleep, but there are times when these things are ... inconvenient. Being able to get by without them would be nice.
2) Daern's Instant Fortress. Why? I'm a person who needs a certain amount of solitude; a fortress no one's going to get into without an M-1 Abrams? Priceless. And I'd happily open that sucker up at work when I finally reach the end of my patience and watch things get crushed :)
3) Ring of 3 wishes. I'd use the Captain's first two and save the last for when I really needed it.
Runner-up: Belt of physical perfection +6. I could use more Constitution for my allergies; more Strength for my work; and more Dexterity in general.
Second runner-up: Headband of Mental Superiority +6.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Obviously, a ring of three wishes would be tops on just about anyone's list, so I'm going to set that one aside.
1. ring of regeneration
2. periapt of health
3. boots of teleportation
1 & 2 because I'm both getting on in years and have an irrational fear of hospitals.
3 because I love to travel but hate flying. (I'm not afraid of flying-- I just hate the experience of 21st-century air travel.)

I'm sure I'll think of something better but this is where I'm at right now:
Handy Haversack - Finally, I can get all my GMing stuff to other people's houses without killing myself.
Brass Dragon Orb - Sure, it's evil to possess one, but there aren't actually any dragons HERE so, and this is all hypothetical anyway. Boost to AC and saves helps with the city I live in. Fire breath - duh. And teleport once per round. Finally, that world tour I always wanted to go on, without worrying about getting a sinus infection from flying.
Gauntlet of Rust - Touch the undercarriage of every car that's double parked or cuts people off. Sure, I can teleport now, but something still needs to be done about these jerks.
If I couldn't live with the burden of having a dragon orb, I'd probably swap out for boots of teleportation, it's the teleportation I want most.
The health/longevity items are tempting, but I think I'd rather have fun with the time I've got. But again, that's where I am right now.

Yar!
Only 3?! ARGH!
1: Ring of Sustenance. Not only for the extra 6 hours of being awake each day, but also for the nourishment aspect of it. No longer needing to eat/drink to live, and thus (by extension of not having to eat) no longer needing to go to the bathroom ever again either!
2: Folding Boat. What self respecting Pirate doesn't want his ship with him at all times?
3: Necklace of Adaption/Iridescent Spindle Ioun Stone. Noxious/poisonous fumes? No problem! Trapped underwater? No problem! Wandered into the airlock of a space station after being depressurized? No problem! Buried alive? No problem!
Runner-ups:
r1: Ring of Regeneration. Fatal Injuries? Not no more!
r2: Periapt of Health. Diseases? I don't think so! Cold/Flu, cardiovascular diseases, mental diseases, Alzheimers, all them STD's/STI's, all forms of Cancer? Not for me!
r3: Periapt of Proof Against Poison. Bad food, dangerous animal bites, toxic substances... all shut down!
(must find a way to have both Proof Against Poison and Health active at the same time... pay double to make one of them slotless?)

I'm changing my answer too.
An intelligent spell book that can teach me or just magically impart the knowledge. That'll cover most if my desired given time.
The 3.5 painting that's the equivelant of Dorian Greys painting. At least until I make 20 th level and discover immortality for myself.
Ring of regeneration. Because if I'm immortal I don't want to live for eternity with any old injuries.
