0-1A: GHOSTS OF THE DEEP (Inactive)

Game Master Hawkmoon269

This is for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Season of the Shackles 0-1A: GHOSTS OF THE DEEP

I'm willing to run 0-1A: GHOSTS OF THE DEEP for 4 players. Malcolm_Reynolds has the first spot, so I'm looking for 3 more players. Anyone with a class deck that is interested, post here. I'll accept posts for 24 hours after this post is made. After that, if there are more players than spots I'll assign each applicant a number and roll to determine who to take.

What level is this for? I have a level 4 character.

How does ACG work over PBP? I'd be interested. (Wizard: Melindra)

Dark Archive

I would like to joined in on this adventure (lvl 1 wizard)

Pathfinder ACG Developer

I'm always happy to join in, but I'll defer to everyone else first since this is not the first time I've done this one :)

Most interested in playing a monk I think. At least of the characters currently available.

Lantern Lodge

I suppose as a secondary question: Are you okay with playing with someone who's never done any OP ACG?

Dark Archive

Also I'm new to pathfinder and trying to get better at it

Pathfinder ACG Developer

Ghosts of the Deep is an Organized Play scenario for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, which is inspired heavily by the RPG, but is not quite the same (it does not have levels, for instance).

Some previous examples of our attempts to do PbP ACG sessions, which I think have gone surprisingly well:
1-1A Cloven Trail
1-1B Instant Inquisition
1-1C Get to Fort Clearwatta

Essentially, one person (who can play along or "DM") has to manage the box of cards, and the rest of the people try to play in a fashion that they collaborate to better track availability and usage of resources so the game can go quickly. It can go surprisingly quickly (1-2 weeks) with attentive players.

I'd be interested if space allows. I don't have a copy of S&S, but I could proxy easy enough with other class deck/Wrath cards. I have 5 out of the first 7 CD's and would certainly be flexible in character selection.

Glad you explained that. I kept reading ACG as "Advanced Class Guide," and I was thinking a class deck was some option rule I hadn't heard of.

Sorry for the confusion. In this case, ACG means "Adventure Card Game". So, I think you were thinking I was running and RPG game using the Advanced Class Guide. Sorry about that. If you are still interested in the adventure card game, please post and I'd be happy to add you to the list of applicants.

This is the first time I've set up a play by post recruitment, so, let me do a better job of explaining here. This is for the Adventure Card Game. Keith gave some previous examples of this being done. If you are interested, all you need is a class deck. You do not need to own Skull and Shackles.

Typically, it takes a week, maybe two to finish up a scenario. I'll be pretty steady about posting during the week, except maybe on Wednesday. You do not need to have done any Adventure Card Game Organized Play (aka Adventure Card Guild) before. In game is totally the same as just playing from the regular box sets at home. You can grab the Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild Guide for more details about how it all works.

You probably should have some experience playing the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game before, since learning during a play by post may not be the best way to first play the game. But if you've got a few games under your belt and own a class deck, I'm happy to include you in the applicant pool.

Some advice: I'd really recommend sleeving your cards for this if you can, simply because it allows for easy proxying. You are probably going to acquire new cards during the game. The easiest thing to do is take some other card out of your class deck that you aren't currently using, stick it in a sleeve, write on a small approximately card size piece of paper what card you acquire (and any other details you might need to know) and stick it in the sleeve overtop of the proxy card. It works great. You can proxy without doing that, but it just works so much easier if you do that. At least in my opinion.

So far I'm seeing interest from:

Jayson MF Kip
malimber (I'm not totally sure you realize this is this card game, but I can't really tell. Let me know for sure.)
Keith Richmond
cosined

Everyone else I think thought I was doing the RPG (again, sorry). So, if you aren't on that list and are interested, be sure to post.

I'd like to be in. Probably Tarlin Cleric or Koren Paladin, but I'll wait and see what everyone else wants to run.

BOO I can't believe I missed this recruitment!

But you haven't! Other than Malcolm_Reyonlds, whom I previously promised a spot to, I'll be randomly picking from all the other interested players. So I'll through your name into the pool.

Went to assure you that you were incorrect, and of course Hawk swooped in first...

Oh excellent! Well then, I look forward to hopefully being picked! :-D

I will throw my hat into the ring sir !

Grand Lodge

Go ahead and put my name in the hat. If I end up getting it and realize the commitment is too high, I'll pass my spot to next on the list. But I hope I can make it work out!

Sovereign Court

I'm iiiiiiiiinnnnnnn

I have all class decks and will fill whatever we need.

Pathfinder ACG Developer

You've got plenty of interest, so I'll duck out of the running (at least for this one) :)

I'm super excited to see what I started continuing on.

Even though I've completed S&S Adventure 1 six times I'll throw my name in the hat to play this.

~1.5 hrs to go! My enthusiasm for this will surely be rivaled by my disappointment when the drawing excludes me ;-)

Ok. Here are the applicants. I'm going to roll 1d100 for each and take the top 3 results to join Malcolm_Reynolds to make the group of 4. I'll PM each person and if anyone has changed their mind or can't do it, I'll take the next highest role for a replacement:

Jayson MF Kip Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 8
malimber Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 38
cosined Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 53
jduteau Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 86
cartmanbeck Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 40
Troymk1 Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 42
ThreeEyedSloth Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 80
Andrew L Klein Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 31
Pirate Rob Draw: 1d100 ⇒ 22

So...

jdeteau
ThreeEyedSloth

Congratulations. I'll be getting everything setup later tonight. Look to get started tomorrow or Thursday (Wednesdays are tough for me).

Everyone else, if this goes well enough, I'll see about running the same one again after this ends and I'll take you all in order again. I'll either go crazy and take all 6 of you if you remain interested, or I'll take two groups of 3 (and add another interested party if possible). So, don't feel too bad. You'll just have to be patient.

Woo Hoo! You like me! You like me! :)

Now to figure out which character to take on this run...

Woot!

Good luck all!

Grand Lodge

I'll go ahead and give my spot up to the next in line. Have fun everyone!

Would it be worth starting a thread so we can start discussing party make up, etc?

Alright, so Troymk1 is in then.

Discussion thread created. (I'm new to setting up this part of the forum, so if there is anything else I should do, let me know.)

Just noticed all this shenanigans ! Thanks Sloth!

Silver Crusade

Sorry to have missed this. I'd be interested in giving this format a try some time (not a lot of ACG locally). Especially interested in 0-1C and on.

Not interested (I'll be away on a trip next week) but I'm going to dot this for reference.
