Berethor of Gondor |
Working on altering my sheet now.
Berethor of Gondor |
Tarandor;
In my head, Denethor has been shown something through his secret Palantir. Perhaps it is Isildur's heir, come now to be a doughty Man, and Denethor, in his darkness, fears the usurpation of his power. Perhaps the Enemy is attempting to lure a young scion of Gondor to Eriador for nefarious purposes. Or perhaps Denethor merely wishes information on the movement of the Dunedain of the North. I can see any of those being true.
Thalion is still alive, though he is retired from active duty. He serves as sort of drill sergeant, training new recruits, and is generally well-respected and well-liked.
Elarinya |
Everything should be done and up to date! To respond;
Elarinya happens to have 2 ranks in Healing.
Also, as far as the questions; Elarinya is at her heart a historian. It would weigh heavy on her heart to live the life of a warrior, but if the Enemy attacks any of the Free Folk in strength, she will set down her work and face Sauron's forces head on. Basically, once the Enemy reveals himself in force, she will drop everything and fight him as befits one of the Noldor. It will contribute to her fading, though.
Elarinya's ancestor Andvari, an apprentice of Celebrimbor, forged Andvaranaut, one of the lesser Rings.
GM Tarondor |
Everyone who answered a question about their character here in Discussions, please make sure you post that answer to your character.
Elarinya, I didn't know until just now that your character was female. Please put that in her stat line!
Okay, gang. I'll try to get us started this weekend, but I think I might be busy straight through. If so, we'll start no later than Monday.
Lothac |
I think I've done that and am pretty much good to go.
Loremaster, do you have any further thoughts, comments, or ideas for Lothac that you'd like to suggest? If you do, I'll happily discuss them here or via PM.
Also, Berethor, I added a section at the end of Lothac's history refering to your character.
EDIT: Oh, and I work weekends and have a real life game on Monday, so expect posts to come late at night. I'm only off today because I'm sick. (Nothing major; just some very annoying cold symptoms when I handle food and money a lot.)
Tilly Appledore |
I have the flu (over the past two weeks), so I can empathise. Feel better soon, Lothac and Primrose.
Tilly: Perhaps, some 10 years ago, Tilly got lost out in the wilderness near Bree and she was guided back to safety by a female Ranger. The Ranger spoke little and never gave her name. Last year a woman came to Prancing Pony and played music and sang. The flute was exquisitely carved of wood and when you approached the woman to ask of it, you recognized the voice...the same as that Ranger who helped you those years ago.
I'm good with this, Morwenn. :)
So all in all, Tilly has had some dealings with Primrose, Elarinya and Morwenn.
Okay, gang. I'll try to get us started this weekend, but I think I might be busy straight through. If so, we'll start no later than Monday.
Works for me as this is my birthday weekend (Sunday is my actual bday) and will be busy with family and festivities. Looking forward to the start of game. :) I'll update my profile with the added answer and Tilly's character connections.
Lothac |
Thanks, Tilly. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be alright; it's just cold symptoms. But since I work as a cashier, I'd rather minimize the likelihood of getting someone else sick, since between all the bills, coins, and foodstuffs I handle, I'm bound to spread something nasty around if I have any sort of illness.
Registers are germ central, man. I never have enough hand sanitizer.
Elarinya |
Should be all updated. @Morwenn, I'm good with having Elarinya know her. Perhaps the Ranger has consulted Elarinya when Lore has been needed?
GM Tarondor |
Loremaster, do you have any further thoughts, comments, or ideas for Lothac that you'd like to suggest?
Nope! But don't mistake my brevity for lack of interest. Lothac was merely the most completely ready character, with no loose ends I wanted shored up!

Here's hoping that all you sick call cases get better real soon, especially you, Tilly! Get better for that birthday! And Happy Birthday!
Even though my four-year old had his birthday about nine days ago, we're celebrating with his classmates from daycare and their parents this Sunday. There will be a magician and pizza. So I'll think of you when I'm having cake.
Lothac |
There will be a magician and pizza.
Just keep any magic rings away from your son and don't let him give everyone a surprise birthday speech and everything should be cool.
Also, watch for spooky fireworks.
Tilly Appledore |
Tarondor, I hope your son enjoys his party on your Sunday. And warm thanks to you and Primrose for the b'day wishes. :)
Morwenn |
Sorry, Tilly, meant to pass along happy b-day wishes as well :)
That age is so great for kids, I've got 3 : 5,3 and 1, All girls so mostly ponies and princesses for our birthdays.... Enjoy your party!
Morwenn |
Berethor, was that meetup idea with Morwenn ok with you? No biggie if it isn't.
Berethor of Gondor |
Oh, sorry, I must have missed that!
Yeah, that's cool with me :)
Tilly Appledore |
Thanks, Morwenn. :)
Lothac |
How did your birthday go Tilly?
Tilly Appledore |
It went well (nice seafood lunch by the river) even with the whole fam sick. Thanks, Lothac. :)
GM Tarondor |
I'm glad it went well. Hope you get better soon!
On our side of the world, my son's pirate magician was awesome. However, my wife was concerned she wouldn't have enough cake for all the kids, their parents and siblings, so she ordered two full-sized cakes. We didn't even finish the first one. Also, everyone ate about eight of the twelve pizzas we ordered, so my fridge now has a full-sized birthday cake and four pizzas in it... Hey, what am I doing here writing to you? I have a fridge full of pizza and cake! See ya in a few hours!
Lothac |
Awesome! Give me a few minutes to enjoy a grilled cheese, use the restroom, grab soda, etc. Then I'll start.
Lothac |
Ack. I should've mentioned this when I made my post - I feel like it's fair to say that Lothac needed to rent a room at the Prancing Pony. He frankly probably couldn't afford it on his own - perhaps Primrose paid for his stay?
Berethor of Gondor |
Yeah, I'm more worried about the arm. I work in the food service industry; my restaurant just got mobile tablets, and using it jacked up my arm. Hopefully it's easily fixable.
Lothac |
A small aside on the note of dice rolls: there ARE particular abilities that let you roll a Feat Die twice and choose the better result, so if you ever get one of those you might roll your feat die separately, but otherwise a simple 1d12+2d6 or whatever your number may be works fine.
Also... Ouch, Wasted. I hope your arm recovers soon - and that nothing is seriously wrong with it.
Berethor of Gondor |
You and me both! Gotta make that money :p
Tilly Appledore |
Sorry about your arm, Berethor. Hope it heals up soon.
Tilly Appledore |
How old is Berethor?
Berethor of Gondor |
He's young. Like 20. Been in the Gondorian army for 5 years, newly minted to the Tower Guard.
Lothac |
20-ish? Alright. So, Lothac is six years or so his elder. How young did you want Berethor to have been when they fought? 16?
Also, Loremaster: I wanted to know if you wanted us to start counting advancement points yet, and if so starting at what point of the thread. I don't want to count points that I'm not supposed to, so as yet I've listed nothing.
Also, Primrose: this particular mood is probably darker than most your character has seen Lothac in. I doubt they've been in any battles together yet, and he's about to actually join one. He's... excited, and not in a good way. She's seen him try to express dominance over others before, but this should be something new (to her at least).
Berethor of Gondor |
I like 15. Young enough that 5 years has made a significant weight, height and hair difference.
Berethor of Gondor |
It's my general assumption that we're only awarded A.P. for rolls the LM calls for, and thus I have not marked any yet.
Lothac |

That's my impression as well. We haven't been called to do anything yet, so we're in a sort of prologue moment here.
Tilly Appledore |
Weekend (which starts tomorrow for me) is going to be super busy as I'll be out of town taking care of family stuff. I will try and post when I'm back home or when I can find a little time between events and responsibilities. Apologies.
Lothac |
On suspicion of my computer having a virus, I will be reformatting my computer. I'll try to post in the morning if I'm done by then, but otherwise... expect 1-2 days of wait before I can post again. Sorry!
Lothac |
The computer has been reformatted and all is well in the world of Men. The Second Age of my computer dawns.
But yeah I'll be reading up on any updates that occur after work tonight.
Tilly Appledore |
Excellent news, Lothac!
Morwenn |
Indeed....no hurry.
Tilly Appledore |
Hope tomorrow's better, LM Tarondor. Get some rest.
Berethor of Gondor |
Sorry to hear that, sir! And indeed, take your time. I'd way rather people not burn themselves out.
Tilly Appledore |
Paizo is really slow to load or change pages for me. Not sure if others are experiencing the same issue.
Tilly had a great success and an automatic success on her Athletics. Tilly and Elarinya, you also may take Advancement Points in your Movement Skill Groups. Be sure to mark them on your character sheets!
Excellent. Thanks. I'm not sure how to mark it on my sheet. I placed a '1' in the Advancement field and in the Movement line I placed a '1' in place of the first circle field. is this correct? Does anything else need to be done?

Oh, yes. It's been awful. Seems better now, though.

See the circles to the right of your skill groups? Replace the first circle with another symbol. I like to use ● or Ø. But a "1" will do just as well.
