Amergin the Wise |
End of Chapter 2. I'll write up a synopsis and post it to the Campaign Info tab.
Now we have to figure out what is next... As far as I can tell, we're down to two players, unfortunately. I don't know what happened, but it's an occasion to discuss how we feel about the campaign until now, and how we would like to move forward.
Padraic? Fintan? Speak now or forever hold your peace?!
A few questions:
1) Is the campaign too linear to date? Would you prefer more freedom in the sandbox? I have in mind where I would like this story to go, but I am curious to know where you would like to take it, insofar as you character is concerned.
2) Do you have strong, dependable players to recommend? I'll have to think about how to introduce them in a strong, logical, and engaging way.
3) Pacing too fast? Too slow?
4) Still all in? For obvious reasons, I'll be asking this very same question at the end of each chapter, in order to hopefully avoid losing players at inopportune times, as we just did.
In any case, let's discuss. And I'll take advantage of this lull to prepare for the next chapter!
Aoife FitzStephen |
1) I'm enjoying that story as it is. Though a bit more movement is always welcome.
2) I have Teiidae in a couple of other games and he posts at a regular basis.
3)Pacing is totally cool. Maybe a little fast for Teiidae but I'm not sure so don't quote me on that.
4) I didn't leave when people where vanishing before, I'm not going to now. I like my character.
Brother Ó Máille |
1) I thought you had very well constructed story there. The reveal of Amergin was beautiful. Keep doing what you do best ^_^
2) The only other game I'm in that hasn't fizzled out by now has a few good players in it. The GM is good, so I imagine he'd be a good player. Leedwashere is a good roleplayer from my experience in that campaign.
3) The pacing is a breath of fresh air in comparison to the games where it feels like everyone checks in on a weekly basis.
4) I would go through recruitment all over again to have you as my GM.
Brother Ó Máille |
Woo! Pleasure to have you on board, sir.
Brother Ó Máille |
Oh, sorry about that. Question for the GM and party at large: What do you think I should take for my 3rd level feat? I'm deciding between Selective Channel and Peacemaker.
Also, I tried to pick up less noticeable spells again, us being in a low magic setting and all. As always please let me know if you see any discrepancies or have any concerns.
Brother Ó Máille |
I was leaning towards that as well, I think it's less than optimal, but perfect for the Brother. I've changed his default prepared spells to include command and such to further the peacekeeper theme.
Another thing I gained is a bonded item. Like a wizard, I can cast an additional spell per day without preparing it at my highest spell level as long as I have my bonded item (A wooden cross on a cord around his neck, of course).
Thorun Madsen |
Hello all, and thank you GM for giving me the opportunity to be a part of a campaign that has clearly seen a lot of work and care.
I am posting with the alias I will be using, however right now only the crunch is finished. I'm currently working on updating the background with Amergin in PMs.
Questions/comments/concerns/feedback is always appreciated, and I look forward to the campaign!

Welcome! (From the other new guy...)
Thorun Madsen |
Alright everything about the character should be finished up, feel free to take a look (and I always appreciate feedback)!
Thorun Madsen |
Background has some touch ups, including a summary at the top. Everything discussed in PMs with Amergin should be included now!
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
Thorun, I'll PM you tomorrow re a shared background, at least in the short term.
Thorun Madsen |
Sounds like a plan. You should be able to see where my connection to the McKiernan's is under my own background.
Thorun Madsen |
If we're already expecting a difficult fight, being fatigued will only make things harder. Especially since that keeps Thorun from being able to rage at all. Fatigue is crippling for a barbarian.
Amergin the Wise |
A note on religion and priestly magic, for those of you that have just arrived: spell-casting priests are very rare. Priestly spells are miracles, and healing spells in particular. Most priests are simply common men who have studied the bible and know how to conduct religious ceremonies.
Thorun, this is certainly the first time that you have felt the touch of God. You should consider it a gift, something quite remarkable. I am not implying that you should all of a sudden switch to Catholic monotheist beliefs. But the fact that the power of God has manifested should have some impact in role-play...
To be clear: in this campaign, priestly spells only work on those who praise God, those who have faith, those who are willing to honour his Spirit.
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
I'll be up and running tonight just too damn tired last night to post on the boards.
Brother Ó Máille |
Yeah, my 'magic' won't work on you if you don't believe.
I vote to take a slower route.
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
I vote a slower route as well, tactically speaking it will be the best chance for success against a larger force.
Brother Ó Máille |
Wow, you're 1.68 centimeters tall? I mean, I'm an American, but I think that's awfully small ;)

LoL, meant meters or I'm a Leprechaun.
