Well, as far as battle planning is concerned, I can cast Bull's Strength on Aoife and Thorun giving them +4 STR. (3 min duration means I think I can cast it before combat rounds begin) Our priest friend doesn't necessarily want more bloodshed, but removing Boho's army from the equation makes the peace he so desires much easier to attain. What do we do with our captured warriors during this fight?
Thorun Madsen |
If Thorun has an additional +4 to strength he's nearly guaranteed to be downing an enemy every single round. While raging that would be +11 to hit and damage would be 1d12+15. *shudder*
Amergin the Wise |
So... (1) Battle or (2) negotiate? Kassidy and O'Maile seem to be in favour of (2), as is Fintan. Thorun and Aoife have spoken in favour of both options, but Aoife did express a strong desire to kill the Quinns. Padraic doesn't seem to care, one way or another.
I just want to be sure. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, obviously!
Once that's decided, we can move to on your plan!
Brother Ó Máille |
After some discussing, Ó Máille will support Aoife's position as he feels responsible for this whole mess. So my official vote is fight.
With Touch of Law, you'll auto-hit anything with an AC lower than 23 o_o
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
The Frey's gave the same offer to the Starks and look how well that turned out...
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
We should stash Nial, go to this dinner or whatever, and tell them if you ever want to see your son again don't harm us.
Agreed, I suppose we leave him with the NPCs? Unless one of us should stay back just in case!
We certainly CANNOT walk Nial back in.
Thorun Madsen |
Unless you guys need me there to intimidate people, I say Thorun should stay behind. His giant grizzly butt would probably only raise tensions, and he would be really good at watching a prisoner.
Brother Ó Máille |
I could be ignorant of cultural norms in this situation, but could Fintan and I take the prisoners to the village and make the exchange in the open? That way, we could have the rest of you nearby in case anything goes south.
Aoife FitzStephen |
Thorun is totally better suited to this than Aoife is, but she sure as hell wants in on this!
Though I as a player say that this should be denied her. Aoife was vengeance to the point of revenge. If allowed to be the champion she very likely could fall from NG to TN. Maybe even evil... I don't want that. She hasn't passed the point of no return yet, allow her to kill Sean and she will.
Thorun Madsen |
Aye, let the raving mad viking to the killing. His soul is already soaked in blood, what's another splash?
Plus it would be hilarious.
"Who's your champion?"
*points to Thorun*
It would be like in Game of Thrones when The Mountain was chosen as champion.
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
I am the anti-Wolverine, I'm the worst I am at what I do! LOL.
Ah wait, all that failure followed by the ultimate success! :-)
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
Interesting. My plan was for Sean to get away, and fight another day. Under the circumstances, hunting him down was meant to be near impossible.
Good rolls!
Crap followed by ridiculously good fortune. I suppose rolling well when it REALLY counts counts for something! :-)
Brother Ó Máille |
In my limited experience, that's the most enjoyable way to play. Follow a storyline, but allow die rolls to add an element of random chance and surprise.
Kassidy O'Kennedy |
I am a role player and not a roll player, but in this particular case, I do think that the dice make for interesting twists and turns!
As am I! I would rather RP out a scene than simply make rolls but often times rolls increase efficiency both in table top and in PbP. :-)
Thorun Madsen |
Just as a quick aside sorry if I upset anybody with Thorun's RP. He's a harsh guy, and a bit of a dick. I promise that ooc I'm much nicer :)
Aoife FitzStephen |
Does anyone know if Sanctuary laws are around now?
Okay I found statments of Sanctuary being noted as far back as 600 AD. So the real question is do we use it?
Also don't worry about your character Thorun! I never judge people by their character, but by their character.. Okay that was confusing but I think you get my meaning?

It's how I prefer my barbarians...
Brother Ó Máille |
10/10 grumpy dick. Glad to have you ;D
Aoife FitzStephen |
Sorry I've been a bit less active lately, my mom had back surgery and I've mostly been taking care of her because well... I don't trust my stepdad to do it. He's just not good with that kind of thing.
Brother Ó Máille |
I've been less active than I would like as well. Still getting used to University.
Amergin the Wise |
Always focus on the stuff that really matters. Absolutely no worries. And University is such an amazing time!
Insofar as the game is concerned, it's my job to keep things moving along. I assure you that my OOC comments are not meant to be in the least passive aggressive.
Indiscreet question: what are you studying?
Brother Ó Máille |
Medical Laboratory Technology. Lots of biology and chemistry!
Amergin the Wise |
As far as I understood, the goal was to get Sean to church... That being said, nothing stops you all from heading back to Boho. But I wouldn't depend on your Bluff skill to keep a secret! ;)
The way I see it, the hunt for Sean will continue one way or another, until they find out that he is in Tuaim. So if Sean's whereabouts remain a secret, given that he is your so-called sworn enemy, there is no reason for the King of Boho to suspect anything at all.
Brother Ó Máille |
Our priest friend is a little fed up with politics :o
I'm having a blast, Ó Máille's just a little grumpy.
Aoife FitzStephen |
Hey I love politics! Hell I almost when into politics... Then I decided I wanted to sleep at night! XD
But Aoife just isn't built for politics, at least not right now. Even if the dice believe she should be.
Aoife FitzStephen |
Honestly she's learned a lot in a short amount of time. Going from the, "I'm the person who hits things and is sad at my state in life" or "I'm still the person who hits thing, but can now talk you down as well... Also now has a bit of anger problems, but is still a nice person!"
Brother Ó Máille |
Too much politics?
Not at all! Conflict is what makes stories interesting, dynamic, and real, but even a man of God grows weary of politics.
