Also, then where the heck am I from?
Hmm. That could make an interesting plot point. Figuring out where the heck the shantaks came from.
Great, now I'm thinking again.
Sounds like an interesting story development, yes. Perhaps the shantaks have developed their own fictitious history of their origins and will be shocked to learn the truth. Or whatever. But it should be interesting however it turns out. :)

I'm trying to step up and take a more active role in plot-crafting.
I'm not good at it, I'd think.
I'm glad to hear that. And I think you're better at it than you give yourself credit for. The trick is to give just enough for others to riff off of really. And the only way to get better is to practice. So far I'm pretty impressed with your idea today. :)

Well, other shantaks probobly don't care. They're too busy pulling people into space and suffocationg them for thier amusement.
They aren't exactly nice.

Just because they're murder-hoboes doesn't mean they can't care. They could be philosophers for all we know. I mean, they have a lot of time to think about stuff after they've suffocated one passenger and before they pick up the next. Maybe they have non-murdery hobbies too.

You have a good point. Oddly.

Lyn, are you coming back to post in game later tonight? Both Ace and Sil could use responses, Silinrul moreso than Ace, since Ty answered his actual question. Suppose Jai could just toss in ideas or suggestions.
Yeah, I am. Sorry, I got way behind, and I keep getting interrupted cause life. I have to go make dinner. Hopefully I can get a couple more posts in while it cooks. But the kidlet is already giving me the why is the gluten free pizza not ready to eat look. And yes he's that specific. If I just call it pizza he corrects me. Every time.

Kids like to correct things, I've noticed.
Let's the, be "right".

Settings like this are cool because (among oter reasons) it basically shows what happens if you take the possibility of there always being a bigger fish and have a universe where space is effectively infinite (eg an infinite number of ponds,)
Then you get to see them react to each other, and then you can take the concept of the unreliable narrator and mess things up even further
(Big fish in question here listed in approximate size smallest to biggest are the summer fey, the winter fey, the dark tapestry, the great old ones, the others, and the patrons (specifically the seads of destruction)
Lord Foul II |
Sorta, I'd say about par with the others and the great old ones but as I said it's an aproximation
It was stated earlier that te reason that rovagug was so hard to destroy/seal was as a result of such a seed
But then that's a seed inside an already defic beig so there's that

It's probably a bad thing that I immediately picutred Ayn Rand as a Shantak.

Is it bad that after looking her up, i kinda agree?

"murder-hoboes"
"non-murdery hobbies"
Lyn, you made me spit coffee on my desk....
My gaming group usually reserves the term "murder-hoboes" for Paladins. XD
Sometimes it's "Thought-police-murder-hobo" though, if the Paladin is one of those that thinks a Detect Evil spell is judge and jury, with them being the executioner.

One of my favorite tactics for murderhobo paladins are hgih-level Infernal sorcerers with a good sense of planning.
While the party finishes off the camp of Generic Monsters, the sorcerers sneak into the cage that holds the Generic Commoners that the PCs are supposed to rescue and use their Corrupting Touch ability the peasants them to radiate evil as if they were a demon for about two minutes or so.
When the paranoid murderhobo paladin scans the Generic Commoners for evil, his spell pings, and he murders all of them. And falls.
Evil, I know.

You have no proof of their actions- you are acting hidiously outside your bounds of the law.
Not to mention it's murder without actual provocation (very evil.)
And even if the power was enterly accurate, it's murder without any chance of redemption, and with no visual proof that they are still doing things wrong, jsut "this guy has been known to be evil in the past."
Any ping-and-smite paladin better know why thier swinging thier sword, becuase good people don't kill people just becuase they look evil.

So, FYI, while I will try to post to the game thread later, it's iffy. I'm having a Very Bad Day. It's Wednesdays. They're out to get me, I swear. Two weeks ago I fell down the stairs, last week I injured my arm, and this week I had two severe hypoglycemic episodes in one day. >.<
I should just stay in bed on Wednesdays from here on out.....
lynora |
That's fair Lyn. I hereby also give you Weds off :)
Are you all caught up?
I'm up to Canaries. I would have got caught up but I realized that I was so far behind on the Flash that episodes were gonna start dropping off my queue and I didn't want to have to pay for episodes on itunes. So I am sorta going back and forth now. Considering dropping the Flash altogether. I'm really only watching for the crossover stuff anyways. It just hasn't grabbed me. Way too predictable. If I'm still bored with it after another couple episodes I'll stop watching.

Which is good. I need the breather. I find it hard to keep up with tv this year. I was trying to watch five different shows when I really only have time for two or at most three. Or was it six shows? I lost track. Anyhow, it makes me a bit pickier about which ones I keep, and Arrow and Grimm are my favorites, so I'm not going to get rid of them. :)

*raises hand*
I only have Netflix. No cable, no Hulu, no anything.
Anyways...
What the hell does DPS have against snow days?! The roads were horrible, it is 16 DEGREES BELOW !@(!ING FREEZING, AND I HAD TO DRAG MY HEAVY REPLACEMENT TUBA (weighs at least 40 pounds) UP THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS!
ARRRGH!

In other news... Lyn, what episode are you on with Doctor Who?
