Languages:

Because this is a PbP, we have the opportunity to use neat scripts and that sort of thing for different languages. For this campaign, we will use those languages that can be found in Google Translate. When doing so, for audible speech, use the Latin-alphabet phonetic translation (typically found underneath the box in which the script translation appears) so that we can read what it sounds like. If, however, the conversation is telepathic, mental, or if the words are physically written down, use the language's own script, if it has something else (Arabic, the Cyrillic alphabet, etc.), which is usually found inside the translation box.

Taldan is the 'Common' trade tongue, pretty much everyone uses it, therefore we use English.

========================================================================

House Rules:
  • Dealing Minimum Damage: You can attempt to do minimum damage with your weapon by taking a -3 (vs -4 to turn it into nonlethal damage) penalty to your attack. If you succeed in hitting but only just (i.e. 'right on' the number you need to hit), you do your full standard damage; if you hit by more than that, you do your weapon's minimum damage. While this is usually 1 hp, in the case of a multi-die weapon (2d4, 2d6, etc.), it may be more. You may not add anything extras (strength or dexterity, sneak attack, precision, etc.) in order to increase your minimum; you will do (generally) 1-2 hp and that's all. (This is best used as a show of skill, nicking someone enough to draw blood but not do any real damage.)
  • Wild Shape: Druids will be familiar with all creatures of the type(s) they can wild shape into that exist within their home domain (that being defined on a standard 12-mile-hex area map of a five-hex diameter circle, or as close to it as is reasonable considering terrain, e.g. one side of a mountain rainge, with a maximum of 19 hexes); this includes subtypes that are in the area. . . . For creatures outside of their home range, they must make a KS: Nature roll with a DC equivalent to 10 + (Creature's CR) + (1 per 50 miles beyond the druid's home range) to know enough about the animal or plant creature to wild shape into it. If the druid has been familiarized with a creature despite it being well outside his home domain or the creature's natural range (e.g. a tiger in a sideshow, the druid's extensive traveling), familiarization being able to take at least three hours studying and interacting with the creature(s), he may add that creature to his 'familiarity list' for which no roll is required.

Sorry I know I said I would have them finished this weekend but it has been a crazy weekend. Family stuff on Saturday and The session I ran yesterday took over 10 hours. My people are some chatty monsters! I barely had time to check some of the games I am in.

I should have them done this week though. Again sorry! My life is madness at times. But the lose of a whole weekend is not a common thing for me.

Okay, I've updated the character pages with what's hopefully their final stages (aside from background inter-weaving), and made a note of where my skill ranks are going. I finally finished gearing up my followers, even!

Also, Wyrm Ouroboros, before now, I was planning on simply feigning the glowing arm by constantly having light prepared, and only using that on my hand. However, what would you say about instead pricing it as though it were a magic item and deducting that from my starting gold? The only thing is, going by the standard item pricing costs, having an at-will/continuous light spell would be 1,000 gp, which seems excessive. As it would be centered on one object (attached to my body), would it be better to use the price of an everburning torch (110 gp), ironically more expensive than an ioun torch (75 gp)? Considering these factors, would my hand (glowing at candle-intensity most of the time, but can, at will, or when using an ability) be somewhere in the realm of 100-150 gp?

I found a really neat way to visualize a character and get a picture.

Just design it, then hit the screenshot button.

Here is my pic of Myrza,

Suggestions for a better place to upload would be nice. And is there a way to put pics in our profiles?

Alrighty then! I somehow unlazied myself and managed to, hopefully, write a competent backstory. Not the most out there back story but hopefully not something that feels like you've read it a million times. Its in Williams alias.

TWO, would you allow my cohort to be a rogue with the Redemption story feat? As a rogue, he doesn't have class features to lose/regain, but the story I had in mind was that at some point in the past, at about the lowest point in his life, he in desperation takes an assassination job with my main character as the target. Kyras stopped him before he could complete the job, but then waived his right to justice in lieu of attempting to help him turn his life around. They have since become friends, but the rogue is still haunted by the fact that he almost killed such a good man for money, and seeks to try to redeem himself through service to him. I thought that perhaps the quest that the story feat mentioned might involve taking down the person who hired him. Still flushing out the details, but I like the core idea, and I wanted to see if it would work for you before proceeding.

Sovereign Court

You should look into a magic tattoo, those cost significantly less than an item, and are rather permanent. And there is always replacing a trait and using an ability similar to the aasimar halo ability.

Is it fine if I buy Ginks an outfit that looks like a dragon? He'll ware it everywhere and constantly refer to himself as "the little dragy". Just popped up in my head and I love it!

Draconillias- The problem with that is that, by RAW, it should cost around 2,000 gold, which seems slightly overpriced, considering the cost of comparable items. I would totally go with a tattoo otherwise- they fit quite well thematically. The issue with the trait idea (I had the same thought myself) is that the closest I could find for a human is Marked by Unknown Forces, which only allows for a 3/day use.

Thunderbeard - not a problem. And while the 'careful book-keeping' thing will likely fall by the wayside at least in regards to followers (since even the least devoted to leadership will wind up with over 20 followers by 10th level, and the most devoted will likely have over a hundred), it won't in regards to the PC or cohort(s).

Kain - Welcome. You have until the 18th, so no sweat. ("He's headstrong and daring, with good instincts. She's a booksmart aristocrat with a love of stories. Together, they fight crime!!") The thumbnail sketch sounds good to me, and regarding the Kingmaker you yourself are running, that should be fine - like I said, everything that takes place in a standard Kingmaker will occur here, but it may happen much faster, in a different way, and/or with different people taking part in different sections of the story.

Zayne - looking good so far. The 'Dear Lyda' letter is a tough read, but I'll slog through it.

DAA - Feel like I should be saying 'D'aaw'. ;) I have no problem with a delay/delays, since the cutoff is still almost two weeks away.

Daedulus/Darivan - looks good. Re: the arm thing, I'll look into it, but let me make sure I'm understanding it correctly. You are wanting light as an at-will ability, albeit with a drawback (i.e. it goes off when you do something, and is always at a minimal light level, e.g. candle-light), correct? If this is so, give me a bit of time to look into the matter; this is actually something I needed to look into for something else, so you get to be a test case for me. Muahahaha. I will not, however, permit the trait/ability thing unless provided with an actual standard trait available, such as the one you suggested.

Myrza - No offense, but while Hero Forge is great for creating character figures for a game, they kind of suck when it comes to imagery, due to lack of color. However, you can put a link to your image in your profile, though AFAIK there's no way to actually display an image.

Derpdidruid - will look.

Dwilhelmi - no, build as you are, I'll take the completed file. (Which shall, I presume, contain info for the PC, Cohort, and followers if you're building them out ... ;) ) About the Redemption story feat ... hm. While Redemption is possible, you might look into similarly-themed story feats - Vengeance, Shamed, Nemesis, Inerrant Justice, Betrayed. I'll consider it, however.

Draconillias / Ginks Gibbles - Right now, you can do anything you want.

Everyone:

First, regarding followers. Just to clarify, we are rounding when it comes to the 1/3 on the followers. If you have 5, you can give two of them PC classes; out of 8, 3 can have PC classes, etc. I would also appreciate a link to your cohort in your PC sheet, somewhere readily accessible (i.e. where I can see it when it loads up), and also a link back from the cohort to the PC, again readily accessible. Thanks.

Second, regarding reference links - please don't use Archives of Nethys if at all possible, especially when linking to a game function (e.g. feat, trait, skill use, etc.). The Archive is fine for thematic stuff (i.e. specific gods, location info, etc.) but I'd prefer game system references point to d20pfsrd. (Archive of Nethys is just an ugly site to use and nasty to read, at least IMNSHO. :P )

Third, when you finalize your character, please indicate that here in the thread. I'll begin eyeballing backgrounds, comparing them to character choices, offering critiques, and pointing out glaring flaws - such as the fact that a man looking to ensure his family's defense is not someone who throws himself into battle for the sake of personal glory. I will note that if you leave it like that, the background clashes with your character selections, it will count against you, and I will be 'snapshotting' the characters stated to be finalized on the 18th before going through and making a decision based off what they're like at that time. (So you still have most of 12 days to polish, revise, and/or completely change things.)

The Wyrm Ouroboros wrote:
Zayne - looking good so far. The 'Dear Lyda' letter is a tough read, but I'll slog through it.

Is that as bad as it sounds?

Yes, that's correct.
Well, mostly correct, anyway. It wouldn't have all the utility a light spell does (you can't give it to someone, can't throw it down a hole to test how deep it is, etc.), but it's still akin to an at-will light.
I mean, I didn't really think of the candle-light as so much of a drawback (thick gloves came to mind), but I could see how it could be construed as such. Overall, I like the idea of all his arcane energy pulsing through his arm, so it seemed like an RP-appropriate aspect to have it always glowing a bit, and just brighten when he actually harnesses his powers.
The entire thing was an RP idea (I like to make my characters with a concept in mind, then match the stats to that), as the functionality (Having a light whenever needed, and look really cool while casting and enhancing weapons) could be mostly duplicated by a 75 gp ioun stone or a cantrip slot. I just wouldn't look as awesome. And, lets be honest, that's what the game is all about ;).
So, to summarize, and note something I forgot to specify earlier:
The "eye" on his hand is always glowing slightly, maybe pulsing a bit.
When it flares, the 'eye' brightens, glowing blue lines appear on his arm, and his right eye turns completely blue and glows.
When he accesses his power (i.e. Arcane Pool, casting a spell, using Mythic Power, etc.), it flares.
He can also cause it to flare at will with a slight amount of mental exertion (standard action).

So I think I'm gonna pass on this. Have fun guys.

Jereru, take note.

Note taken. Now on to think where to spend these coins before you take your share xD

Just for my own clarity, my bow will cost me 5852g, thus taking up the 8k slot. I'll loose out on the 2148g that's the difference, correct?

Sovereign Court

Oh, wonderful, i created links on my pages for my own convenience and never thought about others when I did so, well now I can say done and done.

And I am totally doing that. I will simply make his outfit a costume and then buy a mask! It will be great, especially because I sort of flavored him as a fire breather anyways!

Zayne - It's just that it's all lumped together in one big paragraph. Don't worry, it's very thematic. (Of course, so is misspelling and ink-blots, but I'd better not see those crop up. ;) )

Ariael - Inasmuch as you can't 'add' that limit amount onto something else, yes. But you don't actually spend the money.

Darivan - trust me, when your entire arm is lit up, it's going to take more than just a thick glove to conceal it. This fact, however, including the flaring whenever you do something, makes it a disadvantage - something you can't suppress - which in turn will make it less expensive to do. It WILL be more expensive than the 'continual light' effect, however, but I don't think it'll be too much more expensive.

Draconillias - fair enough.

To everyone:
A couple of stray thoughts. First, having thought about this in the past few days, in regards to establishing long-term (i.e. forming a party) links between characters, I've decided that it's a bad idea. You can at the very least have encountered each other, perhaps worked together once or twice, but let's step back from creating firm groups. How about, when I've made my selections, I'll post groupings for everyone?

Second, from the closure of recruitment (when I make the 'characters in the recruitment' post of the completed characters) until I make my selections the following week, everyone who has finalized their character and is thus in the aforementioned post will be welcome to the RP and Discussion threads, to interact with each other about the 'last few hours before the heralds post the King's selections at noon'. At that point, we'll shift focus to the selected characters, and I will very absolutely positively thank anyone who hasn't gotten in. As a particular note, while posting will be a very good helpful indicator as to your future activity and style, it will not affect the recruitment selection. (Or at least I'll try not to let it.) The idea is for everyone to have some interactive fun without me needing to intercede, while I get busy in the background re/building everyone, checking characters, and making my decisions.

Also, there's a link up in the header to the Free City of Restov map over on DeviantArt. It even has a few things labeled. Feel free to comment and suggest more labelings. ;)

Does a mundane object count against the magic items limits? For example, does a spyglass (1000 gp) count as one of the "up to 1000" items? What about a special material? Is a Mithral Chain Shirt (1100 gp) an "up to 3000" item?

Sorry about my inquiries.

For the former, no. For the latter, yes.

All done, and added to the spreadsheet as well.

*Frantically re-reads for errors*

Hope I got them all. And yeah, I thought about putting paragraphs in but then remembered its a letter.

This is something of a hook for character development. There are mechanics for changing orders after all.

I suppose I oversold his devotion. He's a cocky ass in some sense but he is going to grow more responsible later on, order of the seal Perhaps.

While this is a fine hook for character development, it is only one if it's written that way, e.g. something to the effect of 'he wants to be dedicated to the protection of his family, but ...' I can read neither minds nor intentions; tell me what you're thinking and planning.

Fair point, I'll alter the story a little bit to provide more of a reason.

So... you wish to buy mithral pot do you? So expensive no-one else would buy it... and the only benifit is that it is easy to cook with...

So the opposite of Pathfinder rounding. Good. One more level 1 PC then.

I think I can say that, after much work, both Tomáš Dušek and his cohort, Father László are finished (they're also linked in the Recruitment Sheet).

I've included a slight fleshing out of Tomas' followers, a guide for the Dusek Sword development and a spoiler with all what I think is needed for the expedition to the Stolen Lands.

If there's anything wrong or missing and anyone happens to notice, a warning will be much appreciated.

How does this look for a Scaling Item? Pretty sure my math is right? Here's a link if anyone wants to check.

Treesinger's Cloak:
Prize; CL: 1

Details:

The wearer is under the effects of a permanent Endure Elements.

At level 7:
The cloak additionally acts as a Swarmbane Clasp

At level 10:
The cloak additionally acts as a Polymorphic Pouch

At level 12:
...acts as Longarm Bracers

At level 14:
...acts as Minor Ring of Energy Resist (Fire)

At level 16:
...acts as Bodywrap of Mighty Strikes: +1 Impact

At level 18:
...acts as Bracelets of Stone

At level 20:
...The Bodywrap of Mighty Strikes increases to +5 Impact

Okay, I see kind of how you're thinking now. I do see how it could be a disadvantage for a stealth caster (it's a good thing Darivan isn't much for sneak attacks).
Also, to clarify, I'm not envisioning his entire arm glowing, but rather lines traced out on his skin (think something along the lines of veins and arteries, showing the flow of magic as it travels through his arm). Also- just to clarify, would it give away my position while using invisibility? I hadn't imagined it as such, but I'm open to your interpretation too. Also, for long-term effects, I had imagined it being a bit brighter than normal while he's say, flying, but not full brightness, which would instead be when he activated the ability. That said, if you want it to glow bright the entire time, that's your call.

@Devious: It's not just about the math. It's up to the DM, but usually a scaling item is built around a specific theme, and your item doesn't seem to have any unifying concept to it. (Longarm + resist fire + polymorphic pouch?) More "shapeshifting-into-plant-themed" effects might be 1/day plant growth, or +Natural Armor, etc. If you just want to combine a bunch of items you like for your build, consider just buying those items.

Well now I'm glad I asked, because it seemed very "tree" to me. Branches growing longer, not catching on fire (something plants would appreciate I thought) and being able to reach in a hole in the trunk and grab some items all sort of fit my vision.

Dunno, maybe my vision isn't quite there for an item. Anyone else have thoughts?

Simply put, follow the build rules and keep to a theme. If you're going to include the abilities of an item in a different body slot, that item's 'add-on' build cost goes up. As well, the item's caster level is always either the minimum for the spell or your current level, whichever is higher. In addition, things increase by single points (+1 to +2 to +3), not multiple (+1 to +5).

Take a look at what is already out there.

Also, a review of what items carry a constant endure elements for under 4000 suggests that they'll usually applies to only one sort of element - heat, cold, high altitude, things like that. Realize that a 'constant' effect is significantly different than '1/day' casting, as the constant effect can be re-applied after getting dispelled, while the latter cannot. You want a cloak; you have to go for the constant effect.

I looked at the other ones, but none of them fit what I was going for with the cohort. I want the focus to be on the redemption arc more than the payback arc; the important thing is that he was essentially a bad guy (going with the Brigand trait to reflect that), but now he is trying to make up for that time in his life through service to Kyras. This is the thing that hooks him to Kyras, the why of him following Kyras around, as well as the driver behind his story feat.

Vengeance puts the focus too much on payback (the whole reason I mentioned taking out the guy who hired him was because Redemption says the quest must relate to the event that caused your disgrace), shamed seems to be themed around someone of high standing who lost that standing (not the case here, he was a nobody before), and nemesis, inerrant justice, and betrayed don't really fit the story here. If going for Redemption gives you heartburn, I can just as easily go for a different background entirely, as I have a few different stories in mind.

I hate losing posts. Anyhow.

Derivan -

Wearing a long-sleeved shirt, stick a 12-lumen pocket LED flashlight up your sleeve and turn it on; that's the effect you'd have, diffused but still there. With your entire arm bare, you'd turn a dark 5' radius area into dim light. The issue becomes in being spotted.

In a setting where there aren't many lights around (e.g. a 'dark' country on an overcast, moonless night) you can spot even a candle for miles if the situation is right; for a couple hundred feet, at the very least. While I'm looking at using the HERO System range penalties* for large-scale or long-range perception checks (considering that going by RAW perception rules you can't hear a full-on battle at 500' distance, and you can't see the Sun in a clear sky), your opponents would probably get a base +4 bonus to their visual PER checks to spot you unless you took measures.

Measures would amount to, oh, 15 gp worth of specialty clothing. A snug shoulder-to-wrist black silk sleeve that tied across your chest, worn under your regular clothing, plus a kid-leather gauntlet (glove that goes at least a couple inches past the edge of the aforementioned sleeve) would put paid to the penalty. It would simply add a different sort of 'distinctive feature' to your character when he's trying to conceal it.

And if you're spellcasting, you simply can't - not and be able to see and target properly, i.e. no wearing an eye patch. ;) The eye flares (at least a +8 bonus to opponents' visual PER checks) would only be concealable with something like glarecutter goggles; sorry, cool Auron shades won't work, because the light leaks out the sides. ;)

The issue lies in the 'how much is this going to cost me'. The closest magic item to this would be the sin runes; those suckers can get seriously expensive, as their base price is Spell Level * CL * 2000gp * 2 (for not taking up a slot), and most of them go seriously above that. Light being a cantrip (therefore a half-level Spell) ... it'd come in at 2,000gp.

There actually exists an item that allows for a cantrip to be used at will; hand of the mage, which allows mage hand at will, but takes up the neck slot.

Hm. I think that, with the disadvantages built into the situation ... 1500gp. And an admonishment from your master to stop playing with dangerous toys. ;)

For magics specifically designed to fully conceal your presence (e.g. invisibility), your eye will flare, but then the spell would overlay the flare. For mirror image, blur, etc. the flare will still be there, but not provide the opposition any particular enhancement. The only spell this would have a real effect on would be the disguise spells (disguise self, alter self), which would have a hard time compensating for the peculiarity. The person would still have a PER bonus, but it would be reduced, probably by half.

* - HERO System range penalties would start accounting for the difficulty of spotting major or highly unusual things at ranges beyond 20'. The range penalty would be a +2 penalty to the DC at 25'; for every doubling of the distance beyond that (50', 100', 200', 400', etc.) the DC would increase by another 2. This makes the DC to hear a major battle (several thousand people on a side, DC starts at -10) equal to 6 at a range of a mile (5280', at 6400' it goes up to +18), etc. Interposed obstacles, of course, also have a deleterious effect.

I recommend detaching some of the fluff ('themed around someone of high standing') from the essence of the various feats. Shamed impacts personal honor; poor people tend to be very strongly invested in personal honor, as it is just about the only thing they actually possess. However ... *ponders*

The thing that's been of concern to me is that it's an unlimited/day effect. On the other hand, having reviewed its penalty, I'm willing to allow it. Note a few things, just as an FYI:

First, you do not roll a Will save to resist the shaken effect; it's automatic as being the price that the character pays for (maybe) succeeding, that minute of panic at a too-close shave with failure.

Second, these effects stack. If within the 10 rounds following using the bonus, you use it again, the character becomes frightened, essentially backing out of the situation as quickly as s/he can manage it. If you do it yet again, s/he will become panicked, terrified at the prospect of having to attempt something that might be critical, because there may well be a chance of failure.

This is, all in all, a very, very serious (and very, very permanent) potential test of their will - to barely succeed at the risk of being useless for a minute afterwards ... forever after. Consider it carefully, because the 'shaken' part doesn't go away from that section of the Story Feat should the character complete it.

Everyone --

When you compose your background, you won't have 'just become' 7th level and have been gathering your followers. You and they need to have had time to settle in with each other, for them to be willing to follow you into winter's teeth at a month (or less) notice, so you should have been 7th for at least 3-4 months.

You should also be more than your class starting age. Here's a quick way of deciding a minimum age: 'Class starting age' + (Class Dice per level in months), +3 or 4 (that you've been 7th level).

Example wrote:

Coalhouse (half-orc) started out as a rogue - 14 + 1d4, rolled high, so he starts out at age 18. He has since gained 3 rogue levels (3 * 1d4) and 3 monk levels (3 * 2d6).

Months: 3d4 + 6d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) + (3, 2, 4, 3, 2, 1) = 22
22 months = almost 2 years. Add on 3-4 months, and his minimum age becomes 20 years 2 months. Coal will actually be a couple years older than that.

Feel free to be older. ;)

Sovereign Court

Draco is actually 30, and he began at the tender age of 16, His cohort however is much younger given his race and level.

Like I said, feel free to be older. That just gives you a decent (random) minimum age for your character(s), given their race, class, and level.

Understood, that makes sense to me.

About the length of time of having followers, are you OK with the idea of some of the followers being new recruits, within the last month? My idea was to have Kyras take the Dynasty Founder feat, and I basically wanted the increase in followers from that to be new recruits, specifically recruited to go settle in the stolen lands and try to reclaim the natural beauty of that place, and preserve it. So I would end up with some old-hand followers, and some newbies, which seems like it might have some good RP potential as well.

For the former, no. For the latter, yes.

Aww. That changes some things.

age minumum: 20 + 3d6 ⇒ 20 + (3, 5, 5) = 33years, plus age advancement: 6d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 6, 4, 6) + 4 = 30months
starting min age: 35 years, 6 months

So, I've been running prices of wagons... Ultimate Combat gives the price of wagons at around 100 gp each (since the Jade Regent wagons explicitly mention that they include horse costs). Is it okay to assume our followers can provide horses for wagons, or are our main characters shelling out for all of that?

thunderbeard wrote:

Do they? Apparently I need to go back in there and take a look at that again - can you tell me where that is? If that's true ... hm. *hunts* Ha!!

Land Vehicles wrote:
When you buy a new wagon by spending its cost in gp (this cost includes the horses needed to pull the wagon), add its hit points and capacity totals to your caravan’s total hit points and cargo and traveler capacities.

All right, that clarifies a LOT. A supply wagon (300 gp, traveler capacity 2, consumption 1, cargo capacity 10) would be a heavy wagon (100gp) plus a heavy horse (consumption 1, 200 gp). A wagon typically has two people on the seat (so traveler capacity 2), and can carry up to 4,000 lbs; 10 cargo therefore equals 400 lbs per point of cargo capacity, though of course bulky but light cargo may take up more 'weight space', e.g. cargo capacity, than its weight would normally indicate.

Everything else gets based off that.

A covered wagon's primary price is thus for the additional heavy horse (+200 gp, goes to 500 gp); the built-in benches and the 'ribbed cloth cover' is essentially a 'gimmie', as a standard wagon might well have that sort of thing too. So yay, no need to add the cost of two horses onto the cost of a covered wagon, 'cause they're already in there!!

To get back to the question, the best thing to do in this case, if you are getting into your characters' equipment, would be to equip yourself, equip your followers, and then place excess monies into a 'general equipment' pool out of which you can buy wagons, horses, housing, general food stores, camp cooking gear, etc.

Sheesh. At that price, could I just go with my starting plan of simply always having light prepared and just RP the glowing arm as part of the spell manifestations?
Interestingly, you can get a cracked orange prism ioun stone with any one cantrip loaded for 1,000 gp, and that allows you to use it as one of your known/prepared cantrips....

Also, age generation:
Minimum Starting Age: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 3) + 14 = 18
Months Older: 14d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 4, 2, 6, 3, 3, 6, 1, 6) + 3 = 55
Hmm. So, starting age of 18, plus 55 months puts us at 18+4 and a half. Okay. 22.5. A bit older than before, but I can live with that. I'll update the profiles now.

You could, yes. (It's the scolding, isn't it? I knew that was taking it too far. ;) )

The benefit of this, however, is simple: the only way this can be taken from you is to place you in a null-magic zone. A light cantrip? Gag you, or take away the material focus. An ioun stone? Pluck it away. This? There's no real, practical, casual way to do it. Cut off the arm and pluck out the eye, because otherwise it'll be there. Even then it still might be a faintly-glowing orb of light in your eye socket, or traceries where your 'ghost-arm' is, flaring into full light when you cast - or with a minor effort of will, whenever you want it to be there, as a spell-like ability.

Choice is up to you.

Bad / Good News
Bad news: one of the legacy players (Trawets Aarock and his cohort Bachu) had to withdraw, as he'd been insanely busy at work ever since this came active, with no end in sight. Silver lining: there are now up to 12 openings.

Somewhat, but having to reshuffle all my gold was a bit more pressing. True enough with the no way to get rid of it, though. I hadn't fully thought of that. As is, I feel like I'd have slightly more... pressing... concerns if I had my arm cut off....

Hmmm, going to have to reshuffle my GP and caravan equipment to cover the unexpected increase in cargo capacity and available funds.

Okay! Think I got equipment figured out. Giving one wagon each to my main and cohort, with about 100 gp of "per character" basic equipment (going to all followers and PCs) and then another 100 gp contributed by each character to a "per wagon" list of stuff.

How many days of animal/people feed should I be purchasing? I'm currently going with around 40, but do I need more?

40 should be fine.

dwilhelmi - that sounds like a good RP plan; run with it.

Oy, that was a slog. I've finished Anton Rabinoff and maaaan was it a lot of bookkeeping/item lookups, but at least the Rabinoff men will be camping in style. Cohort will be finished... eventually.

Now, to see what I've done wrong!

So I found an errata about the maneuvers I am wanting. It was on the agile maneuvers feat. I can apply my dexterity to my CMB for the tripping and disarming so long as I use a finessable weapon. I am wondering if I should save the feat or take the feat so that I can trip and disarm foes whenever I want.

I also found this feat and I really like it. I would be taking it for the combat scabbard. This is not something I am familiar with but I love the idea of. Are there any suggestions for making this a viable and fun option beyond taking that feat?

@Deaths: The big problem with the combat scabbard tricks is that there's almost no way to benefit from more than one of them. The fact that you can't TWF a scabbard too effectively makes Capture Weapon tricky, Hurl Scabbard is only once/fight, and you're unlikely to qualify or find a use for the rest. Personally, Shield Tricks are my favorite, but they only work well with a few specific builds.

You may also want to check out Weapon Trick. Stylish Riposte is a neat trick for a sword-fighter (and one I'm building to); Polearm Tricks let you build a very defensive pole-and-board reach fighter; etc. There's also Armor Trick, but it's not amazing.

@GM: I see a "Player NPC Tracking Sheet." Did I miss something—are we supposed to be describing our followers there? And if so, what are we putting for ranking/size?

Instead of the combat scabbard, get this version, which doesn't suffer the improvised penalties.

Then enchant it as a thrown weapon, and use the hurl scabbard trick to dish out unexpected hurt. The returning weapon ability, or a blinkback belt, will let you boomerang it quite nicely. Add this feat--possibly this one if you feel like investing the required prerequisites--to wring a little more utility out of your surprise projectile.
