I think 5 is fine, now that we are a little more hardened by the reality of the situation. It been a hard evolution, but I like how the group has played up its 'towny' nature but has been exposed to the grim realities that turn them into adventurers.

Wait one moment. Dorin's doing a special plea to robin on the IC thread to get a Raise Dead for Ameiko. She's a very important NPC to him. So he's going to need a 5,000-gp diamond or the scroll to do Raise Dead. Our haul comes out to 4,815 gp, pretty close. I just need everyone to donate their part of the haul to raising Ameiko.
This okay with everyone?
(Cricket sounds ensue.)
Uh, guys? Major NPC here. Let's not let her stay dead. Who's going to run The Rusty Dragon? Dorin would be arguing the same for any of you!

Uhm. Sorry. With all love that Kast can muster, he will politely tell Dorin that the dead should stay dead.
When Kast dies and can't afford his own raising, please keep him dead.

Everyone else, Sorry about my absence. We had a snow storm and lost power for several days.
I'm fine donating money to the wand of CLW or to Ameiko's resurrection.
I'd guess that Malcolm or Kast should carry the wand, right? They can use it without Use Magic Device checks?
I'll got catch up on the in character thread now.

I'll agree to help purchase a wand. Kast, please re-calculate the loot with Dorin's 110% for the stuff like robin authorized.
Dorin needs to buy new stuff, since we're not raising Ameiko.
Dorin has a +9 to UMD, and it is one of the skills he's going to be adding onto until he has a +17 or so. Dorin's also going to be switching to Summon Monster next level.
robin, is it possible to have someone hold the Rusty Dragon "in trust" for several months while we do this game? Dorin now has several "retirement" goals:
1.) Resurrect Ameiko in the future
2.) Kill every goblin within a 100-mile radius of Sandpoint

| robin |
You had to ask Mayor Deverin for what will happen ...
The Rusty Dragon will stay open for a few days to have his stores emptied and then will be closed while the search for an heir is done . Mayor Deverin will tell you that Ameiko did make a will some years back but that she did gave everything she had to Tsuto so the will is invalid .

Oh good, Gar-math. Much better than my math.
Duly noted. I'll have a shopping list up sometime today.
robin, Sandpoint, as far as I know, has about 1200 inhabitants, making it a Small Town, which leads me to believe that we can find items up to 1000gp in value pretty easily.
I'm going to base my shopping decisions off that.

Thanks, Gar. Dorin will buy that light crossbow back, as well as two ordinary crossbow bolt boxes.
crossbow, light (35 gp)
bolts, crossbow (10) (1 gp)
bolts, crossbow (10) (1 gp)
backpack, masterwork (APG) (50 gp)
3.42 gp + 725.4 - 87 = 641.82 gp
Dorin needs to know if he has to carry everything on him now, robin, or if he can leave some stuff behind. At the cathedral, maybe. Dorin will also start his "Raise Ameiko" fund with the leftover gold.

No point in rolling his AoO given Gar's roll ...
No roll to make for the monster. My roll is compared to the monster's CMD for a success or fail.
It works the same for Tripping, bullrush and the other maneuvers. CMD is a static target that the attacker tries to beat with a roll plus the Combat Maneuver Bonus.
Very different than 3.5 with its opposed rolls. Pathfinder streamlined all that to speed up the game.
:-)

            Are you quite well, Dorin?
Chalk it up to finally getting to beat something that's not a killer monster, robin. Yes, they're in the pits and helpless as undead. But Dorin needs some stress relief after losing Ameiko.
This place is also not making much sense, so getting rid of a potential problem like zombies making their way to the Glassworks and town above is something Dorin can do.

Needed for that Scroll of Remove Disease (750 gp)?
Gar kept the axe.
Kast kept the +1 longsword.
Dorin kept the silvered dagger.
Dorin selling from tunnels under the Glassworks: (Using Favored Son Trait for 110%)
Wand of Shocking Grasp (28 charges - 420 gp / 2 = 210 gp + 21 gp = 221 gp)
bottle of wine - if not stolen, 10 gp?
strange book - unknown
Scroll of Burning Hands (3rd Level - 375 gp / 2 = 187.5 + 18.75 gp = 206.25 gp).
Wand + Scroll = 427.25 / 5 = 85.45 each
Dorin had 641.82 gp before, add above for 727.27 gp. The Scroll of Remove Disease was 750 gp, or 150 gp each. Dorin will gladly pay his share.
So everybody mark off 150 gp and the Scroll of Remove Disease is paid for.
Shopping: none yet for Dorin, he still has 14 crossbow bolts. All he needs is a replacement torch. 577.26 gp total for Dorin's spare change.

I'm using the SRD. "The price of a scroll is equal to the level of the spell × the creator's caster level × 25 gp." So 3x5x25=375, you're right. I must have 2x in my head, misreading it as creation cost vs. buying cost.
So instead of 150 gp each, we'll need to pay 75 gp each.
--------------------
Robin: you said Dorin can stay in the Rusty Dragon. I don't want Dorin throwing out the maid and cooks, which do have an entry in some of the online Sandpoint wikis. (Bethana Corwin, for instance) Is there any way Dorin can pay the staff to keep the Rusty Dragon running? If a Good Inn stay (per day) is 2 gp per day, how much would it cost? Can Dorin hire someone in town to keep the Rusty Dragon going, since he's an adventurer?
Trying to keep the Rusty Dragon Inn running for Ameiko's return, enhance our ties to Sandpoint, and yet allow Dorin to keep adventuring!

looks like wand and scroll garner 85.45 gp each and the Cure scroll costs 75 gp each. Leaving a whopping 10.45 gp profit each. Good thing Gar has a day job.

Sorry, Malc.
Is this something you can't do?

Ok , I'm quite concerned there. Can you tell me what are your expectations about this campaign ?
So far , I am under the impression that each time I ask you what you want to do , the game bog down and I have to have to let the NPC to tell you where to go
So what do you want :
a) A slugfest
b) Try to discover what is going on by yourselves
c) Let the NPCs tell you where to fight
I will accomomdate you whatever the case but I need to know to avoid wasting time
Thank you for your reply

From my point of view, the bog down is caused by typical group dynamics--5 people trying to make collaborative decision while trying to be open and inclusive of everyone.
I think it's just part of the PbP game that you need to push us along once in a while, robin. It's hard for us (especially because we're not face to face) to make decisions.
That said, if you wanted to make it go faster, having an NPC lay out options for us is helpful.
In terms of the game I want, I like running as close to the AP as possible, but don't mind if you make changes.
We can also start pushing more and keep the story moving.

I am always pushing for action, but I do not see this PbP bogging down any more than others I am involved in. Limited options posed by NPCs will always be welcome and seem to move things along nicely.

I'm trying to be as in-character as possible, robin. Only Malcolm has shown any leadership here. We're reacting to the goblins and such as best we can - I don't think we've seen the bigger picture yet. If you want the Sheriff to tell us to go to Thistletop, fine. Dorin's suggesting it himself. Yes, we're taking forever to get there.
I actually don't see us bogged down. This is more like a book or a movie, with a slow lag, but not as rushed as a tabletop game where we all metagame to the next battle.
Prodding the players can be frustrating if the GM is trying to do it with subtlety! :) It's hard to push players without being heavy-handed.
Of course, Malcolm's little "I want a statue" speech didn't help matters. :) Ah, motivations and goals!
