Vorel Mas |
Are we talking about Vorel, I thought that Tika would still make the ride check, it was just only made possible for her to Swift Mount because Vorel gave up his Standard action to assist her on it. Otherwise Manuk is too big of a Mount for her to Swift Mount.

I thought you were giving up your standard action to lift her onto Manuk. Let's just go with that. Your Fly check is plenty.
Vorel flies across the room and lifts Tika back into the saddle on Manuk.

Tika will delay until after Omar as moved out of the way, if that is possible. . .and then take the following turn
Seeing Vorel fly over and understanding what he is trying to do, Tika will try to fast mount with his aid, Manuk is such a fat bird he can be hard to mount normally in the middle of combat.
Spurring Manuk into a charge, maintaining their rage, Tika will challenge the big mean tree, "For the glory of the Pathfinder Society!"

Omar Senay |
Omar steps back and to the side, making room for any who want to get past.
"Thank you Ninya, for drawing it's attention away from me. Now let's see if we can't end this haunt!"
He casts a spell and touches the ground. An explosion of positive energy flows from his hand.
Spontaneous convert Good Hope to Cure Critical Wounds: 4d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 6, 6, 4) + 7 = 31
I assume I don't need a melee touch attack for the ground...
"Now to help us survive this fight!"
Seeing that the haunt is still active, Omar channels healing energy. The burst reaches everyone except Narris and his two mercenaries.
One charge lane cleared!

END COMBAT
Omar's spell ended the encounter.
There is an implosion as the magical energy animating them is sucked back to the Ethereal Plane. The tree reverts back to its mundane form, and the shambling mound reverts to a pile of various produce.
Zeeva runs out from hiding, ”Oh! Is everyone ok? That was strange! Did you hear the voices? Do you know what they said?” She then translates for you. ”They were all speaking Shoanti, the language of the tribal people who have inhabited Varisia for generations. The first one said, 'This is Shoanti land!' The second warned, 'You will bring no war here!' The third voice promised vengeance for his people.”
She then uses her healing hex on everyone who is hurt (except Omar, who she healed earlier).

She ponders for a moment and adds, ”Maybe you should seek out Telmayne Fire-Eyes. She is a Shoanti shaman who frequents the Green Market for herbs and other supplies.”
Feel free to ask her more questions.
Meanwhile, Narris Devane says, ”Please release me and my men. We just wanted to put pressure on Miss Foxglove to sell to the Aspis Consortium. We didn't want anyone to get hurt. Besides, we definitely don't want to get involved in a market that is cursed! Please, if you let us go and don't involve the city guard, we will give you payment for your trouble—how about our gear that we have with us? Is that fair?”
Zeeva touches Zahra on her arm, ”Yes, there is no need to involve the guard. It wouldn't be good for business to get them involved. Besides, I would prefer to solve this in such a way that the Aspis won't be coming to look for revenge down the road. What do you say?”

"Yeah, we'll help clean up! Won't we boys?" He looks at the two hired thugs. They both nod and start picking up vegetables.

So this is what the Fox says? :P
Zahra trusts her instincts that Narris is telling her the truth. Mildly amused that he started picking up her accent, she hands him the broom. "No badge? That means that you're not far in the organization yet." She doesn't like that he tried to kill her cat. She doesn't like that he put pressure on Miss Zeeva. On the other hand, he and his men did try to fight non-lethally. She'd heard of Aspis that were primarily merchants rather than the fully evil conspiracy that she'd grown to know and loathe. "Have you all thought of a different form of employment? Something better than shaking down merchants making a gainful living? Instead of doing shakedowns, you could join the Pathfinders and use your talents in a more meaningful vay."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

I will have more questions for Miss Zeeva, but don't want to monopolize the conversation with walls 'o text.
GM "The Fox" |
"Oh, I'd be happy to join the Pathfinders. Do they pay well? I mean—I'd be happy to join." Zahra has successfully recruited Narris Devane into the Grand Lodge.
Searching through the mess, and with various Spellcraft checks, the Pathfinders find a potion of speak with plants, 2 potions of resist energy ( fire), a potion of tree shape, and a potion of rage, as well as three shambler vines (Zahra knows what these are) from the pair of shambling mounds.
A branch from the former quickwood can be cut and trimmed to serve as +1 ghost touch/mwk quarterstaff. (One end is +1 ghost touch; the other is masterwork.)
Twenty oak leaves can be collected from the fallen tree that have transformed to platinum and are worth 100 gp each as exotic art objects.
Aura strong transmutation; CL 12th
Slot —; Price 600 gp; Weight 1 lb.
A shambler vine resembles a leafy green plant vine about 6 feet long, wrapped in a coil. If touched, it writhes as if alive. Up to three vines can be stored in a small sack, though the price is for one. When thrown at an opponent, a vine grows in midair, and acts as a rope of entanglement. It can reach 20 feet forward or 10 feet upward to entangle the target. The entangled target can break free with a DC 20 Strength check or DC 20 Escape Artist check.
A shambler vine has AC 22, 12 hit points, hardness 10, and damage reduction 10/slashing. It does not repair itself, and if it is severed (all 12 hit points lost to damage), it is destroyed. The vine lasts for a single use before withering away, and if left on a target that is unable to get free, the vine withers after 1 hour.

GM "The Fox" |
It is a hot summer day as you march off to the Skaldwood. The coastal humidity of southern Varisia is stifling without the off-shore breeze as you move farther from Conqueror’s Bay. Worse, though, are the mosquitos and their ravenous appetites.
Following Zeeva's directions, you make your way through the network of trails that lead deep into the Skaldwood, closer and closer to the Shoanti camps. Forest birds, seemingly unaffected by the heat and feasting on the many active insects, sing wistful tunes.
Suddenly, a pair of men—Shoanti warriors—step out from behind two large trees into the path before you. One of them holds up a hand and says, ”Atal! Enwch eich hunain. Beth yw eich pwrpas yn y goedwig Shoanti?”
If you use comprehend languages, let me know. The man will repeat himself in that case.
GM "The Fox" |
Oops. I forgot to answer Ninya's questions.
The Shoanti are the collective native tribes of Varisia. They were pushed out by Chelaxian settlers centuries ago. There still exists a bitter hatred among many members of both groups. As a result, the Shoanti are very suspicious of outsiders, and quick to anger at trespassers. They are a shamanistic people who venerate Empyreal Lords as well as ancestors.
Ninya knows about the Skaldwood. The Skaldwood is a sacred forest to the Shoanti. Outsiders rarely venture very far into the forest. She does know the trails to the Shoanti camp—she grew up in Korvosa.
Also, she should have plenty of time to prepare another mutagen, given the shopping that everyone is doing.
Zahra Senay |
Zahra holds up a hand, smiles and points to her ears before she uses her wand of comprehend languages on herself.
When he repeats himself, she points to herself. "Zahra." She then points to her husband, smiles and says, "Omar." She then names everyone else in the group including Pumpkin and Manuk.
Then she speaks in common, and points to his ears with her hand, and then points to the wand, raising her eyebrows questioningly. "This vill help us understand each other. Vould you like me to use it on you?"
Zahra is trying to be completely non-threatening here. She will also cast charges of it on Omar and anyone else in the group who asks her to do so.
GM "The Fox" |
You cannot use comprehend languages on another character. It is a personal spell. They cannot use it, because they are warriors without ranks in UMD. :(
Ninya, Ranar, and Vorel can all use your wand if you want, because it is on their spell lists.
