Hey guys: any recommendations for cleric gear? I'm well into level 2 now and I haven't bought a thing past my initial 150gp gear I think...

For a start, I'd recommend better armor and any scrolls you might want to keep on hand for odd situations. A Cloak of Resistance +1 is also pretty much standard fare. It's kinda tough at lower levels to really get anything all that exciting, but one my other characters is a cleric, and I'm saving up for a Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend Spell, or whatever the actual name is. Basically just something to make the buffs last longer.

I agree on armor and scrolls. A level 1 Pearl of Power can also be good.
The nice thing about Berato's Protection domain is it frees up the cloak slot for something different, like a Cloak of the Hedge Wizard.

I've lost Internet services until late Tuesday so I'm going to be quiet for a while, I'll jump in with stuff until I can get back online.

Godsmouth Heresy is low on roleplay and pretty much a straight up dungeon crawl... the intent is to bring different characters (level 1 or 2) as I don't want to mix and confuse and interfere with the Teamwork Experiment...

I'm posting this out of turn free action here so that I don't mess up the battle order of the gameplay thread...

Under his breath, barely above a whisper, Berato tells his friends, "This is a killing field, and they have the advantage; let us retreat into the entrance so as to force them against us two-by-two; the guards will provide soft cover against the thug's ranged attacks and we will maintain our shield wall at all times; one of you should bluff and say that we're overwhelmed and retreating..."

I finally added my mount to my profile. I guess I didn't realize it was an animal companion - I was just referring to standard bestiary wolf entry before.

I took Dodge for it, figuring mobility and spring attack would work best long term for charging. But if anyone has better suggestions...

Silver Crusade

Male LG Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 10 (Torag) - Init +1, Senses: Normal Vision, Perception +25, AC 23/ touch 12/ ff 22; hp 63/63 (1/day converts bonus dmg from crit into nonlethal dmg), F+11, R+7, W+16, Speed 30 ft. you can't charge and spring attack - I highly recommend the wheeling charge feat for you instead

Wheeling Charge:

Prerequisites: Mounted Combat, Ride-By Attack, Ride 5 ranks.

Benefit: When you are mounted and use the charge action, your mount can make one turn of up to 90 degrees as part of the move, as long as each part of the move is at least 10 feet. You may make an attack during any part of this move. Your total movement for the round can’t exceed double your mounted speed. Allied creatures do not impede your charge, though you cannot attack from or end your move in an ally’s space.

Normal: You cannot turn when making a charge.

When you get Ride-By Attack, you won't provoke AOOs from your charge target. So don't worry about that.

Ride-By, Spirited Charge, and Wheeling Charge make a great combo, but the last requires you have spent a lot of time in Lastwall.

I have a PFS Cav13 (human on a horse). Great class. Toughness, Iron Will, Sure Footed, and a few others are good for a mount. If you boost its Int at 4 HD (btw it should be at 3 HD now so 2 feats) it can take many more feats, like Nimble Moves or whatever teamwork feats you take. Dodge isn't great because you can negate some attacks with Mounted Combat. Weapon Focus is always good.

The other thing I would suggest is retraining your teamwork feat. Maybe something others have, or something good to share like Escape Route? I don't know when you'll ever get the chance to share Cavalry Formation in this party.

That last fight was kind of frustrating at first but then it was cool to see our defensive tactics pay off. Still, Anthys will pick up some items to boost his offense (like a potion of Bull's Strength).

Great. Anthys will spend the 2 PP on a scroll with 5 castings of Invisibility. That is on Vindlér's spell list, and in PFS there is no difference for arcane vs divine scrolls, I believe. If we don't use it now it will always be a handy thing to have. He'll also buy an Elixir of Hiding (250 gp) as Berato suggested.

For all the infiltration aspects of the next one he'll focus on standing near Marcus and giving him +2 to skill checks.

Aye Cap'n.

As far as botting goes in general, how many days do you guys want to go before getting botted? 1 day? 3? Use of consumables? Tactics? Will probably come up with how long I expect we'll be playing.

In the other games I am in, I posted tactics for botting. I didn't here because I figure the group knows my tactics pretty well. Generally if your turn has been up for 24 hrs I would say botting is in order, but could be 48.

Shield Wall up front and Longsword attacks. Remember that Anthys also has Heart of the Streets.
Tactician for Shake it Off if facing a tough foe that is forcing a lot of saves.
Use of consumables at group discretion; he's not a greedy sort.

And, for skillmonkey stuff, stand near Marcus to be the walking Aid Another. Next level he'll be able to do actual Aid Another checks on anything, in addition to providing the teamwork feat bonus.

Me too - Qioté has pretty straightforward tactics (in fact, I think some of the others know my capabilities better than I do yet!)

As far as timing, I think it varies on the pace of the game, but if I am ever holding up the group, feel free to bot me. I think generally 24 hours from the post to respond to is easily fair game, no need to wait longer. 24 hours since my last post generally isn't, because I find sometimes I check back two or three times and have no action, and then later find out I was only a few minutes too early. In general, though, I am pretty laid back and don't get offended if others want to move forward.

Consumables, I say have at them. Unless you are getting into really expensive items, but otherwise I say use 'em up!

Agreed. 24hrs is definitely a reasonable time to implement botting. Vindlér is a lot like Anthys is terms of basic combat strategy. Shield Wall and swing away with the morningstar. If we're getting into a really tough combat or a boss fight, pull out the Judgment ability, usually going for Justice (+1 to attack) or Destruction (+1 damage). Feel free to use the Lend Judgment spell too to share the awesomeness around for a couple rounds. Consumables are pretty much free game, though I'm not always great at stocking up on anything all that useful.

As for this scenario, I'm expecting this to be a tough one on the infiltration side. Vindlér is definitely not a "face". Hopefully someone else can pick up the slack there.

I am ok with botting after 24 hours from when my turn is up. Marcus is generally going to try to stay off the front lines, but until he gets the ability to do ranged aid another checks, he is probably most effective trying to stick close behind Anthys for Scion and healing with a Cure Light Wounds wand.

Purchases:
Elixir of Hiding - 250gp
Scrolls:
2nd level: (CL 3)
- lesser restoration - 150gp
1st level: (CL 1 - all spells with duration are at 1min)
- cure light wounds - 25gp
- protection from evil - 25gp
- obscuring mist - 25gp
- magic weapon - 25gp
- ironbeard - 25gp

Berato highly recommends that the party buys some of the above scrolls as well. Basically, scrolls are cheaper than potions, and Berato will carry those for you and cast them upon request (noticed that he had a lot of Touch of Good rounds last time? i.e. Berato will improve your action economy by casting these for you).

So I see Qioté is out for the next one, which is too bad but understandable (I thought I had a lot of campaigns!).

I don't know what Vindlér thinks, but I'd be okay with taking slow track for this scenario, staying at L2 to match Berato and Marcus, picking up another L2 PC, and running through a 1-2 module. One I haven't played at L2, so really anything but Everflame (just barely made it through at L2 with Berato running - he had crazy hot dice!). Thornkeep, maybe? I understand that one is supposed to be tough.

Or we take full XP and do a 1-3 module or a 1-5 scenario.

Right now the other table is running through Risen From the Sands [2-4], but I don't know who has that available to play at this table.

I thought all 1-2 modules were evergreen, yes?

From Anthys' list I've only played these:

Crypt of the Everflame* (GMed it)
Emerald Spire Level 2* (played it)
Godsmouth Heresy* (GMed it twice - used a GM replay in Season 8)

I would *really* love Emerald Spire Level 1 applied to Berato... since I played Emerald Level 2, I could GM it, then resume playing with Berato at Emerald Level 3+. Our only problem is that we'd really need a rogue for this (not sure if Marcus will get Trap Spotter or something equivalent). Berato will continue the cleric progression so healing is covered. Not sure how we're doing on arcane and large biceps though... typical dungeon crawls need a good mix of brawn, healing, arcane and trapspotting.

If that's something we want to do, here's the list of all the Emerald Levels and their corresponding PC level range:

Level 1: The Tower Ruins 1–2
Level 2: The Cellars 1–3
Level 3: Splinterden 2–4
Level 4: Godhome 3–5*
Level 5: The Drowned Level 3–5*
Level 6: The Clockwork Maze 4–6
Level 7: Shrine of the Awakener 5–7
Level 8: The Circle of Vissk-Thar 6–8
Level 9: The Spire Axis 7–9
Level 10: The Magma Vault 8–10*
Level 11: The Tomb of Yarrix 8–10*
Level 12: The Automaton Forge 9–11*
Level 13: The Pleasure Gardens 9–11*
Level 14: The Throne of Azlant 10–12*
Level 15: Order and Chaos 10–12*
Level 16: The Emerald Root 11–13

I don't think I want to commit to just Emerald Spire long-term with this group. I could do Level 1, though. A scroll of Find Traps works for trap spotting.

My reasons:
1) I've done two levels of Emerald Spire with another PC (Aroden Reincarnated) and want to apply higher levels to him;
2) I've actually really enjoyed this group's engagement with the world, the Society, and even the political intrigue (despite Anthys's grumbling about Cheliax). Dungeon crawls are fine to mix in, but I don't want to just do them.
