Fair enough. I applied Emerald Level 2 to a 3rd level PC that is now 5th level... I'd really like to play more Emerald to unlock the free Country Estate... :)

I could play that 5th level PC (Ratfold Unchained Rogue Trap Spotter talent) for Emerald Level 4 and onward though... so keep me informed if you're aware of a table happening somewhere... :)

Oh! Forgot to do my day job!

Vindlér is glad to return to the relative peace of Absalom and to his straightforward duties as a sentinel on the walls of the Grand Lodge.

Thanks for the chronicle! Great game!

I've heard good things about Honor's Echo (some roleplay in the Court of Taldor and trips to Andoran and Qadira). It's 6 short quests but I heard that if you play all 6, you get 1 xp and 2 PP with 500gp (so it's comparable to other 1st level adventures effectively, as far as I understand).

However, it must be played by 1st level PCs only. I don't mind taking a break from Berato and use my STR-based 1st level bard on this one, if you'd all be willing to try this.

As of Season 6 (I think) adventures are balanced for 6 players, and I think a GM must tone down the adventure for a party of 4 (correct me if I'm wrong). I heard Honor's Echo can be tough but we all know that GMs should seek to challenge and not kill... LOL

Chronicle looks good! Thanks for another great game, Fez!

I'd be more inclined to keep playing with Vindlér, just to keep the teamwork feats involved. I also played through Honors Echo in Core recently and had a pretty rough go of it, though I think that was largely due to group dynamics rather than the content of the adventure.

As for preferences, I'm pretty wide open in earlier season stuff and modules.

Season 4 was where the 6 player assumption was made. And that season is notorious for the 4 player adjustment growing pains... Anyways, I'll keep that in mind when we start the next scenario.

I was hoping to get a slow-track chronicle for Anthys so he would be at 5.5 XP and therefore still at Level 2; this would let us do Thornkeep 1, Emerald Spire 1, or some other 1-2 module. Finishing that we'd all be L3.

If he and Vindlér take normal-track chronicle sheets, they are at level 3. For a party of 2 2's and 2 3's, I guess a 1-5 scenario?

If you two want to slow track this I can do that and fix it tonight. Then after everyone hits 3, we can do the 3-7 evergreen.

Oh yeah! Sorry, forgot about that. Let's do the slow track so we can all be on the same page.

Silver Crusade

Teamwrk buffs: lastwall ph +1 sac AC+saves/ally, shld wll +2 AC, Scion +2 atk/saves/skills

The only other problem I see with the chronicle is that you checked the 'Core Campaign' box, which I believe was unintentional (otherwise there's not much of a teamwork feat experiment! LOL)

I'm ok putting an 'X' on that box though, if it's too much of a pain to redo all the sheets. I could simply print your post and attach it to the back of the chronicle too...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So that box is always black in the PDFs and I can't change or select it normally. I'm always reporting it as standard rather than Core though.

I have no preference, just want to know what you guys want to play.

I don't know much about Thornkeep but have heard it's good but tough.

I liked Emerald Spire. There are some frustrating environmental effects but IIRC we can leave and resupply to deal with them.

Just did Godsmouth Heresy at L1. Would do it again.

Don't know much about Murder's Mark or Gallows of Madness.

My preference is one I haven't done, but I could do Emerald Spire or Godsmouth Heresy and keep player knowledge separate.

Would Murder's Mark work for everyone?

Works for me!

However, I'd like to toot my own horn for a second here and would like to run Honor's Echo for you all. Interested? (i.e. you pick a 1st level character and you have to run all quests in a row with no interruption)

Murder's Mark works for me!

@Berato: sure, happy to give the quests a try. I don't have a level 1 at the moment so would be making a brand new one. Will think about what I'd like to do. Would this be in Standard or Core?

Silver Crusade

Standard, always. I've never played Core and don't intend to.

Disclaimer: I'm only doing this if Vindler, GM Fez and Marcus are also joining. I'm a fairly lenient GM in my tactics (I usually take into account the monsters' Int and Wis, so don't be surprised if the fairly dumb critters will sometimes do dumb stuff).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Honor's Echo had to be played with pregens. Did that change recently? The reason I ask is because I played through it in Core earlier this year and got the impression that it had to be played with Core pregens. If that's not the case, then I'd be glad to play. Do the characters have to be brand new? I've got a character with 2xp that would be awesome for this quest.

My experience so far: (1st level pregen)

Cleric is a solid pregen.
Fighter is ok.
Wizard is ok.
Psychic is ok.
Rogue not so much.
Spiritualist is horrible.

For the others you'll have to check.

Even better! I've got a lvl 1 Tempered Champion Paladin that would be great for this!

Also, just to chip in on the pregen discussion, I played as Ezren (wizard) when I played Honor's Echo and had a lot of fun. It was a nice opportunity to play a straight INT caster. Definitely not my typical play style.

I'm game. Do we want to run them concurrent or one at a time?

I don't have a level 1 right now, so I'd probably play whatever is needed and take advantage of the Level 1 rebuild.

No downsides to being a part, just a little extra work on my end for reporting. I think Honor's Echo can be played normally, but I'm not 100% sure. Check out the link here. I would, but my work computer blocks access to the site because of the word 'game'.

I'm not sure if its true for each individual quest, but with regular tables at the end of the session everyone rolls a d20. On a 19 or 20 you've won a boon and roll 1d4 to see what it is. I think it's true for the completion of all the quests, but I would ask Hillary to be sure.

@Marcus: I have advertised the game publicly on the flaxseed lodge recruitment thread, so I would advise that you go dot the Honor's Echo thread sooner than later (if your stats are not complete that's fine - just put a note that they will be ready before Monday; at least you will have a good idea of current party composition as the other three players here have completed stats and dotted already). I will only take 2 additional players but I'd like the four of you to be dotted already before I roll in the new players, if possible. Thanks!

This has been a pretty busy weekend for me; I ended up with a surprise trip that took a lot of time, and am visiting family until late tomorrow night. I should be able to get Marcus leveled up with his paperwork done some time Monday, when I'll get my new PC built as well. I'll go get an Alias set up and dot in tonight though.

Alright, I got Marcus leveled up! He took a level of Drill Sergeant, got some shiny mithril armor and a nice shield. I decided to take shield wall this level, and quick draw next level, so he should be rather durable.

GM Fez, I realized that I have unfortunately not been nearly as up to date on Marcus' paperwork as I should have been, and seem to not have downloaded his first two chronicles as I though I did. Do you still have those somewhere? I got my hands on blank chronicle sheets to reconstruct how much gold I am supposed to have, but would like to get my papers in order if I can.

I'll be able to get those to you some time tonight.
