Then again, Lona could just ask Lym to study an extra Mage Armor a day for her use. ;) That or, y'know, buy her a Pearl of Power for the same pupose.
Lym Blackhand |
HP will be half max plus one.
Half max plus one... plus Constitution modifier? ^^;

Lona tries the ring and the earrings on herself, and decides they match her outfit well enough.
Come morning (assuming the evening goes uneventfully), Lona greets Lym as she joins the group. She hands Lym the ring to play with while whispering to her, "I'm so glad you're here. Frankly, that Praxim is driving me a little batty with his nice guy attitude."
Then, louder to the group with a smile, "so, are we ready for a bit of exploration today?"
What about the other stuff? Aren't we going to divvy up the loot?

Of course, you and I don't KNOW about the loot yet. When the others join us, they could theoretically choose to keep some or all of it a secret.
That said, if anyone DOES tell us about the loot, is there anyone besides myself who is interested in the composite shortbow?
Lym Blackhand |
One Knowledge (Arcana) check on the ring Lym failed to completely identify: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10. Bother. =_=
Lona |
And divvying up the "gold-ish" stuff (liquid gold, as I like to call it) is meaningless until we get to someplace where we can do something with it. The group who was at the glassworks place when Lona returned would have been aware of the stuff she took out to look over. That includes the composite shortbow, which Lona couldn't fully pull and didn't care much for as a result. She's wearing the earrings and the ring right now (because she's a woman and a rogue).
And, yes, when we return (or if we want to delay entering the tunnel, which I am assuming everyone is eager to get into right now), we can head to a merchant Lona knows well (she's lived here a while and should have a regular merchant or two by now that she deals with regularly) and sell the undesired goods for gold to divide up.
Thus, as I have it (possibly usable goods):
Bow + 19 Arrows in the quiver (no one claimed it - in Lona's possession but free to a good home)
Earrings and Ring (Lona's wearing it - you'll make her pout if you ask for it, but she MIGHT consider letting you wear it instead)
Potion (Lym's holding it)
There is a mw thieve's kit, but no one has shown a propensity for thievery here, so Lona is holding on to it (Lym does know of its existence if she recognizes it for what it is - she knows what all Lona found, if she was paying attention at the time). We'll likely fence it to get more gold.
I suspect we're light on equipment for L2. Hopefully we'll get to a balancing point in time (otherwise encounters at CR above us will become a bear). We'll have to put up with the paladin's superiorness a while longer, it seems...
Lona |
Sure! Lona likes Lym, who is simply cool, unlike that paladin, who Lona thinks may have been trying to be cool (don't worry Praxim, Lona will eventually accept you as part of the group. Eventually. I think.) :)
I'll take it off my list. Be sure to add it to your equipment list somewhere.
I am also assuming someone grabbed the bow and arrows (it is a nice +1 bow - surely we have someone with STR 12 or better). You all work it out. Lona is kind of tired of carrying those as well.
She's still wearing the earrings and the ring, though.

I expressed interest in it yesterday, in my last post on this thread. No one else has, as of yet, so I think I'll just take it. I'll ditch my own shortbow.
(Are there, in this group, any grab-everything-that-isn't-nailed-down-to-pawn-it-off types? Because I don't usually bother with the cheaper stuff. You could also, of course, just take it to USE it.)
Lym Blackhand |
Thanks for the flute, Lona. ^^ Might take one or two ranks in Perform (wind instruments) somewhere down the line, just for kicks.
Varg: I'm more of a packrat type, myself. I tend to hoard things that might be useful - like weapons. I still fondly recall a Bard character who ended up carrying more weapons than the team's Fighter. :D And some of it came in useful, too.

Lona is a packrat as well, in case you haven't noticed. She is rather sad about her inability to carry more goodies, and will be looking for a backpack or a bag to help with the problem down the road. As for the bow, Lona had conveniently forgot to return the shortbow the noble loaned her for the hunt. I'm sure Aldern was happy she wanted something to remember him by anyways.
Lym, don't forget to mark down you have the potion of CLW. Lona took it off her list already.

Varg: Thanks for the shortbow. ^^
Varisian Chronicler: Is it okay for Lym to have retroactively purchased a pack for Lona?

Bad news. My place at work seems to have put a web blocker in place today which doesn't let me get to paizo.com. This morning, I could get in. During lunch, I couldn't. I can try some ways around it, which might work. It's also possible that my work will change its web blocking software. (It does so from time to time.) But it's also possible that I won't be able to post except from home, which I can't do very often.

When it rains, it pours! Soon after paizo.com got blocked at work, my home PC got infected with a virus. My wife put overtime into getting this machine to work... but IE no longer gets any site at all, and Firefox crashes every now and then.
I'm posting this now message now, in case I'm stopped from posting any more...
Praxim |
Hey guys, I'll get back on track soon.
No worries.
I don't have my APG pdf yet, but any chance that if there's an archetype in there that really suits Praxim, we could make a quick switcheroo?Varg Proudheart |
I am very sad to have to post this.
For the past month or two, a slew of factors have been turning up in my life, conspiring to prevent me from logging onto paizo.com, or spending much time on it when I do. Therefore, I have decided to quit all PBPs in which I've been participating. Please believe me when I say that I'm not happy about this, and that I haven't made this decision on a whim.
Perhaps someone else can play my character until he can be neatly written out. Handle it however you like. I hope that the rest of you have a fun game. Maybe one day, my life will get back to normal and I'll check in to see how you're all doing in the game.
Until then, farewell.
