Mylvwara Elberion |
"probably a good idea if you eat and rest upstairs. The fresh air will do you good and you could collect anything useful to you from the dead guards up there."
Mylvwara waves airily toward the stairs.
"You'll also be away from these kindly fellows."
Mylvwara Elberion |
I am on holiday and struggling for free time (big family thing) so feel free to bot me. Mylvwara likes to crowd control with Grease and save haste and summon monster 3 for serious conflict. She uses her acadamae graduate feat to summon as a standard action if there is any pressure.
GM Chyro |
Enjoy the holiday.
The four slowly head up the stairs.
----------------
(Creaking of door)
----------------
This large hall is relatively clean and empty. A few racks on the walls contain wooden training weapons, and targets and straw dummies stand here and there. A strange wooden statue stands in front of a large alcove in the south wall. It has three tiger faces on its head, each facing a different direction, and six arms. The statue’s hands hold a variety of weapons; quarterstaff, sai, nunchaku, siangham, and kama. In the back of the alcove is a large wooden door.
You see one monk doing excersises, which he pauses with Ting stepping into the room.
"Who are you?!"
Mylvwara Elberion |
"Would you parlay in common?"
GM Chyro |
The monk looks surprised, as if hearing a speech foreign to him.
Mylvwara Elberion |
Mylvwara shrugs,
She turns to her allies, "Is this the fellow, Zamir?"
GM Chyro |
The monk sees the scepter, but no immediate response comes from him.
"What is that beaked one up to?
What's with the stick?"
GM Chyro |
The monk shakes his head, with an unfriendly tone.
Same social stuff works on him.
"No. What do you need with Zamir?"
Mylvwara Elberion |
Mylvwara addresses her allies, "This isn't Zamir, might be another problem."
Might be worth an intimidate check, they can probably be non-verbal?
"I've asked him to get Zamir, he isn't clever enough to be afraid of us."
intimidate aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Brallenera Thalkham |
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
it's not easy to intimidate someone when you can't speak the same langage.
But Brallenera manages to do it.
The big, bloody axe certainly help.
GM Chyro |
I think there was a penalty involving social rolls and a language barrier, i can't find it. If there was one, the bloody axe compensates.
The monk seems to consider his predicament, then does the smart thing of not opposing you, and stepping down by leaning with his back against the wall.
With a motion of his head, he points towards the alcove.
Mylvwara Elberion |
I nod to the monk gratefully,
GM Chyro |
The monk shakes his head.
"Just him."
Mylvwara Elberion |
"It seems that Zamir himself lies in the next room."
Ever cautious, Mylvwara casts a protective enchantment before entering.
protection from evil
Ting Tang |
Looking from the monk back to Mylvwara, Ting turns to the monk nodding and then the party, "Well 'air we goes, wroight."
Scepter in one hand, sword in the other, ting proceeds toward the alcove keeping a keen eye as he goes. He takes a moment to check the door for locks or traps before he opens it.
He will take 20 (31) on perception at the door, if there are locks, he will take 10 (30) If there is a trap, here is the roll
trap: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33
GM Chyro |
Ehm, i think you're getting ahead here.
- You have the (fake) scepter, the monk doesn't.
Will update later.
GM Chyro |
As Ting comes within 10 feet of the statue, it suddenly starts moving.
It assumes a stance similar to a tetori wrestling monk.
Aha...what now?
Brallenera Thalkham |
Aww..what is that? I don't have adamantine weapon, but my axe is magical. Will that help?
Brallenera assume a battle stance
Beaky, let's take this statue in a pincer manoeuver. I'll take it frontly, you're more agile than I am
Ting Tang |
ting has a couple of odd blades, no adamantine thought.
looking at the statue long enough to study it, ting turns to Brallenera and nods his head, "I's ain't sure I can get's around ta tha backside, I's'll go ta tha south, one o' you's blokes take's tha north."
Looking back at Mylvwara, "Ask tha bloody mook if'n 'air's a passy word 'er som'ting, wroight."
Move action: studied target, Move action 20 ft around the creature to the south, he intentionally doesn't come more that 5 ft.
GM Chyro |
We're not in combat Ting. Mere planning will do. ;)
The statue doesn't move away from its place, when Ting makes a large move around. When he is no longer within 10 feet of it, it returns to its former stance.
When he returns to 10ft distance, the battle stance happens again.
GM Chyro |
The monk shrugs.
"We don't go into Zamir's quarters, so we never had to try to find out."
Brallenera Thalkham |
Awwww, come on, we have lost enough time.
Brallenera attacks the construct When it's her turn, of course, it's just to speed up things
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Dmg, +1 Axe: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
GM Chyro |
While the talking is going on, it seems Ting had staid in place for enough time.
The stone monk slams his fists together.
--------------------------
Brallenera: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Carr: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Mylvwara: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Ting Tang |
"Huh, I wonder if 'at's its idear of invitin' somebody's ta a fight? Guess we's don't want ta disappoint, wroight." Ting steps towards the 'statue' swinging his bastard sword in an upward fashion intentionally aiming below the belt.
5 ft step, Attack: + 1 bastard sword, two handed, studied target, PA, FF
attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 = 14 for damage: 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 = 19
GM Chyro |
Ting boldly steps up to the statue and makes a strong swing.
But oh, woe is he, a smooth tile he doth stand upon, and his footing doth slipped, causing his attack to miss his intended target.
:P
---------------
The statue makes two swings in return.
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
The first swing hits Ting in the abdomen, but despite the bruised rib, he manges to sidestep and avoid the second attack.

Mylvwara
Brallenera & Carr
Mylvwara Elberion |
Mylvwara rolls her eyes, "Well, at least quick and nasty is quick."
Then she makes some formal arcane gestures around a few wiry hairs and caresses Brallenera's back, strengthen her ordinarily formidable muscle. bull's strength
Carr |
Carr continues his belief that bigger is better, and begins casting a spell of enlargement on himself. He whispers in celestial as it builds to a near-shout once he approaches the completion of the spell, a mantra to aid his spellcasting.
GM Chyro |
Mylvwara starts by buffing Brallenera, who is getting pumped to do some fighting.
She heads over to the statue, which with its long arms, makes an attack as she approaches.
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
(WHAM), Brallenera takes a heavy hit, before she gets in a hit on the statue for...... 0 dmg.
Carl is going for the big vs big, and starts casting a spell for such a situation.

"squawk" the crushing blow to his ribs, ruining his attack and knocking the wind out of him. Ting steps to the west of the statue and lifting the sword he slashes at the thing again.
5 ft step, Attack: + 1 bastard sword, two handed, studied target, PA, FF, flank, dirty fighter
attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 17 for damage: 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 + (4) = 29
GM Chyro |
What is FF?
And nice roll, btw.
Ting makes a swing of a lifetime. His blade slices across the statue with an awful, yet effective, rasping.
Fork onto a blackboard, anyone? :)
It deals 21 dmg.
-----------------
Statue (-21)
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Crit?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Ting is Lucky, 2 strong slams come his way, but only the second gives him a straight one to his beak.

Mylvwara
Brallenera & Carr
GM Chyro |
Mylvwara saves her spells, counting on the others to deal with the statue.
Carr becomes enlarged, and follows Brallenera with attacking.
Sword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 Dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
His attack hits, but for 2 dmg only.

Ting Tang |
"Ow, Punchin' tha beak? 'ow's 'at polite?" He then slashes at the statues shoulder with his bastard sword.
Attack: + 1 bastard sword, two handed, studied target, PA, FF, flank, dirty fighter
attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 18 for damage: 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 + (4) = 30
GM Chyro |
Ting is on a roll, hewing into the statue again for massive damage.
-----------------
Statue (-45)
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Slam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
The statue is near collapsing, with the large damage visible on it. Still, it is still functional enough to make two swings at Ting. The incoming force isn't too strong, but he eats a left and right hook.
----------------
Mylvwara
Brallenera & Carr
Mylvwara Elberion |
Mylvwara frowns at the golem's resilience and Ting's injuries.
Then she makes a few simple, careful gestures and a dart of acid shots toward the golem.
ranged touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
acid damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Brallenera Thalkham |
+1Axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Dmg: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Brallenera is impressed by Ting strikes
awww... I feel useless, now Beaky..
GM Chyro |
Between Mylvwara and Brallenera, the statue remains unharmed.
Carr |
Carr focuses himself, centers his chi, pours it into the strength of his arm, and then just loses it. His arm swings with massive might, bringing the blade crashing into the construct. "Fall down!"
Move action to gain Power Attack, then enter rage.
Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (6, 6) + 11 = 23
GM Chyro |
In a display of utter demolition, Carr hits the statue on the front of the head.
With the damage sustained prior, it ceases motion, and a crack spreads throughout its structure.
(Crumbles into chunks)
Combat over.
