Heads up: Our internet at the old house in Madison is being shut off some time tomorrow and we are moving back to Indiana on Saturday but won't have internet in the new house until Tuesday at the earliest. Sorry in advance if I disappear for a while but I'll try to get back on as soon as I can.

Sorry took so long! Ready to go!

Indeed! To which part of Indiana are you returning? I live in Northwest Indiana!
My family lives in LaPorte. I've been in Madison for the last ~2.5 years at grad school but now I'm back to working on the family farm.
We'll have internet at the new house tomorrow and I'll try to catch up then. Stealing internet from the parent's house right now but I've got too many other emails and urgent things to respond to tonight to catch up on PbP. See you guys in 24 (hopefully)!

I seem to recall that last time each individual we checked cost us time. Is that the case this time, should we all go for one person and concentrate on them - or can we seek out folk in parallel?

DystopianGM |

Yes, same mechanics. 1d6 hours per check, but I'm not counting aid checks, so you could focus on one or a few.

Update coming tonight. If you want to make any other preparations before opening the door, or want to modify the marching order on the map, please do so.
Also, if everyone's fine with letting Micky go, then that will have happened.

Sure, Micky can go.

Agreed.

Fine with me.

Forgot to respond to this... Very cool, Lod. I live in southern Porter County near Hebron. Welcome back.
Also, if I've been borking the illusion rules, please feel free to let me know right away and I will obviously adjust my way of handling them so that I'm not hamstringing the party...

I've been thinking about taking a level dip into sorcerer for a boost to my spell DCs. I was thinking the Fey bloodline would be a great option and then take Spell Focus: Enchantment at 5th level. What do you fine folks think? Good irea? Or will I be shooting myself in the foot?

![]() |

Level 7 is a real key point for Bard, access to 3rd level spells and inspire down to a move action. I wouldn't delay it personally.

Super long day. Will post early in the morning.

I hear ya loud and clear on that. Super stressful for me this week too.

![]() |

@Garrett
I would not switch, myself. You get more spells, but at lower levels and give up some pretty significant Bardic abilities.

![]() |

Spell focus is worth while. Single dip in sorcerer won't get you much more apart from the ability to use items without UMD checks and a few extra cantrips.
I'd not dip a class for just a +1 to DCs. That will make a 5% difference, and compulsion spells are (not all, but typiclally) single target. Even if you cast two each battle, for four battles per scenario, and three scenarios a level, the likely hood is it would make only one difference between a success and a fail.
If you wanted to bump compulsion up that much, you should have gone Kitsune enchanter. Something I have been thinking about for a while.

![]() |

Thanks for all the insight, folks! Originally I was just looking at focusing on Illusions, but then I also noticed recently that bards have some pretty decent enchantment spells available to them and Fey bloodline gives that nice +2 boost to Compulsion DCs. (While I would love to go the kitsune route they aren't exactly Core legal, Prism lol.)
The points you all make are very good points. I think I might just look at continuing on beefing up my Illusion spells with Greater Spell Focus. I feel like I really should have bumped Garrett's Cha up to 18 during character creation for the play style I had in mind for him. I always see him as the atypical support bard. Boost your comrades with Performance, be awesome at skills, and then toss around some spells as well.

![]() |

Good point about Core. Is Fey core? In which case maxing out the DC is much harder.
+2 to DC is also a little better than +1, makes a 10% difference not 5%. I guess it depends on how specialised you want to get.

![]() |

Fey bloodline is core. I personally still wouldn't do it. I would look to bump charisma with a headband and invest more into spell focus and greater focus if you have the feats and want to be caster focused. I would also consider diversifying your spells a little to include some reflex and fortitude save stuff as you level.

I have not used my reroll so I shall use it on my day job.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17, minimum 25gp

It's been a pleasure GM'ing for you all. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did on the other end of the GM screen. I will be at a convention tomorrow, but will work to get the chronicles up by Saturday evening at the latest. Let me know if anything has changed or any other clarifications that need to be made.
Thanks again!

![]() |

Many thanks for running, it has been a lot of fun. Blend has hit 7th now due to some waiting GM credit but he would be happy to play in another other Core stuff you wanted to run.

![]() |

Thanks much for running! Chip is 6 now if there's a future game, and now with a medium badger (not to mention 4 attacks per round). :)

![]() |

Echoing the thanks. I always appreciate the work a GM does.

![]() |

All I can do is concur with what has already been said by those before me. Thanks again for running this and I'll gladly play in any of your games in the future.

DystopianGM |

Okay everyone, thank you again for being such a great group. Please go HERE for your chronicles. Please let me know if anything needs to be modified.
Hope we get to game again soon!
