Caledonii will do many things in the interium:
1 is the obvious choice would be his suspicions regarding the adept rescued from Tantalus, Roge Halis. I will take my suspitions to the peoples involved in watching over and accessing the adept and the others. then leave it in their capable hands.
2 The weaponry of the Iron snake reminds me of the long past weaponry of the captions and other leaders; the use of the spear and the shield, even before the use of the claymore. I will seek out any information about any such weaponry tithed to the Deathwatch. If I dont see any records I will go to the other Storm wardens to see if they have any knowledge and if not then go the the techmarines and see it they would see if they know of any information in their know-ledges and if so could they make me some, and possible a regular combat shield with out the protective field built into it.
3 I finish my penance if I have not and continue training in all other aspects
4 if the hierarchy command that I would be fit to train said Iron snake I would do it out of duty but until I know more about him I dont trust him very much. This can change as I do get to know him.
Though out all this time when not doing the above I will share tails of my adventures with the others of the team and see if I can bring out more information about the others pasts but not being intrusive. ie if they seem reluctant I wont push.

As you can all probably see, I plan on getting my money's worth out of the 'canon' NPC's that have been sprinkled throughout the Deathwatch sourcebooks. Oftentimes I find I make too little use of these ready-made characters, but I plan on making up for it in this campaign. Plus, many of these characters have quite a few intriguing elements to add to the storyline while interacting with your PC's.

OK, I'd just like a little feedback from each of you on what goals/interactions each character would like to pursue through a short series of vignette scenes during the downtime between missions. I have some specific things in mind for some of you, but would like to hear if there is anything else that the individual brothers of Kill-team Umbra would like to do while in Watch Fortress Erioch. The canon lore as written about the Watch Fortress in the Deathwatch core rulebook and other supplements holds true here, so you can use that as a launching point if you like. I'll list below some of the encounters I have in mind for some of you, if there is anything further you'd like to do, please let me know in OOC below.Brother Hrothgar: Entirely up to Rad, but there are some prominent Space Wolf NPC's among the Deathwatch of the Watch Fortress that he may choose to have dialogue with, among them, the Forge Master and Iron Priest, Harl Greyweaver or the Deathwatch Champion, the legendary Wolf, Attalus Fellhand.
You didn't mention any servo harness, so I would assume that Hrothgar is drinking with Attalus Fellhand, which is awesome!!!!

Rook, Balfic and I were talking and we think we both missed a scene. I left the Inquisitor and was going to get healed up and he was with the White Consul and waiting for a reply. When did we meet up? I did not know how to answer the sgt at arms, because I did not know why I was there.

Guys can any of you direct me where i can buy a skyclaw miniature?
Easy place is ebay there are a lot of bitz sellers which can be cheaper than buying it from games workshop since it will not be a single figure and a case is at least $35+tax.
Go to ebay and look for it, it will cost you around $9 to get your custom figure with any weapon you want it to have, head, arm pose, legs, backpack and other bitz to complement it.
The is how I made my home-made librarian.
Regular marine body with aquila.
Book
4 seals
Sergeant pointing arm (cut finger) (arm from devastator sergeant)
High Elves wizard flaming sphere (goes with his scepter)
Regular marine legs
Converted Shoulder pad into a nice psychic hood
Cost me $10 (blasted high elf bit)
But now my librarian looks like he has his arm stretched and about to fire a bluish/white fire ball and holding his stormbolter on the other. The librarian book hangs from his backpack and he has 4 purity seals and of course a regular grim not screaming (very rare) head.
My own Carcharodon astra ^^ librarian blasting my foes riding the razor back with a sergeant with combi flamer, marine with flamer and 3 bolt pistol+chainsword marines. The other 5 marines are bolter+missile launcher holding objective blasting anything in range.

Sorry for the confusion Lorm, it was my understanding from Balfic's last post that he was headed to check on the Karlack 2nd in the Infirmary/Quarantine level of the Tower of Brass. I elected to have Quintus accompany him given his role as leader of the last mission, and since he had the most success diplomatically with Inquisitor Quist following the debriefing. One thing to note, is that you and Brother Vex's visit to the Inquisition stronghold comes one day after your respective scenes so far, so any number of other activities or errands, such as visiting the infirmary, could have been completed in the interim.
I know that both Decius and Caledonii had expressed interest in checking on Roge Halis and the guardsmen as well, but this will depend on your success in petitioning the inquisitor, so I felt it best to resolve that scene first.
Don't worry though, there is plenty of time to complete all your personal goals for the time between missions, I'm just trying to include as many players/characters in scenes as possible to keep things flowing for everyone.
If anyone wants to post in OOC any further downtime requests for their characters going forward based on what has transpired thus far, feel free to do so below.
I'm going to try and update DW after DH tonight, too.

Jericho Reach preview
I feel like Brother Emeric just made another critical success in the librarium stacks! :)

I just finished reading the Achilus Assault, and have to say I came away impressed. A great source of fluff about the inner workings of the crusade in the Jericho reach and the machinations involved and how the Deathwatch can become embroiled with them. Ideas enough for several campaigns. I'm hoping they take a similar bent with the Jericho Reach book.

Hey, Rook. Is our time on Erioch considered a new gaming "session"? To get to the heart of my query, do we get to reset our Fate Points? I used all mine in the Extraction adventure.
I'm OK if you rule it would be inappropriate to be spending them on research in the librarium or in any other way while on Erioch.
Thanks!
Deiros |
I'd consider it a new session for the purposes of renewing Fate Points, Eradico. They will reset again when we begin the Price of Hubris. The interval between missions is long enough and initiates enough roleplaying encounters in this case to justify it.
Sorry for my short absence been busy this holiday xD

That is not to say it will never happen, just that I don't have any immediate plans to run one unless you guys want to take things in a different direction from what we have been doing.

Can I just say that I'm really enjoying everyone's posting while the Kill-Team is at Erioch? Each Marine is really getting fleshed out and presenting a unique persona which was mostly missing from the combat-oriented Extraction adventure.
Should make our next "official" mission that much better.
Good job, team! Rook, thanks for rolling with the punches!
Deiros |
That would be very interesting but I would like to see more for the Cursed Founding chapters or other known chapters.
Like Disciples of Caliban from the Dark Angel, since I didn't see them in the list of successors unless I missed it.
Im interested in the Minotaurs and Carcharodons so my opinion is a bit towards them.

Meant to reply much earlier to this, Eradico. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the Kill-team's downtime at Erioch. My main rationale was to give everyone a little time to explore their character's personalities, backgrounds, motives and goals a bit more than they could in a mission setting. I'm very happy with how things are shaping up so far!
