Lynn Warhaven |
Lynn grabs the bound Faxon package and throws it on the cart too and with Steelgate pulling the cart it goes back to the base of operations.
Once there Lynn asks for Irabeth, to give a report and to let her decide what to do with Faxon.
DM Raltus |
Irabeth and Aniva come down to greet you upon your return, Aniva has fresh clothing on and a new split on her leg. She is still hobbling around but looks happier.
"So you found someone at the tower? We will keep him under lock and key and gagged. Anything else special about him?"
Two guards come to lead Faxon off to a cell in the basement.
"Did you check out Topaz Solution or the Manor yet?"
Aniva Tirablade_NPC |
"I will sort through what you have found and put it in your rooms once I am done with it. Do you want it kept for your own use or are you going to sell it to the smiths?" Aniva hobbles over and sits down next to all the gear and such that Don has brought in.
DM Raltus |
"We have word that Nestrin Alodae and his Protector Eterrius Sunnestier might be on their way to Defender's heart. Topaz solutions is just an alchemists store you might even be able to find some potions there to help out my wife and the other's who were wounded."
Irabeth points out Topaz solutions to the group on the city map, it is about a 5 block walk north.
Eterrius Sunnestier is a Half-Elven battle cleric of Iomadae and Nestrin Alodae is the older living resident of KENABRES and the eldest member of Iomadae's church here in the city.
DM Raltus |
Ok so my day was a write off we will just go with doing Topaz solutions
Aniva heads off to sort through what you brought and Irabeth points out where Topaz solutions is and heads off to direct some of the troops around and to make sure that Faxon was locked up successfully.
The city heading north is in as much ruin as the southern portion, some of the building remain intact and there is a grain silo along the north western wall with it's door smashed in. Upon reaching Topaz solutions there is the sound of smashing glass.
DM Raltus |
A wooden sign above the door bears a carving of a bundle of
orange herbs and flowers hovering over a beaker filled with
smoking orange liquid. The building’s windows are tightly
shuttered, but the front door hangs halfway off its hinges.
Lynn and SteelGate move ahead with Iko flanking them to the Alley looking down it. As Lynn pokes the door open with her Glaive she can hear a few voices inside.

Lynn can hear 3 voices inside, they seem to be taking about the best coloured potions to take and whatever else might get them away from this dead city.
DM Raltus |
As Don moves up the noise inside stops, a man comes forward a smugged looking bird on his right breast trailing what looks like Ash.
Oi! what do ye want? We are trying ta leave this blasted city but the cost will be much more than we have."
They are members of the ash ravens, most likely broke up since the attack

Lynn peeks in as she hears someone talking. On recognizing the icon on the armor she steps in. "We're here to pack up all the useful stuff and bring it back to the remaining good guys in town. Especially healing potions and such. How about you give us a few minutes to look that through, get what we need and then we're out of your hair again."
DM Raltus |
The three men look at each other, "Defender's heart? Naw we aren't staying, our boss died in the initial attack and we fought some demon's and cultist. Were done with this s#!$, you take we ye want and we are leaving with our share now." The approach the door not drawing weapons but their hands at the ready.
DM Raltus |
The Ash Ravens leave the alchemist shop, most of the shop is destroyed by what looks like looters or some sort of explosion. There are traces of scorching along one wall and acid burns along the floor, it looks like the owner maybe put up a fight.
There is a hidden door behind a book shelf, it opens to a stair case that leads down. Any of you familiar with Kenabre's will find it odd that there is a basement in a shop as most shops don't go below ground just military structures do for storage reasons.
A random assortment of 1st level potions, someone roll me 2d6
a few 2nd level potions roll 1d6
a few third level potion 1d4
2 alchemist fire
2 alchemist acid
A healers kit
Anything specific that people are looking for?
DM Raltus |
I will do the potions and such tonight, get my kids to help
Lynn notes no bodies or blood in the building. There appear to be signs of a struggle but nothing showing that anyone died or was wounded.
Iko and Tink move into the building with the group, SteelGate taking up a guard stance at the door.
Perception Tink: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
perception Iko: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Iko moves to a shelf with all the books, touching them all in a random order he eventually is able to move the shelf away to revel a hidden door. SteelGate tells the group in his hollow steely voice that the Ash Ravens met up with 3 other as they turned off the street.
DM Raltus |
The hidden door leads to a stair case heading down, the stairs are rough cut stone leading down about 15 steps. As Iko makes his way down the rest follow him, SteelGate protecting the rear.
The air in this basement is damp and musty-smelling. The
walls and floor are packed earth, while dozens of gourds hang
from the ceiling beams. A sludge of rotting plant matter covers
the floor. Against one wall, a wooden table holds a strange
apparatus that looks like a clockwork toy of a snake-bodied, sixarmed
woman holding a sword in each hand. A tightly corked
bottle, filled with what looks like water, sits before the statue.
A wooden chest covered with engraved runes stands under the
table, and a sinister image of a star surrounding a goat’s face is
painted on the wall above the table.

"I don't think there are still agents working inside the Defender's Heart. They are all out in the open rubbing it into our faces, don't you think?"
"And Baphomet again." she adds pointing to the painting.
DM Raltus |
Irabeth appears at the door just as Lynn tells the guards to get her, others have lined the second floor balcony with troops in the front with crossbows and bows. The two mages stand just behind them, leafing through pages and readying themselves.
"I think I know who that is, and if my guess is right those following won't last to much longer." Irabeth says drawing her long sword and shaking out her shield arm.
The excitement builds as the Older man stumbles a bit, the man in the Full plate looking like a walking brick of Iron stops and turns back facing the moderate size following.
"You will not cross this line." He dips his sword to the group and looks like he does something to the ground. As he appears to lower his guard a Dretch leaps forward to slam into the man, switching his stance quickly the armored man slices the dretch in 2, green ichor flowing to the ground.
"Move Nestrin, You need to get inside."
Iko_ |
Iko nods to Don. "Indeed. I move fast, I will circle around them and we can attack from two sides. If anyone can keep up they can accompany me."
Iko waits for any volunteers and then heads off fast as he can but out of sight from the enemy. He passes by the Defenders Heart and calls out to the archer he fought before Can't remember if we gave him a name or if he had one.
"Demons come. Time for you to atone. Come with me. He says sternly and pointedly making it known that it's not really a request. He draws radiance, his magical blade and heads off into the shadows of the streets.

"They do not, the horde is endless." Irabeth says from beside Lynn.
The demons are 100 feet out with the Older man and the Armor clad man about 50 feet out. The Cultists seem to break off and move into alley ways with the Dretch's being taken care of there are 2 demons left, Large and almost looking like goats. They carry ugly looking Halberds with them.

Don's Bolt lands Solidly into the shoulder of the first Demon, the demon doesn't appear to take the full brunt of the bolt though. The second demon turns from the fleeing pair and looks at the group snorting out a cloud of oily black smoke lowering its head it moves towards the group.
