Basic premise: have you played Borderlands?
You are dumped on the alien planet of Pandora and get to learn how to survive in the hostile wastelands with hostile natives and bandits galore. Though there are no guns on Pandora, magic will be bounding all over. Bazillions of weapons and nearly all of them being magical. Weapons of all kinds can be found in this world with many tools that will help you on your adventure. Why are you here, are you a fortune hunter, an archaeologist, a soldier, a body guard, a trophy, or something more sinister? There are a few settlers on Pandora that may help but will likely need your help first. Explore Pandora and carve your own path upon this desolate landscape.
First off we will be playing Gestalt. Look at the races already created for this campaign and come up with one that is unique to this world and universe! Come up with a few hooks for the short tern and long term for your character. Finally we will discuss the shuttle.
This campaign starts you off at 3rd level. After the initial mission of survival most of the campaign will be sandbox/open world.
Only two psionic classes, one of those players could be a Siren.
Need more information check out the campaign game info thread!

If I dotted this any harder I'd be jamming a pen through my screen. Rollan' stats now, but I want to wait a bit before committing to a concept.
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 6, 4) = 20
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 1, 3) = 15
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 6, 1) = 15
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 2, 2) = 10 dropped
5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2, 4) = 18
5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 6, 6) = 28
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 4, 5) = 18

Taunk Ironthane |

This is Johnnycat again
I have a half-orc shielded fighter that I wanted to try out (this alias I'm posting as). I think smashing people with huge shield is suitably borderlands. I'll need to think a little more on how to update the character to this game though, backstory and the like will likely need to be changed (plus I need to figure out my gestalt class).
According to the internet I'm a reckless half-orc fighter who constantly puts themselves in danger just to prove a point. I also lost my sense of smell in a bar fight.
Cool.

Taunk Ironthane |

Alright stat-block should be done, I'll work on getting the backstory up tomorrow. What are you looking for in the way of special abilities? If it's just something a little extra I'd personally like to pick up the Resolve class feature but I can work on something more unique if you'd like.
I'll be taking the Specimen role.

GM Wolf |

Excellent more advancement!
Resolve (Ex): Starting at 1st level, the samurai gains resolve that he can call upon to endure even the most devastating wounds and afflictions. He can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every two samurai levels beyond 1st. Whenever the samurai defeats the target of his challenge, he regains one daily use of his resolve, up to his maximum number of uses per day. Defeating the target of his challenge usually involves reducing the target to 0 hit points or fewer, but the GM might rule that an enemy who surrenders or flees the battle is also defeated. He can use this resolve in a number of ways.
Determined: As a standard action, the samurai can spend one use of his resolve to remove the fatigued, shaken, or sickened condition. If the samurai is at least 8th level, he can alternatively remove the exhausted, frightened, nauseated, or staggered condition. If the condition has a duration longer than 1 hour or is permanent, this ability removes the condition for 1 hour, at which time the condition returns.
Resolute: Whenever the samurai is required to make a Fortitude or Will save, he can spend one use of his resolve as an immediate action to roll twice and take the better result. He must decide to use this ability before he rolls the saving throw.
Unstoppable: When the samurai is reduced to fewer than 0 hit points but not slain, he can spend one use of his resolve as an immediate action to instantly stabilize and remain conscious. He is staggered, but he does not fall unconscious and begin dying if he takes a standard action. He does fall unconscious if he takes additional damage from any source.
That can work though some other ideas of special abilities that he would likely like to have or would mesh well with him would be helpful. Such as a specific spell, energy type/subtype, or mutation.
Also Brawler is not going to work, it is in the ACG which I excluded from being used. If you want to go with a class from the ACG you may but then you will only have one class.

Taunk Ironthane |

Sorry, you wrote that the APG wasn't to be used. I didn't know that the ACG was excluded as well. I'll find a different class and update later today.
Also yes, that's the correct resolve. I always though it was a cool ability that didn't get enough love because it only appears in the Samurai. I'll give a better description/pitch when I put together my backstory.

Io Ren |

Interesting I think I'll roll up a hunter/Cavaler type chararter with monsterus mounts
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 1, 6) = 16 - 14
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4, 5) = 18 - 15
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 6, 6) = 21 - 16
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 2, 5) = 17 - 14
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 2, 4) = 18 - 13
5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 5, 1) = 14 - Dropped
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 4, 6) = 20 - 15
*edit oops saw the no APG But I'm still thinking of a hunter/Mount type build

Nekosluagh |
Borderlands is one of my favorite series. I would love to play the Siren if that is ok. For the Gestalt class, if I am playing the Siren, should the gestalt class be Psionic/something else? I figure probably a good idea to sort that all out first.
[Edit] Now looking at the rules closer, I am thinking about just making her a cleric/rogue class, with the prize/trophy role, kept as a prized captive being a siren, like Angel.
Thanks

Angelpalm |

So it says psionic classes, does that mean you are using dreamscarred press material? And if so POW? That homebrew lion race looks like it was built for a stalker class.
5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 3, 6) = 1915
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 1, 1) = 1715
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 5, 3) = 1814
5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 5, 2) = 2417
5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 3, 1) = 1814
5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 3, 4) = 1311
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 1, 5) = 13drop
15,15,14,17,14,11

GenThunderfist |

5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 5, 1) = 16
5d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 6, 4) = 17
5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 6, 2) = 17
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 5, 5) = 24
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 1, 1) = 8 Drop this I suppose
5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 3, 5) = 23
5d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 5, 1) = 14
12, 12, 14, 16, 16, 12
dotting for interest. I'm thinking of a gunslinger bolt ace/ brawler fighter

GM Wolf |

Sorry folks my bad, my post about no APG really meant no ACG, so no Advanced Class Guide classes. Unless you want to use one of them but you won't have a gestalt class to go with it.
Io Ren - your calviler can work but pick a different class than hunter. ;)
Nekosluagh - Sounds good start creating your Siren. A psionic class would work pretty well but create what you want. The Siren's language choices has not been worked out yet any suggestions? As to deity's I have not developed that much, becasue none are really incorporated into Borderlands. Yes the bandits worship one thing or another but none are gods. I will accept the gods from Golarion and 3.5. Though understand that the presence of the domains of madness, slaughter and violence permeate the world.
AngelPalm - Concerning Psionics check out this link. I am not that knowledgeable about psionics but I have been learning. Yes I believe the material is dreamscarred press material. POW, sorry what does that mean?

![]() |

Thanks Wolf. This is the character for me, Nekosluagh.
I decided to go with cleric/rogue. The combination of +dex/+wis, I think will make for a good comination of that.
In regards to language, I'm not real sure, though maybe Eridian could be there other starting language, as while it hasn't been put that way in the games, I would imagine that the Eridian's influence probably had something to do with the generation of the Sirens, especially considering what the Eridium Crystal Shard did to Lilith in the second game.
I was thinking of making her a cleric of Desna, but I am going to be looking more into the gods.

Velden Lansell |

Well, there goes my thought of playing a couple of ACG classes.
Mind if I ask why? They are hybrids of two classes, but, they are not gestalts. They are only as powerful as any other base class individually.
Still trying to figure out what I want to play, plus on the road this week, so it'll be the weekend before I can build something.

Senva |

Stat 1: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 5, 4) = 18 13
Stat 2: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 5, 2) = 19 15
Stat 3: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 1, 4) = 18 13
Stat 4: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 5, 2) = 18 16
Stat 5: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 3, 3) = 19 13
Stat 6: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 5, 2) = 16 13
Stat 7: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 2, 6) = 22 17
So a 13, 13, 13, 15, 16, 17...
Interesting, seems so middle of the line until I realize the best possible outcome is an 18... Probably get an idea today and finish stuff Friday.
A couple of questions, would the archetypes introduced in the ACG work? Such as spirit summoner or daring champion?

Taunk Ironthane |

Alright backstory is done and up along with the altered statblock (I ended up going with Fighter (Brawler)/Aegis). I was also wondering if it'd be alright if I changed the flavor of Aegis slightly: rather than being psionics it is the result of super-advanced technology.
For the TL;DR inclined here's a quick blurb to establish my character. I'll also pitch my special abilities for the sake of brevity.
What would you do if you had less than a year to live?
His home ravaged by disease, one that courses through his veins even now, Taunk Ironthane has come to Pandora in search of a cure that may not even exist. Armed only with an advanced suit of reactive armor and whatever else he can get his hands on he seeks to challenge the madness of the borderlands: winner take all, life or death. Whatever may happen once this shuttle lands one thing is for certain: Taunk isn't going down without a fight.
POTENTIAL SPECIAL ABILITIES
Resolve: Rarely has one drunk so greedily, so deeply from the font of life. Quenching such a brilliant soul will be a feat in an of itself.
Powerful Flexibility: The Susano'o is capable of analyzing and rapidly adapting to any given combat situation. Should the user choose the suit can utilize this information to further augment their abilities. Spend power points to gain combat feats according to Martial Flexibility.
The Iron Thane: Though the Burnout Virus is in remission its effects still linger just below the surface. There is no telling when it may coming surging forth again or just what will happen when it does. Gain 1/day ability to use Deadly Juggernaut.
I've also got points in Craft (Weapons) and (Mechanics) as well as the Master Craftsmen feat in two levels, so I can take care of a large portion of crafting.
Any feedback/criticism is welcome and appreciated.

Riuk |

a few questions before try to get in ...will you allow Machinesmuth I would mix it with a Spellslinger might go haling but will more than likely be a half orc..
5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 4, 4) = 18=13
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 3, 4) = 15=11
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 1, 5) = 21=17
5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 2, 3) = 18=13
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 1, 3) = 14=11
5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 4, 2) = 16=12
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 1, 4) = 15=11drop
edit
if its ok id like to ask for this race
I would lose this to drop the RP
Defense Racial Traits
•Defensive Training, Greater: Kasathas have a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class. (4 RP)
•Desert Runner: Kasathas have a +4 racial bonus on Constitution checks and Fortitude saves to avoid fatigue, exhaustion, and other ill effects from running, forced marches, starvation, thirst, and hot or cold environments. (2 RP)

Echos Myron |

I've got a yearning to play a gulch gunner Trench Fighter ratfolk order of vengeance dune drifter cavalier mounted on a skag (using the wolf stats). Orr uh something like that... Let's check out the rolls first.
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 3, 3) = 1611 dropped
5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 4, 4) = 1814
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 2, 3) = 1713
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 6, 2) = 1714
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 6, 3) = 2317
5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 6, 6) = 2016
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 5, 5) = 2616
Those are some damn good rolls.

Taunk Ironthane |

While I don't necessarily agree with that exact statement, I understand the broad strokes. There's nothing so unique in the ACG that you can't just get through another classes archetype (Daring Champion or Spirit Summoner) and since we are gestalting there's plenty of opportunity to make those work.
Way I see it: GM doesn't want ACG classes and it's within his capacity to make that call. Best just accept it and move on regardless of whether we agree. That way we can get to playing the Borderlands that much faster!

The Dragon |

This looks fantastic!
The game info talks about 'Archives' a lot. Are those the Archives of Nethys, or did you mean the srd? (and in that case, d20pfsrd or psrd?)
Is the Warlock a third party class?
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 6, 5) = 25
5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 5, 6) = 26
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 3, 2) = 10
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 6, 1) = 17
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 2, 1) = 10
5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 5, 1) = 23
5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 6, 1) = 12
17, 17, 16, 15, 10, 8!
Hmm. It looks like a caster, a little bit. Can't be too MAD, as it requires two non-bonus stats. Edit: that is to say; I couldn't make a good paladin//monk with this. Anything else should be good.
I'm quite interested in making a Siren type character. Or maybe a Brick-inspired one.
Will knowledge of Borderlands outside of completing the first game be neccesary to get in here?

Duke Deluca |

I'm finishing up some of the specifics but this is GenThunderfists submission for the game. Sorry I took a bit longer than I anticipated, but he is complete with crunch and a backstory!
HP: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Also, @Wolf can I use the Trait Never Stop Shooting as an ability to continue to use a crossbow instead of a firearm? (This is assuming that "firearm" is meaning guns specifically of course)

GM Wolf |

Riuk, machinesmith looks fine. Kasatha is a good possibility, but if you are interested in ClapTrap go on ahead.
The Dragon, I use most of those (Archives of Nethys/d20pfsrd/psrd) Off the top of my head right now, before I go to sleep I am not sure which ones I was referencing. I should have some time to address that question tomorrow if it is pressing.
No you do not need to have any of the Borderlands games finished, just be familiar with the games, their background, and the theme.
Right now I got a lot on my plate, give me a link or just post the information here. PoW, or Path of War, what do you want to know about it?
Trait Never Stop Shooting as an ability to continue to use a crossbow instead of a firearm? Yes that makes sense to me, but you would likely need rapid reload or a repeating crossbow.
We got people fleshed out so far:
Taunk Ironthane (direct links are not working that great, I would suggest spoiling your information and use the spoiler as a title to the different sections.) Besides that first check over looks nice. ;)
Grand Lodge Aria Stron. A good start keep working on the backstory some more. Just as Taunk first check looks nice. ;)
Duke Deluca. Wow, there is a lot there, I will have to check it out tomorrow.
Who else has something to submit?

Taunk Ironthane |

Taunk Ironthane (direct links are not working that great, I would suggest spoiling your information and use the spoiler as a title to the different sections.) Besides that first check over looks nice. ;)
The links seem to be working fine for me so I'm not entirely sure what I can do to improve the formatting. Regardless, I broke up a lot of the info into individual sections. Hopefully it helps.

Chitwick |

This is Echos Myron's submission, Chitwick, an Atlas experiment that got away from one of their many labs. Turned him into a savage technologist barbarian and kept the cavalier side. Wasn't able to finish the sheet tonight, but I will get it up tomorrow evening after work if recruitment is still open.
HP: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
What tech level are we to go by? Am I able to use a revolver?
For Amateur Gunslinger's 1st level deed, can I choose
