Inspired by this thread, I started to think about which actors I think would be so fun to see as iconics. As a disclaimer, this is JUST FOR FUN! IT IS NOT A THING WE ARE DOING AT ALL! But, I imagine my fellow nerds have already floated around a few fan casts at their tables, and I want to hear them!
The one that inspired this all was Pedro Pascal as Ezren, and I'd like to add the following:
Colman Domingo as Quinn
Anya Taylor Joy and Ritu Arya as Merisiel and Kyra
Emma D’Arcy as Dae
OK GO GIMME MORE

Not an iconic, but I think Benedict Cumberbatch would make a good Xanderghul. He's got the high cheekbones and would have fun doing all the self-aggrandizing arrogance.
Oh you are absolutely on point with this one. Plus, yeah, let's get some Runelords in here too! Extend it to favorite characters even!

I think he should be old, comparison to everyone else. So if you have everyone else like early twenties, yeah someone like Pedro Pascal playing Ezran works, especially with a running gag about how old he is and his response, "I'm only 42!"
We did exactly this gag with one of the PCs from my Tyrant's Grasp game. One of the players was a dwarven kineticist who had a bad accident requiring them to use a cane, and whose hair went prematurely white, and who had to keep yelling to everyone the assertion that, "I'm not old!"
It was a gag that ran through the entire campaign, and I can attest that it was never not funny.

This is is exactly why yes. This 100%.

One crimp in this is that many of the iconics have mediocre Charisma!
It'd be downright insulting to have charming Pedro Pascal play Ezren (though I suppose we'll see after he plays Reed Richards, also brilliant w/ average/mixed charisma). And I get some resentment vibes from Ezren I don't see in Pedro's characters.
And Jack Black playing Lem who has max Charisma? Eh...are we talking about the same actor here? Give me Dinklage, please!

Glad to see my throwaway post has spun off into some classic fan nonsense!
Kinda want to find a spot for Sofia Boutella. She's got some action credentials and feels underutilized these days. Maybe Seoni?
Thank you whole heartedly for the inspiration! It's always fun to dream up ideas like this!
And I think she'd fit Jirelle even!!!

I'm sorry, do you not watch Jack Black movies, the man Maxed Charisma.
(All joking and in good fun)
Is Peter Dinklage musically inclined? It would be good to have proper little person representation for Lem and Lini
This is very true! I honestly don't think there's anything that's truly beyond Peter's Dinklage's range, and I also wouldn't be opposed to a sort of musical sing/talking if that's what he can manage music wise? I don't think I've ever seen him sing before, and now I want to!

Correct, I do not watch Jack Black movies having watched Jack Black movies. I do watch movies where he's in an ensemble and doing so reinforces my avoidance of his movies. :-P (And his musical range doesn't seem to overlap much with Lem's...well except that PF2 rules suggest Lem has infinite range.)
Peter Dinklage's Lem would be just as musically talented as anybody else's Lem, all supported by behind-the-scenes artists. :-) I did not choose him for that, nor because he's a little person (where he's too big for a gnome). He's who first sprang to mind when considering maxed charisma given his wit, mastery of dialogue, etc. In GoT, Tyrion was the character I thought would ruin the show because nobody could mirror his brilliance from the book. Then along came Dinklage. OMG, I was so relieved.
Of course, the casting also relies on how the writers portray Lem, and the pressure from others. Slapstick or showboating? Black. Wit or repartee? Dinklage. Though both would require younger versions unless the whole cast's aged up (depending on Ancestry!).

Colin Farrell for Seltyiel and if anyone questions it look at him in the Penguin. Here is an actor that has incredible range and is more than willing to utterly submerge himself and become the character!
And for things to think about remember Seltyiel is not your average two dimensional character. He's bad, dark and tragic all rolled into one, but he also a sense of justice.

Oscar Isaac as Valeros would be a good match imo.
Laurence Fishburne or Ewan Mcgregor as Ezran would probably be matches made in heaven honestly.
Now for an off the wall one, Steven Yeun as Korakai. I was very impressed with his voice work, and I think he matches the kind of younger sounding voice I imagine Korakai to have.

I agree with his range. I absolutely love his Coach character in the Gentlemen!

So thought for a gimmick/running gag for the movies. While Given how many iconics there are, you establish them working for the Pathfinder Society in the first movie. Then each subsequent movie, different characters would show up being sent by the Society, with references back to other established characters who aren't present giving hints of other adventures they're on.

I mean... Dwayne Johnson as Nahoa the Exemplar.
Karen Gillan as Adowyn the Hunter.
Chris Hemsworth as Hakon the Skald. Though maybe a bit too Thor-like.
Charlize Theron as Kess the Brawler.
Cate Blanchett as Reiko the Ninja. One word: Hot Fuzz.
Oded Fehr from The Mummy as Zadim the Slayer.
Jason Statham as Sajan the Monk.
Throwing a curve ball here... Ryan Reynolds as Lem.

Sofia Boutella is easy. Close your eyes. Imagine her as…Valera. She’d do an awesome job. No reason these Iconics can’t be changed, and movies do it ALL the time.

I want Danny Trejo to get more varied roles. I don't know, but I get the feeling he has more range than he get's the chance to use.
Honestly he does have the range I believe! As funny as it is in my mind to see Machete as Ezren, I've also seen Danny pull off roles that were super warm and emotional and witty, so I think it's on the table!

Morgan Freeman could play Jatembe. His voice is deep and soothing and I think it would work really well for a wise old wizard.
Now hear me out on this one... Curse of the Crimson Throne with Mia Goth as Illeosa. Her unhinged performance in Pearl could ABSOLUTELY work for the increasingly unstable and self-obsessed queen. 'But I'm a STAAAR!'

Unhinged is what's needed there, so I support it!!!

My movie's adventuring party's got:
Steve Buscemi as Balazar (with Sir Patrick Stewart voicing Padrig the Eidolon, of course)
Simu Liu as Nakayama Hayato
David Harbour as Mavaro
Michael Sheen as Erasmus
and Ayo Edebiri as a short, quirky Seelah.
Playing opposite a trio of villains:
Brendan Gleeson as Urgaz
Anya Taylor-Joy as Zelhara
and Benedict Cumberbatch as Lazzero Dalvera

Brendan Gleeson, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Benedict Cumberbatch is a GOATED villain trio. I love it.
Also, since Nakayama Hayato is based on Japanese culture (though not actually Japanese since our games are in a fantasy world, but still culturally inspired as we reach out to related cultural experts in their fields for accuracy), so I'm thinking Sakaguchi Kentaro might be a better fit! He's also a fantastic actor! Check out "Hell Dogs" if you haven't seen it!
